British Racing Green Jaguar E-type Coupe '61, stock power but most other mods, no oil change, +200kg in the first race (Nurburgring) of the 1000 Miles!.

The car outclasses the field, but I finally began truly learning that circuit!

I get slightly better times with T-S2, but I found T-N3 ("Road") feel more natural to drive.

its really tough to pick a car that you really enjoy driving, but the one I think its a really great car its the 1987 Honda MUGEN MOTUL CIVIC Si race car. Just the sound and the handling of the car will surprise you. Great car 👍 :)

Hands down, mine is the '02 Jaguar XJ220 roadcar. It's medeira metallic with the ss concept rims. I took it for a spin on Midfield bone stock, and I could not believe how it handled compared to GT3. That's my all-time favorite. :)

my mildlt tuned 300zx is a great car. sticks if thats what you want or you can flick the bum out if thats what tickles your fancy....

for stock cars theres so many its not funny. generally i dont like neutral handling tho

Torquemada says, supercharged Buick '62! 820bhp at 1100 kg, and more torque than you know what to do with. Fun fun fun 'round the ring. The inimitable Torquemada pulled off a 6.28.xx clean lap in this puppy, and is hoping to get a sub 6mins one anytime (will post vid soon). It looks nice too.

"Torquemada is clinically insane, I mean, why else would he constantly refer to himself in the third person."
This quote attributable to the terrible yet benevolent Torquemada.

Having heard so much about it, I decided to have a first drive in the Amuse R1 in a single race on the 'Ring. Wound the difficulty up to 10, 196 A-Spec points if I win.

Man that S2000 is great, handles like nothing else. Even against a 410hp D1 RX7 I managed to win despite being horribly outclassed on the straights.

my favourite would have to be my rx-7 gt-x (fc). obviously, not the greatest car but very fun to drive if you master it.

the way the rear end whips out and is so easy to catch. this car around tight and twisty tracks is an absolute thrill to drive. i swear, driving on the line...it's like the car is dancing around the track.

...and i love my rotary cars, especially my rx-7's...
................sound of the rotary.............

Oh, what a splended topic! :)👍

I'd say the Protomotors Spira (In Italian Red, of course. :)) I love to whip it around Swedenkreuze (On the Nur) at more than 135 mph.

The Merc-Benz Evo II roadcar makes a great drift machine, as well does my 1969 Camaro.

Camaro Settings:

TCS/ASM off
1.5-way LSD
Carbon Driveshaft
Racing flywheel
Triple Plate Clutch
Oil Change
Everything else is stock.

Take her to the Camaro mfr. races on El Capitan reverse....

Just thought of another one. Subaru Legacy WRX typC.

Stock!!

I was really suprised how well this car handled out of the box.

Dosn't matter which track you go it. Its just a blast to drive.

I only fear that when I start to work on it, it will lose its fun factor.

Don't know if I would call it a favorite but I was so happy when I was finally able to get the Alpine A310 to drive like it wasn't on ice - and it was quite enjoyable too.

Tuscan Speed 6.

I've always loved this car in game, but mostly for sentimental reasons. After trudging through the hard times in GT3, I got this car, and man, did I fly. I don't drive it much now, because there's so many better cars out there.

My second favorite, based purely on performance, is the stock Volvo S6. It may be a dog speed wise compared to other cars, but the handling is too good to be true. The soft shocks also add a nice feeling of floating through turns.

any one ever try the Caterham Seven Fire Blade?
i love the lightweight cars that can just eat up corners.
or how about the delorean? drove it for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. after the first few laps, i had a smile across my face.

I absolutely adore the Mazda RX-7 Bathurst 01 :dopey: . Racing the Tuning Car Grand Prix with it was absolutely the most fun I had in front of my TV in a very long time. Intense and tight “on your toes racing” all the way with a car that really rewards you if you dare to challenge the track 👍 . Push it hard and it always comes back for more beating. Break late and turn while breaking and you can almost fell how the car is trying to help you. :sly:

How come this thread seems to have turned into a "Favourite cars" thread??

My most enjoyable experiences have come through watching videos of cars on the Nurburgring and then driving said cars on GT4, seems so much more enjoyable when you can see what its like in "real life" first, cars such as the M3 CSL and the Ruf Yellowbird spring to mind.

My other favourite experience was the first time i drove the TVR Speed 12 around the Sarthe circuit, that car is mental, but so rewarding when you put in a good lap!

regards

Dave

I think "the most enjoyable car" and "the favourite car" are two totally different things. My most enjoyable car is my first bought car just because it is my first bought car. I hear a whisper from the past every time I drive it but it isn't my favourite car. :)

Very good point, I'm always looking for more 'Ring videos for the same reason.

The most enjoyable driving experience to me is a good lap around the Nordschleife, not having any offs and getting at least 95% of all the turns right. That said, it's only happened a handful of times for me.

