Most hated mission?

That one's not too hard, really. Took me a few tries, but I got it. Most important, I think, is nailing the dual chicanes following the tunnel and downhill straight, and the sharp chicane right before the finish line. Now I'm on the next one, the Beetles at Suzuka. Man...what a pain. I HATE wrong wheel drive cars.

Sounds like fun... I actually never raced this track before so I spent about 20 minutes in the family cup with this car (which of course handles better outside mission hall :indiff: ) and was able to do some pretty good times so I think I just have to get used to the different handling. Thanks for the tip!

All missions are easy once you learn the track / car combination.
Mission 34 is the hardest as the track and car really tests the players learning ability.
I have had about 5 runs at 34 and my best so far is -15 seconds and a 3 rd place. I still have not managed a clean run.
However these few attempts have made me improve at the ring enough to earn a silver at S16. (71 gold and only 9 silvers left to gold)
The hard work is well worth it in the long run.

Well that reality of non-reality in the superbird mission is why I refuse to attempt it. Nor anymore of the missions, as they mostly take advantage of the lack of realism inherent in GT4 in order to provide a very difficult goal.

If I wanted goals based on unrealistic game play, I'd break out Ridge Racer. It's not real, but at least those cars can negotiate a turn.

Don't bother buying any games then. Go out and do racing in real life if that is what you really want.

could any one please help me how to win in the mission where u using a R34 in the boring test course.... its hard to catch up to the no 1 car, my best pace its only 2.5 sec behind that first car....

Oh come on, do you know how boring/easy the game would have been without it? I'm glad mission hall was in GT4

I couldn't agree more.

Mission 34 is the best boss level I have ever seen.

Awww, I actually liked that one! :D (And it didn't take me too many tries – four, I think.)

I don't have a particular one that I hate right now, though I imagine I'll really hate #34 when I get to it (waiting = damn waste of my time, and I kinda wish it was just a section of the 'ring instead of the whole thing).

Although I have not yet finished M34 if you stick at it you will end up enjoying the track.

I fear that if they did not put this mission and the license tests at the nurb in the game the only player to drive there would be B-spec Bob.

But having the tests and the mission there you end up knowing one of the most historic race tracks in the world and I would say it is a buzz going flat out around some sections.

People asked for the track but I don't think people expected it to be as hard as it is but once it is learnt it is no scarier than the test track.

Well, I like the 'ring and all, but asking for a Fastest Flying Lap on a track that long is a bit much (especially with that wait). I don't mind racing that course like, say, with the AI, because one slip-up 6 minutes in doesn't mean you have to start all over again.

If they split it up three ways, then made those three separate driving missions, I'd like that a lot more. :) (Kind of like what they do to some courses in the license tests.)

i love the ring i cant get enough of it, if i lived in germany i would drive there every weekend but not with a mec slr tha handles like a bar of soap in a tub.

There are various pieces of advice around as to how to do it. I am still not there yet but getting closer and getting confident.

If I was to do it again I would probably do it this way.

1. I would have a crack at it straight off just to see what it is like.

2. I would develop a plan - get a map and watch one of the videos to plan where to brake hard, where to go flat out etc. (and if you so desire where to cross the grass, wallride etc)

3. Run it at least 2 more times.

4. If you do not own the car get one. Put S2 tires on it with TCS at 2 and ASM off. Do a free run and try to go faster around each corner. When I say faster I mean in a racing sense ie if it means brake earlier and accelerate earlier then so be it, if it means higher speed around the whole corner then that is fine. The aim of this free run where one mistake does not kill the run your aim is to find the fast line but also the limits and preferably go slightly past the limits. In the game a practice run with no spins does not teach you everything.

If you are going at 100 around a certain corner it may be that 120 is the fastest safe speed for that corner. You will not know this until you try it at 125 or 130. This type of testing just frustrates you in the mission so do it in free run or even in the Nurb 4 hour race.

At the end of the day I believe you need to get to the stage where you are confident it can be done. I am at that stage now and have pretty much caught the 5th placed car where I need to. Now I just need to master the second half of the track and I will make it.

It is not a mission that can be won unless you have attacked the track either in free run or the mission itself. It is no Sunday drive but is winnable.

NTSC I presume.

I really feel for you guys. Although some of us PAL users license tests are harder.

I love the handling of all Mercs including this one. I know it handles differently in the PAL version compared to the NTSC. On the PAL version it is all about knowing its limits.

I wonder if it has hard tires in the NTSC version compared to medium in the PAL version. I tried to practice with hard tires and found it bared no resemblance to the one in the PAL mission but I have heard someone suggest that hard tires matches the mission version.

This car in the PAL version handles well given the power figures - especially considering the sports tires on it. After I have finished M34 I will try slicks and see how it feels.

i've done the 4 hour nurb on a spec like 8 times does that count ,oh btw i havent tried the misison in a while lol.

I know it gets like that. Even though I feel I am close to nailing it I also feel like having a break from it.

At the enduro what has been your best lap time ? I think the NTSC version needs a 7.09 (preferably better). Us lucky ones need a lap time of 7.21 which I have done in free run mode but I would have had 2x5 sec penalties in that so closer to 7.30 is what I have done.

Am I right in assuming you are trying it clean ? There are a couple of videos that have recently surfaced showing dirty runs one is NTSC and one is PAL.

well i havent driven the slr at nurg outside mission hall but with a stock BMW 33I with sports hard tires i've clocked a 7:55, and with a LenEvo VI tunned to 346 i've clocked a 7:14 with sports tires so i sould preety good at it by now. btw do you have some kind of messenger?

At work no, but at home yes - although it is under my wife's name. I will update my profile with it from home tonight.

kew lol this video is taking long to load 8kb a second wtf.... i have 1 mb cable it shouldnt be going that slow. anyways i think i could get the mission now in a couple of tries i know every single corner of the ring by memory now, so i shouldnt be caught off guard. what messenger do you have??

My wife has installed both yahoo and msn. I am trying to convince her to stick to one but she is resisting ie friends on both.

lol i have msn yahoo xfire icq*gasp* and something else i cant remember.

My wife's computer is running very slow - I may be wrong but I thought it was the 2 messengers clashing.

So is it only M34 you have not done or others as well.

I am confident that one of these days the Superbird at Seattle will be mine and the rally car at Paris. I struggle with the Beetles at Suzuka although have not tried too hard and I have not had a serious crack at M11 yet but from my recent license tests I don't think that will be a problem. I recently golded the Crossfire at New York and in the process learnt how bad my racing line had been there. Since the Toyota is so slow I think I should be ok.

34 is the only one i have left the rest were done like 3 months ago, 34 just takes time and patience i have a lot of it , but it take me borderline. the superbird one was easy for in 2nd try i got it and the bettel was a breeze i think i'm a faster driver the slower the car lol.

There is one thing I hate about the game - some people find race x easy, some find race y easy. It is perfectly understandable but when little old me is struggling with race x I get frustrated to hear someone else say it is easy - it is like "what am I missing here ?"

By the way that video is quite slow to download.

yeah i just cancelled the download i'll get it when i have patience, actually thats what i love about the game the variety and how it shows your driving character, i think its great, except for mission 34 in which almost 90% of the players are stumped lol.

Out of the missions from 11 up there is only one that I got first time and that is the mmr cup car. What does that say about my driving character ?
