Fiat is my guess... previous to the clarification... Back in the 1920s I believe they made first supercharged engine to win a race, although I'm not sure that race qualifies as a GP.

... and my dad told me never to guess...

OK, here's an easy one...

In what position did M Hakkinen finish in his last race at Spa-Francorchamps?

er... yeah, my bad... I should've asked for more, such as when was his last race at Spa... care to take a blow at that one, or you just want to wallow in victory over your answer ans shoot the next one?

I was referring to the fact that you're 19, and I'm... not

Out of all the Formula Nippon champions, can you name which ones have made it into Formula One?

I don't know if these are all, but... I know Robin Widdows was a bobsleigh driver and Ben Ponn was a skeet shooter. I believe they both raced in the 60s... Widdows did so for the Cooper team. Ponn raced in '62, for a Porsche-derived team, right? Are there any more? Those are the two I could find/remember.

As an aside, Jackie Stewart nearly made the British Olympic shooting team. I believe he was a reserve.

'spose it is...

Aside from the karting championships, what other championships has Pedro de la Rosa won?

Yuichi
Formula Renault, Formula Ford, Japanese F3, Formula Nippon.

The total number is 6... and a bonus-trickie... right on the ones you said, but you're lacking still... anyway, if no answer by tomorrow, I'll post it.

Very good , Yuichi!

- Formula Renault: Yep
- Formula Ford: Yep
- Japanese F3: Yep
- Formula Nippon/Formula 3000: Yep

Are you sure about him winning in JGTC? I don't have a record of him even racing. The last one/tricky one is Formula RC (as in Remote Controlled) in the mid 80s.

I see you've visited pedrodelarosa.com he he... that's where I got the original info as well.

Look at young Pedro!

Of course, back then he was plain Pedro Martinez, I believe. Anyway, great job! Your go now

This year, Kenny Brack out-qualified the pole-sitter, Tony Kanaan, but started 23rd in this year's Indy 500. Who was the last driver to have out-qualified pole position, but started back in the field?

I'm not going to answer until someone else joins in the thread... this isn't the Diego440 & Yuichi's Motorsport Trivia Thread... it shouldn't be just him and myself throwing questions and answers at each other.

Oh, sorry... I'm just performing the "foot-into-mouth" technique... I hate these IRL/Indy questions.... still, good to see others are at least looking around.

EDIT: Ten minutes later...

Was it Arie Luyendyk, in 1996?

daan
I'm here. I just didn't know any of them.

Ditto. I had a great website with loads of stuff about the Indy 500 - and now I've lost the link. Bother.
