Hi, i am looking for compact cockpit
actually most of those cockpit on the market take too many space and are quite heavy
e.g evo rseat
i want it small, light and easily movable
after googled, 2/3 cockpits caught my eyes
CSL SEAT
Playseat Challenge
GT Omega Wheel Stand

which one seems to be the best?

thanks you

I like the wheelstand plus separate seat option. Probably not as light as the CSL, but easy to fold up and stow someplace if you need to. I still use one as my "second rig" sometimes. The Playseat Challenge just looks too expensive for what it is.

The Wheelstand Pro is certainly a very good, cheaper, candidate. I haven't tried one myself, but I've heard they're very sturdy 👍.

Supposedly GT Omega will eventually sell a seat assembly portion for their wheel stand so you can make a very lightweight, small footprint cockpit.

Fanatec CSW and CSR Elite pedals
my own cockpit takes too many space, i think i am going to sell it for such compact cockpit
Wheelstand / GT Omega Wheelstand have my preference
i d rather buy GT Omega because Wheelstand has a ''central bar''
should i buy cheaper seat in order to match cockpit and seat?

I'm changing from Wheelstand Pro to Omega's. I don't like the middle pole on the Pro. I think Omega's is sturdier. Better for a more heavy wheel.

I don't think the playseat challenge can handle the heavy wheels very well.

I'm going to recommend these guys |SimRacing GrandStand| These guys make a great, compact, cost effective wheel stand that is modular, so you can keep upgrading it as budget, space allows.

I understand you don't have enough space, but having such high end hardware like a Fanatec CSW and pedals and getting a pseudo-cockpit for them doesn't sound right to me. I don't think your regular wheelstand can stand (no pun intended) the massive force of the CSW FF motor. Good luck though! The guys at ISR have reviewed a bunch of these wheelstands.

that why i wonder if these cockpit would fit to my Fanatec stuff
GT Omega seems to be more stable and sturdier than any kind of wheelstand
despite of his full compatibility with Fanatec, CSL Seat cannot be removable and take more place than others.
but the thing is i won't need to spend much more money for seat option (its included)
$225 + seat option for GT Omega
$399 CSL Seat
CSL Seat has more competitive price overall

anyone recommends me a chair that would be match with GT Omega Wheel Stand?
according right height, sturdiness...

ultimate,

GT Omega is supposed to be working on a seat attachment to their wheelstand, that way anyone who got it can upgrade to a full cockpit when they want. It's not on their store yet so might as well shoot them an e-mail and see what they say. If you do, please share the response here.

EDIT: You can see here, at the 10:10 mark:

Again, if you do contact them please let us know the answer, I'm interested in the seat attachment too.

Don't sell your cockpit, just do what I'm planning on doing, racing in the closet! Seriously!
Of course I need to wait until the Oculus Rift comes out first. Then I plan on moving my entire rig into a smallish closet downstairs and mounting either a nice quiet fan or small AC unit to control heat from the Computer, Tactlile, and other heat sources (like me after a long sweaty race). As long as its comfortable, who cares where you play?

Check it out, it appears GTOmega has started selling the seat frame for their wheelstand. Looks pretty cool for a starter cockpit. As per the video below, you can buy it with a seat or without. :)

I'm so tempted to order this as a backup cockpit for visiting friends. Must control self.

The Human Racing GT chassis is pretty damn tiny and its AWESOME. I have one and was surprised how small it was.

Hi there,

I've been using this rig for a month now, and have found the cockpit "small, light and easily movable".

It's the Trak Racer RS8 Mach II. Very sturdy, simple design, well built, and comes with TV stand.

Pic & vid of the rig in racing action below for your reference. Good luck with your racing pod.

Cheers mate

bump
after tough research, i came to conclusion and removed Playseat Challenge from my list
my final choice is between Omega GT Wheel Stand and CSL
both looks great, sturdy and really stable
CSL has a seat
Omega has a seat option but that will increase price and eventually loses its price benefit
considering if i pick Omega it will be without seat option (too expensive in my opinion)
Omega + desk chair or even using couch
does it worth more than using real cockpit with seat such as CSL?

I'd go with the CSL Seat.

One of the reasons I bought my Bob Earl Racing VRC mk2 was that I thought it was going to be lightweight and portable. After the whole rig is put together, it is still kinda heavy and very cumbersome to carry for one person.

if i bought a wheel stand, i would rather pick GT Omega Wheel Stand because it offers more solid construction and especially pedals plate that seems to be more sturdier than Wheel Stand Pro's one.

Hi guys,

searching the internet I have found some of you were about to change the Wheel Stand Pro for GT Omega Wheel stand.
I am about to buy T300RS + T3PA + TH8A (which is almost the same as T500 RS + TH8 RS shifter).
I am considering WSP or GT Omega Wheel stand (as I have a limited place in my room).
Could you please let me know if the GT Omega is more stable and better than WSP (did you have V2 Deluxe version? - it should be more rigid and stable than V1) or I should go rather with WSP?

For WSP I don't like the pole in the middle (does it really bothered you?) and no option for mounting the TH8RS/TH8A shifter in lower, for me more natural position (like in real car) - but I can I can DYI the own metal plate (some "Z-type" profil) and exhange it with original plate.

Thank you in advance for your opinion.

Hands on experience could prove otherwise, but I can't see any reason why the GT Omega is not significantly better than the WSP.
