Most common PP levels used online ?

Preamble: I dont race online much other than a touring car series, mainly I tune cars and run laps. But after I have a few cars at varying levels I will be venturing online more often.

So what PP levels do you come across in lobbies ? or prefer to race at ?

I know 450 and 500pp are common. any need for 475pp or cars tuned for 525 etc
 
Most room are anywhere between 550 an 600pp so i'd build a car at around 575pp and go up or down depending on the room as they are sometimes 560,580, ect.
 
i race pretty much exclusively in the 450 to 550 range on nurburgring. occasionally 400.

if i were to race the other tracks i could see it creeping to 600.

if you have a car tuned for 450 and another version of the same car for 500 you should be able to cover everything in between by either tuning up the 450 or tuning down the 500.
 
I see 500-550pp the most.
I like 550 a lot, mainly because it's not too fast where some people spin out all over the tracks, andthere's nice cars in the 550 range, exotics like the MP4-12C and the 458 Italia are in there. So overall it's not too fast but it's still fast enough to have fun. :)
 
As other members have posted, 500-600 PP are the common PP levels used online, as they're around the mark of sports/super cars, and everyone enjoys that car class, eh? :P Plus, as Vitzio stated cars between that PP range is not too fast nor too slow, and not too much tuning nor too little -- maybe not even any for that matter.


There's also a hint of 400-499 PP rooms too.
 
I see a little bit of everything. You probably want some cars set up like this:

Some max tuned with everything on them

Some 400, 450, 500, 550, 600PP

For online, set them up with Sports Soft tires and if the lobby uses racing soft, then you can upgrade and be OK. But, if you set up racing soft and switch to sports tires, you might have problems.

When you go online, be aware that fuel load and tire wear (among other things) will make your car handle differently. I recommend you run some laps in your own lounge to fine tune your cars before entering online races. Turn on tire wear.

Nothing is more irritating than waiting on people who to set up their cars while 12 other racers are ready to run. Remember - Set it up before you enter a race. Then do some fine tuning between races.
 
All my cars are tuned in my lounge with tyre wear on, thats no problem. Most have sports soft apart from the Italian exotics at 550pp+ where I use racing hard.
 
I tend to group my "Favourites" around 450pp, 500ppm 550pp and 600pp. Sometimes you hit lobbies with 475 or 525 but on most of my cars I can just remove a few parts or add a few parts quickly and use the engine limiter to get where I need to go. So I don't tune specifically for the odd pp levels but have the capability to adapt to them quickly if need be.
 
I've been doing it around the ring with 420 pp on comfort med's recently and had LOADS (I mean it) of fun trying to control those bulky station wagons :D
 
Yeah 550 is very popular because, possibly, the most number of cars are competitive due to it being a performance envelope where road cars meet racing cars. 👍
 
I agree about the 550 rooms, lot's of those. I also see a lot of 502 hp 1100 kg rooms due to a few GT500 rooms being up from time to time. That seems to be the sweet spot for performance online with those cars and others.
