Aside from the ones everyone asks about, 23, 34 I think...what missions do you hate the most? I'm hating 13 (Peugot at Paris Opera) right now. Power understeer sucks, and I REALLY hate the tracks in France. I thought 12 was kinda fun (the Ford GT at Laguna Seca) but 11 was a PAIN IN THE @$$! (2000GT at New York Reverse) Stupid soft suspension with the hated driving aids. There's a feature to have in future games...the ability to turn of driving aids in the ENTIRE GAME. Missions, licenses, races, all of it. Anyway, so what were your least favorite missions and why?

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a bit of difficulty with number 11. That thing took me FOREVER and for a while I wondered if I'd be able to get the Tank Car, Black F1 car and the coveted 100%.

I'm actually hating mission 12 right now. Mainly because Laguna Seca is one of my most hated tracks, so I feel I'm always going to loose. Mission 11 was very hard, but kinda fun at the same time. Accept when I lost by .3 of a second. I did eventually get it though.

At the risk of sounding big headed i did #11 first time without any difficulty at all but was (and still am!) brought crashing back to ground on #12 - I just cant drive laguna seca!! and the closest ive got is within about 2 seconds - so still a long way off. Ive also had a couple of goes at #13 and that seems hard too! dont like the feel of the 206?!
BUt i think #12 is my most hated mission so far. (I WILL pass it tonight though!!)

I used to feel the same way about Laguna Seca and I noticed everyone else who played did too, so I practiced a lot and got really good. I don't remember if it was GT1 or GT2, but now I LOVE the course.

Subarus @ Tsukuba.

Death to all Subaru 360s...

the one where you have to catch up with that slow car from 30 second disadvantage sucks so much. I don't know which one it is because im in some endurance race.

i dont hate any of them,if anything there actually challenging, unlike the regular races, after completing some of the missions my driving has improved alot,if your not that good of a driver go to mission hall youll get way better.

Same here. 11 took me two tries. 12 took me at least 15, maybe 20 tries. All I have left is mission 34.

Yeah, that too. F'in 360. I probably came within 1 sec of winning that a dozen times before finally beating it by 2 sec.

Actually I can't think of any I dislike, but then I am one of the weirdos that like the missions and licenses more than some of the stupid races. I have actually started over 5-6 times just so I could redo the missions and tests. :) I know... I gotta get a life.

Any of the missions where you sit on the start line whilst the rest of the field dribbles away, not because they are particulary hard, but because i just hate been stood there. I usually flick over and start watching TV, missing the start!!

Yeah, that was annoying too. I was 0.046 seconds from overtaking the 360 once. 🤬

The first right-hander, brake WAY before you want to, and ease power in through the turn. Same at the next right hander, but it's faster. Those two simple-looking turns can make a huge difference in the lap all by themselves.

I hate all of the 'one lap magic' missions because they make you sit there and wait... and wait... and wait...

... and wait...

Why did someone think this was good game design? Making the player sit there and wait for two minutes... can't fast forward... can't skip... can't do anything but rev your motor. Clearly, the game has the ability to start the scenario with cars already in positions around the track and running. Why could they not have done this?

I gave up on mission 34... not because it was too difficult. But because I got tired of the forced wait between attempts. This is a completely broken game mechanic.

I'm starting to feel the same way. I have a feeling that I would have beat 34 by now if it didn't take me 10 minutes every try. The 2 minute wait breaks up any kind of "flow" that I might have had. I need everything I can get. It kills me to finish 4 seconds out (that seems to be the wall I keep bashing my head into) and then have to sit there and wait for two minutes before I can try again.

Yeah - sorry I dont actually hate these missons - hang on - yes i do really hate them when im stuck!! But with a bit of perceverance I will come though. And as long as its before GT5 is released I dont care!

Exactly what I was going to answer.

Still, the one that I found the most difficult was the NSX Takata @ Suzuka (can't remember the number of the mission).

The only one I hate, is the one I get stuck on at any moment in time, which is the poxy NSX one lap "magic" at Sukuka.

No matter what I do I can't get it, I have skipped it and moved on, came back to it, still no joy.

Wierd thing is, that NSX handles SO differently to the one out of the mission its untrue, the one in the mission is snap-oversteer central.

Dan.

Yeah, that throws you for a loop. It's a good lesson though. That mission teaches you to do your braking in a straight line... which is something you aught to be doing anyway. And it does it by having a car which won't put up with turning under full brakes.

There's nothing wrong with the car, but it is totally unforgiving. Whereever it snap oversteers, use that as a signal that you have done something wrong in your driving. Correct your behavior, and you'll find yourself flying in that car.

It sure taught me a thing or two. :) My RL car doesn't have an attitude under braking like that... so I discovered that I had developed some bad habits just because the car would tolerate it.

I hated that 3 lap magic with the Ford GT. I'm sure a lot of people hated 34, but now that I look back at it and know how to drive the ring, its my favorite mission.

Oh, I'e almost forgot mission 14 around Seattle in that Charger. It made so mad, I almost broke my controller :dopey:

I for one must say that the worst mission I did was the Subarus at Tsukuba.. Don't really know why, because the car is ok and I THOUGHT I knew the track pretty good. Evenso I think I had to do the mission like 15 times before I got it.. The Ford GT at Lagun Seca took me a while too. Too used to Laguna Seca in GT3 still.. The "new layout" really throws me off, litteraly! :D For some reason that is beyond me, I managed to win M34 on my third try.. :dunce:

Cheers!

[RANT]That's the one that's giving me so much trouble right now. It's well nigh impossible with a DS2! Why do they have to make so many of these missions in cars with suspensions that are so ****ing soft?! Few (if any at all!) of the cars I own have suspensions soft enough to sway in a corner, then I hop in these sloth/cars and it's like driving a 1972 Cadillac! And it doesn't help that the stupid ASM and TCS are both set. I swear, I wanna find the guy who's resposible for coming up with driving aids, strap him to a chair, beat him with a hammer, then throw him screaming from a helicopter!
[/RANT]

Of course, possibly EVERYONE who has the NA version probably loathes mission 34 (got it done a few days ago, after a lot of failures and mishaps, and wishing I had the PAL version with their shorter wait time and slower 300SL. But I finally got the R89C and the coveted 100%). Definitely my least favorite. Aside from mission 34, I'd say my least favorite would have to be the one in the Superbird @ Seattle, mission 14. Anyway, it took FOREVER to come up with the right driving line to catch the Buick Special, but not as long as 34.
