Have you ever bought a car in GT6 that was very expensive, only to find out it drove terribly? Or did you by a very cheap car that was way faster than the rest? Here you can discuss your opinions on the over/underpriced cars of GT6. Here's one from me. About six months ago I came across the Gillet Vertigo in the dealership, and I thought "Why not buy it?", since it had massive power and acceleration, which I had fun with in previous games. So I bought it, and when I drove it, it was one of the most undesirable cars that I've drove. I then thought "Why did I waste $1.4 million on a car that's almost undriveable?". So I want to hear your experiences on cars that you think you wasted money on, or ones that you found to be the most underpriced cars compared to their amazing performance.

I feel like the higher powered Vision GT cars like the SRT Tomahawk X and the Chaparral 2X are WAY underpriced. With Red Bull fighting power, 1 million is very little compared to 6 million. This also translates into being more accessible to trolls or inexperienced players, which generally wreak havoc with them online.

As for overpriced cars, the Audi R8 LMS (the standard LMS, not the Ultra) is overpriced for it's class at about 1.4 million, with other GT3 cars being availabe for 300,000 to 400,000, the price jump, for me at least, is not at all worth it.

A bunch of the concept cars are overpriced, like the 2001 Nissan GT-R Concept (Tokyo Motor Show). Also, why buy the $450,000 Nissan GT-R Black Mask when you can buy one for $78,000?

It's because they're VGT cars. I'm assuming that it's the VGT tradition to make them cost only 1,000,000.

On topic.

Overpriced? GT by Citroen Race Car.

You can get yourself a similarly classed race car with better performance for way less.

$1 million may seem like a lot for a car, but the performance of the GT-R Concept makes up for it. It is a good point though, that buying a $77,000 GT-R that has near identical performance as the $450,000 Black Mask is a good choice.

Two examples of some underpriced cars are: the 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and the 2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Both of their handling is quite responsive, and they're quick, nimble, and pretty fast when fully tuned. Back in GT5 you could get a 1997 Camaro Z28 for just $11,000 in the UCD, which was dirt cheap, and a 2000 Camaro SS would be around $14,000-16,000 at their lowest. Crazy how you could get a 300 horsepower Camaro for eleven thousand dollars, yet you could also get some obscure Kei thing for eleven thousand, as well. And they are still pretty inexpensive in GT6. I think both are around 20K.

I think the prices in game in a way reflect how much they costed in real life at the time.

For me, it's probably the 530,550 credit, 1996 Shelby Cobra 427. I mean, don't get me wrong, I could spend all day just looking at it. But when it came to driving it, I honestly was more entertained driving a 26,200 credit 2007 Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z. I don't know if it was it's cornering ability, it's speed, or maybe it was just the way it sounded. But I just didn't like it. I've bought it about 3 times now thinking each time I'll like it. But I usually just ended up selling it about 5 minutes later.

You beat me to it! 👍

Couldn't be more please with such a cheap car. :)

I think the most overpriced car in GT6 is definitely the Ford GT40 Racecar. I mean, a nearly undriveable Standard version racecar for 20,000,000 cr? I'm sure the car is amazing in real life and beautiful as well but c'mon, really? PD really messed that one up. And agreed, the ZZII is probably the best bang for the buck in my garage right now. It's great on all levels and very affordable. Thanks for the fresh threads @CowboyAce57

Haven't heard anybody mention the Supra RZ yet. When fully tuned it becomes a danger in the Route X lobbies, and can even beat the Huayra, TZ3, etc. Pretty good for a $45,000 car.

For me it's the Lamborghini Miura.

I know they made a 350-HP car 15,000,000 because it won some antique car show that Kaz likes, but it's just a virtual game. Add in the fact that it is one of the fastest opponents in some beginner-level races from GT5.

C'mon man.

This sums up my feelings exactly. Except that they should be in the 20,000,000 price range.

The cheap but effective cars to me are the...

1. premium Nissan S15 Silvia. I believe its the 2002 model. I used it for heaps of crap on the career race.

2. the two race spec C6 Z06 and ZR1 Corvettes. Extremely competitive for the money.

To the guy who hates the Shelby Cobra... they are great in the 500pp races.

However they get well out shape the more power you shove into them.

The current 550pp seasonals are hard with the Cobra.

The 7.5 million dollar Ferrari. The only thing good about it is its looks. Drives like crap. Oh, did I mention it's inctedibly expensive for being such a P.O.S? It's not even fun to drive. The 20 mill Ferrari (not the beautiful and amazing 330 P4) is also a peice of crap. I sold (although not quite as bad) I sold them both so gather funds for my Miura! Which is amazing!

Overpriced car: GT500 Stealth cars

Seriously? 1.1mil just for a GT liveried car plus only hp difference to their original counterpart? No thanks.

Underpriced car: Honda S2000 LM Race Car

This car never gets old. 30-60k for this? You got a cornering machine plus it has the S2000 GT1 sound from GT2.

221k for a 12C that beats out most of the machines that go up to 600pp stock is fine by me.

Most disappointed/overpriced:

Ford GT40 Race Car '69. Standard car with the H-shifter glitch. Kind of suspected the shifter wouldn't work properly before buying, but you'd think for 20mil they could have an accurately functioning gear box.

Most pleasantly surprised for the $:

Many, but for around 25,000 the Lan-Evo RS models are pretty good starter cars.

Most underpriced is easily the ZZII. You're getting a literal monster for only 60,000 credits. It's incredibly capable. I mean, you're getting 550hp in a car that weighs only 1 tonne!
That one was easy. I expected to pay way much more in GT5 and GT6 to snatch it. Happy I did not, since I basically finished most of the game with it.

Off-topic: Altough it did pain me to have no interior for 80% of GT6!

The Red Bull X2014 Junior is underpriced. Fun to have an open-wheel early on since it is overall lacking in the game, but still.

The Fords GT40 Race Car and Mark IV Race Car. I will never have the money to race these cars. Not with the price of all the LMP cars, which I have mixed feelings about their prices.

Another overpriced car in my opinion would be the Cizeta V16T. Heavy body and difficult MR drivetrain makes me want the far cheaper Ford GT.

From that list, I like the Prelude and PT Cruiser. They're fun to drive with the right upgrades :)

Most of the rally cars. You know the 750-850k 500pp things. Very limited use, You could use the sub $100k EVO or WRX rally instead?

I think there are heaps of million dollar money sink cars... they know people will be hitting $50 mil. sooner or later...

I'm assuming 'difficult' means that it suffers from snap oversteer like a RR car would rather than what a typical MR would.
If that's the case, I agree 100%
