Vintage rallycross time.

Christer Bohlin was able to coax Gunde Svan onto his European RX team in 1994 with a specific promise. When this was not fulfilled, Svan later quit the team.

There are 2 parts to the question - firstly, what year did Gunde quit the team - and secondly, what did Christer's promise entail?

No idea. My guess is that Gunde quit in 1994 and that the promise was a race-winning package.

He got as far as the end of 1995 and was promised a championship winning car? :)
The end of 1995 is correct.

The second half is still getting there, but the correct answer requires some decent prior knowledge of ERX in that period.

That's my guess-karma all used up :D

Wild Guess; Bohlin had issues with getting a Driver due to no one wanting their cars due to a lack of success, so Bohlin coaxed Gunde Svan into joining the team saying that they'll get a Championship Winning Car

I guessed that, no dice :)

Looking at Gunde's Wiki he came third in 1995 so there was some potential... did Bohlin say he'd get a particular car but instead stick with Toyota?

I thought @Bo would want a deeper answer as it does require you to look at the history of ERX.

Another guess: Svan was actually having not much of an success so Bohlin invited him to the team promising him a Championship Winning Car, since Svan didn't win though, he boycotted the team.

He did indeed.

He was promised a Division 2 drive as part of his contract - this failed to materialise, so he felt no reason to continue.

I know nothing about that sport, it was good guesswork :D

Jenson Button won the 2009 F1 WDC in car number 22. Who was the last driver before 2009 to win the F1 WDC in a car bearing number 22?

For no extra points (it's not part of the question), what other coincidences does that throw up?

I want to say Lewis Hamilton in 2008, but I have a feeling he was actually in car 23? If it was 22 though, would that be the only time a number other than 1 has been on the champions car consecutively?

It is LH in 2008.

In fact, Lewis finished 5th at the Brazilian GP to claim the title driving car #22. Jenson did the exact same thing the following year.

Sorry @Pezzarinho17, you should have seized the opportunity more firmly! :(

@SVT Cobra GT has it; Lewis finished 5th at the Brazilian GP to claim the title in car #22, a British driver with a Mercedes engine. Jenson did exactly etc. etc. :)

EDIT: @Jimlaad43, I didn't know that! No points for you though :D

I'm going on a limb here and say No one, since I can't find anything

Some of you know that the '96 F1 World Champion Damon Hill can play guitar.

He did contribute a guitar solo to a song for a rock band as he lived next door to the bassist at the time. But what band was it?
