Next challenge: doing 100% of the game with no mods at all (even tires must be the ones you've originally got on the cars), no driving aids and no B-Spec...

Now THAT's insane!!

Nice job man, I did exactly like you: I put all licenses gold and passed all missions before doing anything else. I just don't know if it's worth doing a thread about it tough...

I agree. Anyone that has that kind of time on their hands for a "game" must be a social recluse. I probably avg. 4-5 hrs of actual A-Spec driving and navigating through the menu and my wife thinks that's a lot.

i did that

check this topic: http://boards.ign.com/Gran_Turismo/b5208/85034930/p1

make sure you read the second page too :D

On the first post it says you have won 15,238,000 and have 12,314,180
on hand. Where did the did the million odd creds go? (this is before you bought the black cars)

Also, you indicated not having all golds. That should have given you a few more cars or did you work out that those extra cars were useless (for the purpose)?

cool, the first thing I did when I turned on the game was work on the Golds..

Just read the sig...

Golds aren't that hard. I'd say 100% is harder than 80 golds, but only because you have to win the missions (however, without M34, I'd say golding was harder... M34 is just that much of a pain when you first learn the ring (or at least in the NTSC versions))

Congrats though! 80 golds definately isnt easy, and welcome to the club.

As for me, my final task is coming towards completion. I have something like 550 cars now (including 1 of every used model), so maybe another 50 DTM spams and I'll have the complete garage! Other than that, I just have fun running the 'ring in german touring cars and the occasional slower model or LMP, and running Le Sarthe (I, II is just boring after a while) in crazy fast cars. Of course, theres always M34 to go back to for some adrenaline pumping fun...

the millions went into tuning cars....

and those cars were useless btw... if they were helpfull i would've won them ;)

For the one who asked about wheel or DS2 ... check my sig. I did it with wheel ..

on my first GT4 game I had 64 Gold and 16 Silver for licences

i was at 27% completion before by game data corrupted ( :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: )

then next time i get 80 golds on them and all of the driving missions complete within 200 days (all with DFP, hate DS2 :yuck: ) and all i have to do now is race!

I see. I re-read your post and realized you never said anything about not tuning cars. That is what I am trying to do so I must have read too fast.

How did you determine that the other prize cars were useless? (besides things like the model T and the Carriage)

What can I say? I find Mission 34 kind of fun.

Well, there goes that theory...

To go back to what some people were saying, I at least welcome the thread 'cuz there hasn't been anything really worth reading for me (read:IMO) on here in a little while.

What is really interesting to me, is that someone would want to do nothing but licenses with no racing, etc. in between. I'd probably have another mem card for the licenses, and one to do whatever on. Kudos to all with 100% and also to those with 80 golds. Rock on.

well... i needed an 80's Japanese car... when you check the Prizecar list you wont find any 80's japanese car...

same with the manufacture races i couldnt do... you wont win an Audi A3 or Chrysler Crossfire for example...

you wont win trucks either... this is how i went through all the prizecars and the races i needed to do...

and in that thread i came to a point where i couldnt win ANY car that would do me some races...

how the hell did you pull off that win with a 9'15"?! and good job on all the '10"s...

who wants to work on all those golds when you can cheat :)

Hehe, I think for that one, I missed a braking point and accidentally rammed the SL off the road. Then I felt bad for him, so I stopped right before crossing the finish line to see if he would ram me past the finish line. It was a little risky because I didn't know if he was smart enough to swerve out of the way, but I guess he wasn't and he "gave" me the win.

i also love mission 34, my best time is a 9.07.336, and i kept a replay because it was probably my best GT4 lap ever

Yes, the Benz motor Carriage has done the 'Ring, the black LMP cars are available to all, courses are found and mapped in the real-world environs, and everybody with a PS2 is suddenly a professional photographer. What crazy man (or woman) can top any of these feats? Well here's something you haven't seen yet:

These are vidcaps obtained by feeding the PS2 video to a digital camcorder, then dumping that to the computer.

When I lost my game data some weeks ago, at a bit over 12%, I decided a different sort of project was needed. I started a new game, turned off auto-save, took the GT3 cash, and went for the gold. I have not entered a single race yet. This is not a cheat. I have EVERY license best-lap replay on the card. I've done the initial oil change on the license prize cars that allow it, but that's it. No other expenditures.

So much hype
How much coffee did u drink :P

i think it takes uber amounts of time and a hell of alotta ballz to take on all gold medals.. I dont know whether to praise you or tell you to get a life

either way congrats,

Sorry dude. I'm not impressed at all. When GT2 first came out, I amazed everybody with a similar trick. And it wasn't patience or practice. It was a "STOP TIMER" code for a game shark. Park right at the line, reset the timer, and wait. The only time you had to re-boot was when you're reflexes were too slow.

Show me the full video of you getting the golds and I'll be impressed.

Oh yeah, after I played GT4 for 3 months straight WITHOUT codes, I started a second game WITH codes for kicks. 100%, no losses, & my times for all the races & missions are within .885 secs of what it actually takes to win, just in case anyone questioned it's "authenticity."

Why did I do it? Because I was tired of people pretending to be gaming gods who derived pleasure from fooling the naive. I did it to prove you couldn't tell a difference between a good gamer and a good cheater. (Except for one thing: A good cheater's greatest pleasure comes not froming beating the game, but from knowing they've fooled everyone else into believing they're actually a good gamer.) The rooster does all the crowing, but it's the hen that does all the work. ;-)
