Patrick Tambay?
Ding! Ding! Ding!

If you know the answer, say it and win...
I knew it, but only because I looked it up after posting my guess of Coulthard. Saying it would have been totally against the spirit of the thread. I was just playing the role of quizmaster for a couple of hours between then and now by saying yes/no.

Going off a question on the previous page, Lewis Hamilton has a very good record of winning the available Grands Prix he has competed in. Of all the ones he has raced in, he's only failed to win in Mexico (2015), Austria (2014-15), Brazil (2007-), France (2007-08), India (2011-13) and Korea (2010-13). Just six. "Europe" (2007-2012) might count but he has clearly won Grands Prix in Europe, and in Spain and Germany where these races were held, just not at a designated European Grand Prix. He stands a very good chance of wiping Brazil off that list though.

Vettel aces it at present though. As well as the obvious answers of Mexico (2015), Russia (2014-15) and Austria (2014-15), the only other race he's failed to win is the French Grand Prix (2007-08), during the time he was at BMW and Toro Rosso.

I quickly saw in the F1 Racing Magazine that, given the choice of either Forza or Gran Turismo, Valtteri Bottas would choose Gran Turismo. He goes on to say that he would like to race on Deep Forest in real life as he likes the fast corners and undulations.

Which Formula One team has used the most engine suppliers?

I'd guess Williams? They've been powered by Mercedes, Toyota, Renault, Honda, Judd, Ford, and that Supertec/Mechacrome/whatever it was called in the late 90s. There may be others, but that's all I can think of without looking it up.

There will no doubt be some split hairs on this but if we count Mecachrome and Supertec as one, Williams have had eight different suppliers; Ford (1977-1983, 2006, 2010-11), Honda (1983-1987), Judd (1988), Renault (1989-1997, 2012-2013), Mecachrome/Supertec (1998-1999), BMW (2000-2005), Toyota (2007-2009) and Mercedes-Benz (2014-).

Not the most though.

Another great guess but they 'only' utilised seven; Climax (1962-1966), Repco (1966-1968), Ford (1969-1975, 1979-1982), Alfa Romeo (1976-1979), BMW (1982-1987), Judd (1989-1990, 1992) and Yamaha (1991).

Just seven, I'm afraid; Ford (1966, 1968-1983, 1993) Serenissima (1966), BRM (1967-1968), Porsche (1983-1987), Honda (1988-1992, 2015-), Peugeot (1994), Mercedes-Benz (1995-2014).

Comparatively few. Five for Tyrrell; Ford (1968-1985, 1987-1990, 1997-1998), Renault (1985-1986), Honda (1991), Ilmor (1992) and Yamaha (1993-1996).

Would you count Lotus across all of their incarnations?

Possibly Sauber or Arrows, but part of me hopes it is a really obscure answer. Like Mercedes Benz or Ferrari obscure!!!

Lotus have had 14
Ford Cosworth
Renault
Climax
BRM
Honda
Judd
Cosworth
Mercedes
Mugen Honda
Lamborghini
Pratt & Whitney
Ford
Maserati
Borgward

This is where it gets interesting. I have many quibbles with engine suppliers and their 'official' designations. I did some research on this and have gross tallies and net tallies for teams if some suppliers are considered one and the same.

For the purposes of this question, Ford and Cosworth were treated as one. Their work together and badging was incredibly close. However...

Would you count Lotus across all of their incarnations?

Lotus died in 1994. But they did have nine gross engine suppliers; Climax (1958-1967), BRM (1966-1967), Ford (1967-1983, 1992-1993), Pratt & Whitney (1971), Renault (1983-1986), Honda (1987-1988), Judd (1989, 1991), Lamborghini (1990) and Mugen-Honda (1994).

Eight net if you consider Mugen-Honda and Honda to be the same.

Possibly Sauber or Arrows, but part of me hopes it is a really obscure answer. Like Mercedes Benz or Ferrari obscure!!!

Sauber have had four net engine suppliers; Mercedes-Benz (1993-1994), Ford (1995-1996) and Ferrari (1997-2005, 2010-).

Five gross if you count Ilmor (1993) as different to Mercedes-Benz (1994), considering it was a Mercedes-Benz engine built by Ilmor but with an Ilmor badge in case the project flopped. All subsequent Mercedes-Benz F1 engines were also still Ilmors.

BMW Sauber was a BMW works team and different.

Arrows was the all-time best I found with ten gross suppliers; Ford (1978-1984, 1989-1990, 1991, 1994, 2002), BMW (1984-1986), Megatron (1987-1988), Porsche (1991), Mugen-Honda (1992-1993), Hart (1995-1996), Yamaha (1997), Arrows (1998-1999), Supertec (2000), Peugeot (2001)

But you could consider it nine net suppliers if Hart and Arrows' own engines are considered the same supplier; Arrows simply bought Brian Hart Engines Ltd. Even Megatron was to BMW what Supertec and Mecachrome were to Renault.

So for me it's Arrows 10 (9) to Lotus' 9 (8) and Pezzarinho's turn to ask.

Maserati
Borgward

I said which team not which constructor. And as noted above, the Lotuses of the 2010s aren't the same as that which died a death in 1994. "Lotus Pacific" my arse.

I apologise that my question will be easy compared to previous...

Name in order the 4 countries that have produced the most Formula 1 drivers.

At a guess: Germany, Italy, Great Britain, and United States (assuming you're counting anyone who entered the Indy 500 when it was a championship race as a driver).

Assuming that guesses are listed in ascending order:
@TheBook 3 are correct answers, 1 is also in correct order
@TenEightyOne 3, 0

(Advance warning - apology for the delay in my response after this, I'll be driving home for the next hour!)

I didn't think about France...

In ascending order: USA, Italy, France, GBR?
