The first thing that sticks out is that they are all second-generation drivers. None of them is Graham Hill or Keke Rosberg's child so is it that they are the sons of non-world champions?

This is correct!

But Jolyon Palmer isn't there, so that doesn't fit

This is also correct :dunce:

(Ooopps, forgot about Jolyon)

Question in two parts. State the year(s), car(s) and driver(s).

1. When was the last time the F1 constructor's championship was won by a car with a production based engine?
(Bonus question: name any other production car based parts used on this car.)

2. When was the last time the F1 constructor's championship was won solely by the point contributions of only one driver?
(Bonus: Was there another time?)

1. 1966, Brabham. Wasn't the Repco engine based off a production engine?

2. Perhaps Lotus in 1972. Dave Walker scored duck egg that year and Emerson got all the glory.

Yes but there is something which links those particular drivers and not all the other drivers who won the opening races of a season.

Jody Scheckter won the opening race of 1977 and Nigel Mansell won the opening race of 1989 but aren't on that list.

Yes... but they did take the WDC. None of those drivers ever did.

?

Close enough.

And as for teammates of champions not scoring points occurring another time, does it have to be a teammate for the whole season? Michael Schumacher had three teammates in 1994; Verstappen and Lehto scored points but Herbert retired from both Japan and Australia.

Interested to know any details you have.

I don't know if this satisfies the question...

In the 2013 F1 World Championship, Sebastian Vettel won the drivers championship with 397 points, and combined Mercedes scored 360 points for second in the constructors championship.

This happened before in 2004 as well with Michael Schumacher scoring more points than BAR, and (if you exclude McLaren from the constructors championship) again in 2007 for Kimi Raikkonen.

Ah, very good. I misunderstood the second question.

Max Verstappen
I have no words for today. Raikkonen even raced against my dad.

Are Kimi Räikkönen, Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button the first drivers to race against two generational drivers in Formula One?

I can't think of anyone who raced against both Hills, Villeneuves, Nakajimas, Rosbergs, Stucks, Winkelhocks or Magnussens.

Ooh, I think Alain Prost and Riccardo Patrese raced against both Andrettis. Understandably, I'd forgotten about Michael Andretti...

I'm pretty sure Patrese raced against both Andrettis and both Fitipaldis.

I'm pretty sure Patrese raced against both Andrettis and both Fitipaldis.

Wilson Fittipaldi retired from F1 in 1975 and Patrese debuted in 1977. So on a strict father-son basis, he 'only' raced against the Andrettis.

It's not quite the same, but Barrichello and M. Schumacher raced against Ayrton and Bruno Senna.

Michael's 3 year break misse dhim the opportunity to race against both Piquet's and Nakajimas.

Reg and Tim Parnell in the 50's and 60's had a pretty close gap between their respective last and first races. Drivers to race against both include Stirling Moss and Roy Salvadori,

Maurice Trintignant there or thereabouts?

Finish the sequence: Max Verstappen Spain 2016, Sebastian Vettel Italy 2008, Fernando Alonso Hungary 2003, ?

You're 102 names short

Nah, I'm not (quite) that evil. Your go.

I just wasn't sure if you counted the Indy 500 in your list. So I added Bruce McLaren just in case. I honestly can't trace the youngest driver record further back than that.

My question. Only two Nascar races in History have featured 4 siblings in the same race. Name the siblings and races they happened at.