I agree, I bet Ive watched the Same RuF yellow Bird Vid and CSL Vid (The Guy with the RuF has a helecopter cam a few in and out of car cams too, pretty Nice Vid)

The CSL Vid I downloaded like a year and a half ago, I used to call it the "Tagged Track" for obvious reasons when I wasnt so familiar with the course. Sweet Vid though, got me hipped for The Ring, and made racing the track alot more fun.

I Even made a RuF at The Ring Vid, its in the Rac3rX Videos Thread in the Photto/Video Section.

Definatly my Lotus Esprit in the JGTC race on Fujii. I tuned it to 540BHP and awsome settings. I was searching for those perfect settings and now....today I got them. Pretty lucky huh? It sounds awsome, it accelerates awsome, and on fujii it's.........well no speed feel like that:drool:

I'll post up the settings and come back with em cause they're awsome. A must have IMO:tup:
And again it sounds AWSOME, especially when your about to switch gears it gives that nice "rrraawwrrr" just before it:cool:

And it won me the JGTC cup:sly: And it looks awsome and I got awsome BBS rims for it and it looks uber cool because the ride height is close to 0 for performence:sly::cool:

It's PERFECT!!!

Favorite car - The Nissan Skyline R34! I love that thing, Especially in GT3 on the Laguna Seca Cork-Screw. That reminds me...My fun times with that car is definatly at Laguna Seca. Its so fun to try to not have it spin out at the Cork-Screw :nervous: none the less the other parts of the track(When its fully tuned 👍 ). Another car is the Shelby '65 Cobra, I've always hated that thing with its handling but its another great experience trying to get some good T' times in that  . Fun times :) 👍

My favorite driving experience would have to come from the Lancia Stratos at the Le Sarthe II. It was only the second car I ever took to that track, and compared to the first car I took there (Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II), the Stratos was a revelation. At every turn, you're on the very edge of your traction limit, always threatened to completely lose it if you over step your boundaries. At speeds above 140 MPH, the car took on a mind of it's own and the slightest change in direction could and sometimes would cause the car to just lose it from the back. Then there was the braking at the end of the straight from above 150 MPH. If you were turning even a little whilst beginneing to brake, the, your entire view would soon be filled with the turn you just came out of.
My favorite racing moment would have to be a little different though. That comes from a race of which I was hotly outclassed, out powered, and out handled. It was the Nurburgring 4-Hour race in a DeLorean S2 against, among other things, a Lotus Elise 111R and a Opel Speedster Turbo. It was such a tough race, that not only did I just barely finish it, but I only finished it due to better pit strategy. The constant drifting I had to do to get that car through each turn and each nail-biting lap left me sweating profusely by the end of the race.

Actually that reminds me:

A great experience of mine was license test IA-16 (I think?...). The one with the Nissan LMP at Le Sarthe.

Coming out of all those technical tests, at low speeds in slow cars, and jumping into that thing blows your mind. Up until that point I was wondering how well my new GT4 would compel the feeling of speed. After hitting 340+ (kph) down the straight, the controller vibrating, the tyres chirping and the damn car wanting to take it's own route I'd found my answer - VERY BLOODY WELL!

That first run was scary... :scared:

Obviously that sensation has lessened now as I've played more, but this was the first "fast" car I drove in the game, and it gave me goose-bumps that's for sure. I can still remember it - :dopey:

haha i know what u mean i am driving the slowest cars starting from 1bhp upwards  im currently at 90bhp 👍 long way to go 💡

-anyway i know what u mean about driving slow cars and then doing the license tests with ultra fast cars- i was scared tooo :nervous: i couldn't beleive how fast these damn things go- in fact i had a blast in a db7 with no traction control and i was snaking it everywhere- scary stuff.

anyway im progressing thro the game very slowly working my way up 1bhp at a time- i race my all the cars at the 'ring so im learning every curve, my best is currently 8'35.xxx so by the time i get to the high powered things i probably be posting some of the fastest times outhere!!!!if i can control them ofcourse!!!!

sorry for going off course (err i mean off topic- lol that was a genuine mistake- **** i've become obsessed with gt4- oh well the name is justified afterall :P)
its just that i love this game too much :sly:

erm i am soo suprised too see so many posts-excellent stuff people 👍
i've read every post - great reading, thank you for taking the time to share your experiences 👍 👍 👍

Most memorable:

Mission 34. Winning that stupid race became an obsession. The SLR that they gave you drives like crap. My box stock one that i bought from the dealer to practice at the Nurb' felt better. No other race that came before or after was as exciting as this one. But with that said i'm glad its over.

Best Drive:

Perfect 4wd drift on the ice with my Subaru Rally car. I ended up winning the special stage event driving like that the entire time. I should've saved the replay, but i'll always remember it. I faint drifted every corner and was full throttling it by the time i exited. The computer driver didnt have a prayer against me. :dopey:

Most Favourite experience was taking the Honda City Turbo II around the ring... fully tuned i managed mid 7'00.00. Boy did it give me a shock, its a good little package and handles well, not much understeer too. I would suggest it for some good fun.
