What about Enslashay? That's a one-of-a-kind name. :p Actually, it's the most Insightful and Authoritative. Not the most serious. But I believe they've earnt it.

This is a precursor to a poll, being "who is the most serious/insightfull member of 2004". Since the funniest member of 2K4 came out, I figured "why not have a..." you get the idea. This is created to see who offered the best words of wisdom, or helped to controll a thread that went astray etc., and/or who was the most serious throughout the year. Anyone with over 3 nominations will be included in a final poll. Let the nominating begin!

I nominate M5Power, like it or not.

Note: Funniest members can still be nominated too.

Not the most serious?

I don't think anybody really understands what we're voting for though. I just picked one of the 10 different categories that PublicSecrecy mentioned in this haphazard nomination thread and ran with it. 👍

What are you talking about? You should give some examples.
All you have to do is go into most threads in the Cars In General Forum. In particular, check out the "Ford recalls the GT" thread. Someone mentions Consumer Reports, and good old M5Power decides he's gonna lose it and chastise the member for doing that. He also FREQUENTLY told others how stupid they were, called members idiots because they posted something he didn't agree with, and took it upon himself to yell and tell other members what they can and cannot post. The only thing he had going for him was that he had some facts and information to back up his opinions. But that in no way excuses his quick temper and ASS-like behaviour.

Heck, in the "Well, my parents just bought a 300C" thread I started, he attacked me for mentioning Car & Driver stats, then spun the entire thread off-topic by going on a rant about how their stats are invalid and anyone who uses / believes them is an idiot.

Bottom line, I'm very happy that M5Power has chosen to leave of his own volition. Perhaps the threads will be quiet for a while.

Continue this topic via PM, or some other external GTP source, guys. Things like this start unwanted arguments, and it's best if that doesn't happen.

Agreed. I was just responding to a request for details, but I suppose it would have been better handled in a PM...

I couldn't really narrow it down so I threw in a few extra similar words. I think Jordan has been very mature and insightfull. He reminds me of Optimus Prime. (The gorilla beastwar dude thing whos the leader of that show thing on those things you call "T-V"). I bet it's just eating away at M5Power reading this. hehehehe. I wanted to include all of them, since athoritative and mature or insightfull just weren't enough. To clear things up, I mean all 3.
[Edit] I have an iRiver .mp3 player! I got it last year, it's a "t185" series or somehting. [Edit]

[Edit2] Ok, the standings so far are:

M5Power: 6
toyomatt84: 2
Famine: 2
Neon_duke: 10
emad: 2
GoKents: 1
GilesGuthrie: 1
Viper Zero: 1
Burnout: 1
Milefile: 1

*I'm allowing you to say "x or y", but no more than once. Those are all I'm including, and multiple votes will be discarded.

Edited. Look up a couple posts.

[Edit] Has M5Power always had a short temper? Anyway, I voted for him because everyone he argues with seems to get owned with his never ending knowledge. Thats insightful part. I think the authoritative part is an understatement in terms of M5Power. To say the least. He was like crazy pissed off old grandpa who knew everyhting and you couldn't argue with him...only M5Power doesn't have a shotgun...I miss my puppy :( [Edit]

No. He just doesn't suffer fools gladly. He won't take crap from people who can't back up their opinions chapter and verse the way he can.

And, as an aside to Anderton Prime: I find your words in this thread to be particularly pompous and arrogant - especially in light of your prior existence as Anderton. That's all I'm going to say on this topic. If you feel the need to respond, please do via PM as requested by Jimmy.

And Stinky Chicken: that's precisely my point. Which word were you considering?

But this is what makes him funny.

Honestly, if you get stirred up by that, you've got problems. The ones that get stirred up are the ones I find funny.

Those definitions you linked in your post - to me, authoritative is defined as being in a posiition of authority, and authoritarian is defined as demanding people throw themselves at your feet in obedience, adoration or submission - and does prostrate not mean to put or throw flat with the face down, as in submission or adoration? ;)

But then it was probably as 3am when I read your post and I was dead on my feet (or arse, considering I was sitting) and I probably have no idea what I'm talking about! (Way to back out of a debate eh? )
