hmm.. imagine what F2 BMW 120i could do..

Would be interesting to see. I've actually seen fully JWRC/S1600 prepared E36 BMW 316i Compacts before (such as the one below) but it'd be nice to see a BMW at the top level again, just as the E30 M3s used to be for a while.

That 316i needs more M5 V10 motor. :trouble:

Sureshot, the NHRA is staying at 1000ft for the 2009 season according to the ESPN guys. The only way nitro cars will get to do the full 1/4 mile is overseas (Santa Pod in UK for example).....Gary Densham took advantage of that during last Christmas here in Australia, being the first FC driver to get a 4sec pass outside the USA with a nice 4.88 pass. :D

Nah, M62B44 will be enough when it's coupled to 6-speed manual and M-sport diff from 540i Sport. that'll keep the weight behind the front axle, won't cause cooling issues adn still has potential for nice power.

For NASCAR: Bring the Labor Day Weekend race back to Darlington. ;)

For GP2: How about a 'Americas' series with drivers, teams and tracks from the North, Central and South America?

:p

Trans-Am: Have it be a production-based series like it was when it originally started out. That's what I was envisioning when I first heard about Trans-Am announcing it was making a comeback.

F1: Use bernys same engine idea for 1 season, to see how it goes. if all the cars are the same speed then surely the racing will be better.

Nascar: Bring back the Superbirds.

Rally: Huge problem, hardly any competative drivers in the sport. Loeb is just to dominating.

Drag racing: Is still great to watch dont change anything. I love going to Santapod to watch it. And I love the drive home stinking of methenol lol. "hell I love the smell of methenol in the morning"

On the Loeb note, I've had a good, though none-too serious idea for improving motorsport as a whole - once a driver has won a championship, say, in Formula 1, give them one more year to defend their title and if they happen to win that year too (as Hakkinen did, and as Schumacher did), force them to move to a different motorsport discipline to try and win that too.

That way, Loeb would already be in something like touring cars by now, Schuey would have gone to rallying, there'd be some NASCAR driver in the WRC, Valentino Rossi would be doing the Le Mans series... you'd soon see who the real talents were - they'd be the ones who remained competitive whichever discipline you put them in. I'm still quite sure that people like Loeb, Rossi, Schuey and similar massively talented drivers would be right up at the front in other series if you put them there.

Best bit is when your driving along and if you get overtaken by any car it suddenly sounds like a top fueller!

I know how racing can be fixed. throw me in there! I could really kick some ass,and yes, really kick it hard, I have done it for real, so be quiet.

It was Max's idea, and having the same engine != same speed, it would just take away 1 more thing that makes F1 interesting.

More like "Huge problem, hardly any competitive cars in the sport. Citroën is just too dominating."

No, I'm not saying that Loeb isn't a good driver. He's one of the best ever. But when did he last have serious opposition that had a car as fast and as reliable as his? Back in the Kit Car days. Since then there have been the years Peugeot had a good car (and Grönholm took the championship), Subaru had a good car (and Solberg won), and then Peugeot totally blew it and Subaru blew it even more seriously. After that Ford picked up the pace to rival Citroën but the car kept breaking down... which it has done to this day. If the Focus stayed in one piece for the entire race Loeb would have a very serious contender in Hirvonen but it's incapable of that so there isn't much the driver can do.
