I will start with the first:)

You all should at least once in your life expereince the sound (while riding) of a high performance V-twin Motorcyle with a loud full Race Exhaust System, accelerating to 10500rpm through a long tunnel. The noise is fantastic and makes me so happy everytime I have the opportunity to do this on my bike, like the thunder of the Gods.:scared:

When I rode through Norway a year and a Half ago, we must of came accross 20 or more tunels, some over a mile long, that dig straight through the Norwegian mountains, it was fantastic..we must have terrified many car drivers.:)

Feel free to add your own.

Nordschleife, Spa, 24 Heure Du Mans, Applecross Pass (Scotland), Goodwood

Dropping into third and flooring it in a tunnel whilst driving a supercar

Full throttle acceleration in an Italian supercar.
Nurburgring.
Rally driving at full throttle.

Driving a Range Rover up a muddy steep hill in the pouring rain

Make a full speed dash through Higgenbotham bottom in my 86.
Drive an AC Shelby Cobra.
Make a living out of driving/racing...:dopey:

Oh and I'd love to be able to drive a Carrera GT at least once. And I don't mean poodling around at 30mph either.

Driving a car sideways through the dirt.

Hanging onto the tail of a BMW/Porsche/anything fast through a mountain pass in a slow car. Watching the look of disbelief grow on the other driver's face as he continually fails to shake you.

Driving on a deserted highway or autobahn at over 250 km/h.

Getting bogged in... as in... well and truly stuck... off-road in torrential rain... in an off-roader, with the water coming in over the floorboards.

Driving down a coastal highway with the top down. Doesn't matter if you're in a Mercedes SLK, a Mazda Miata or a 1970's Beetle convertible... the net effect is the same.

Doing the same via scooter. In fact, doing a long road trip with nothing but 50ccs between your legs and God's own airconditioning blowing around your ears.

Oh. Beach picnic by firelight and headlights. :D

Since we seem to be doing this in threes...

1) Winter time hoonage on the backroads, several inches of snow included

2) Driving by the moonlight in the heat of the summer... Windows down, radio off, letting the road decide where you go for the night

3) Getting to have the pleasure of driving any vehicle with an engine that's a fair bit more powerful than it should be... Or that you should be handling

Absolutely amazing feeling right there. Drives like that have been the absolute best of my life.

Anyway, I'm sure experiencing silly big American V8 should be up here. Either that or one of those newfangled AMG V8s.

Cruising around in some proper mountains in the middle of the night when it's just you and the curves and the car and the trees is also a must do.

Drive the classic Route 66, Chicago to LA (with no cheating using too many Interstates). Followed by driving the entire Route 1 up the coast of California.

I've done this already, and it was the best thing I've ever done.

cross country in a sports car of some sort

drive 150 plus mph

control a slide in the dry at least once (do be careful that no one else is on the road!)

drive the tail of the dragon (if you're in the US, yet to do this one actually)

Done and done :)

Route 1 takes so damn long though. There is a shorter version of it when you get off the Golden Gate Bridge on the Marin side you take a left up a hill where it will turn into a awesome road on the coast. It ends up at Stinson Beach then you can take another road before you hit Point Reyes, you get a awesome road through the hills and forest and up and down 'Whites Hill' and then you will end up in my town of 7000 people!

- jump a humpback bridge
- drive a real mini round somewhere twisty
- road trip anywhere with mates and at least 2 other cars :D
- off road in a land rover in wales and go to at least 30 degrees, if not the full 45 :D in fact on the road too, with roof and doors removed and going at motorway speeds!

I think any good long road trip on a classic route would be a good one. I want to do the Washington loop of 101 sometime. And if I get a car to take to college I'm thinking about doing US-2 instead of the interstates for at least one trip.

I think any good hatchback would be great on some twisty roads...

The original Mini deserves it's own special mention, so much more fun than anything else that i've driven on the road.

Yes I would agree, a friends dad had an old Mini Cooper S all stripped out, with a Radford conversion and other mods. I think it had only about 70bhp but only tipped the scales at 500 odd kg, would top out at about 115mph apparently went around corners like it was on rails.

take a vehicle not MEANT for it sideways

save a critter's life by stopping dead while they're caught under a tire, or right over without HITTING it

zip through a missed redlight without hitting anybody at a crowded intersection.

- Drive on the full Nurburgring course (one of my many dreams).

- Hitting 300km/h on a car (did it a week ago on my friend's M3 - him driving)

- Being a passenger in one of these:

On a few of the best Special Stages around the globe, with the car driven by a top driver, at full blast. (note to self: extra underwear would be required every few minutes, pack plenty)

- I'll second (or third or whatever) the Route 66 thing, another one of my dreams. 👍

That left after the Golden Gate Bridge is the route I took. As you say, it's a fantastic road, if a little tight at first between a bank and lots of trees! My favourite section of the Route though was probably either side of Big Sur - I just remember it being smooth as anything, very twisty, and with awesome scenery. Apparently the bridge in the photo I took below is very well known for some reason, but I can't remember why and can't remember what it's called! Only that it's just south of Monterey bay on the Route.

I'm definitely going to do both journeys again someday, as soon as I have the money again!

well, at least I got on a piece of what's left of the original Lincoln Highway.
btw, you KNOW that somewhere on Route 66, somebody's adding a "radiator Springs" tourist Trap :P

and yes...I got a bit sideways coming home from a drop off, on dirt. I automatically corrected, but it did slide for about 3-5 seconds :D
