10pm Wednesday: Sitting in my 18 year old bros room and we hear a metal against metal CLUNK. I remember several days before a lad about 17 knocking on the door and asking if an imaginary Simon lived at our house. As he walked off, he looked under my brothers motorbike cover. Anyway, I jump to the window and pull open the curtains to see a group of 4 or 5 people about 15-18 years old trying to lift the front wheel as they drag the bike out the front garden. I run downstairs, grab an ebony-cored snooker cue and pull the front door open. My brother shouted out the window and the legged it. Having no shoes on I couldn't catch them.
They jump on a group of mopeds round the corner and ride off.
We call the police. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
The bike (a 1990 Yamaha DTR125 traillie) wasn't damaged, but they cut the chain round the rear wheel, but couldn't get the disc lock off.
It's locked up in a neighbours alleyway now, with a new alarm and stronger chain.
But what really annoys me is that if I'd smacked one of them with my cue, the police would arrst me for assault and I would get charged, but they can't even be arsed to come out for about 8 people trying to steal his bike.
