Not sure if this has been asked before, but I've been wondering since months ago, why does the Motul Autech GT-R have 50 BHP less than the other GT-R's and weighs more?

Does this have anything to do with the car having pole position in real life at the moment they made the game or something? (restrictions)

I didnt know there was a power difference... I think its the same with the other level 19 GTR though. They even look different. On the panel directly behind the front wheels, the Level 20 GTR's have vents that the level 19 ones dont have. Also the Calsonic in arcade(lvl 20) seems to handle better. I know the category has weight penalties for good results
Oh well, my Motul Autech GTR hasnt had any issues winning races so.. meh

EDIT: After some googling, the Motul Autech and WOODONE ADVAN Clarion GT-R seemed to be at the sharp end of the pack in a few races... Maybe some success ballast?

It might be possible that the Motul Autech GT-R in GT5 is modeled from the car at the start of 2008 season. Shortly into the 2008 season, additional power restrictors and 'performance adjustment' weights were imposed on GT-R teams, thus the GT-R was producing less power and carried more weight than the NSX/SC430 due to its supposedly overwhelming performance advantage after Rd.1 Suzuka and Rd.2 Okayama.

Does the Motul GT-R use the same steering wheel as the Xanavi Z? The GT-R used the Z's steering wheel mid-way into 2008 season, before it changed to the more rectangular layout. The 4 other GT-Rs also have additional air vents on the front fenders and under the canards. Why PD chose to model the 5 '08 GT-Rs this way is another story.

Thanks guys. I just don't know why....I mean, the Motul is my favorite GT-R GT500 but with this nonsense I think I'll go for the Xanavi GT-R first.

there is a difference in bonnets (hood).the outer fins on the hood are thin, then the next fins, toward the center, are wider.behind the fins is different.there seems to be 2 exits for hot air(i presume).then some have the 2 exits, without the fins on the side.im sick of looking at them nows so thats all i found.cheers

The stats given in the Dealership is wrong. When I bought the car it has the same power/weight as the other Nissan GT500 GTR race cars.

The Motul has 518 hp like every other GTR and it has 30 kg ballast becouse it was dominating in 2008 season.

the funny thing is when the MOTUL is maxed out it has more HP than the Xanavi, my MOTUL is around 720 while the Xanavi maxes out at 711HP

I think it's because it has a short wheel base and it will turn sharper and it will be better on tracks with many sharp turns but on highspeed tracks it will be slower correct me if I'm wrong :)

The NSXs have to carry additional weight as well. It's a penalty to make up for the advantage they get from being mid engined.

Same with the NSXs and the SC 430s.

But any performance differences on paper, don't really show up in an actual race as all of these cars will lap a track with only 1-3 seconds of difference.

Generally the NSXs are fastest, followed by the GT-Rs and Z, then the SC 430s will bring up the rear.

I noticed that the Woodone Clarion GT-R and the Motul Autech GT-R have less torque than their level 21 counterparts. And the Z is generally faster in corners than the NSX NA2 on torque figures alone, but the AI using this at Indy will not win vs. the NSX NA2 (AI controlled).

I have the '08 Nismo GT-R, but a friend of mine has the Motul Autech (showroom default power levels) and it is relatively similar in speed to my Nismo.
