Mounting to the supplied shifter arm leaves the shifter knob too high for my preference. Would like to hear ideas on this.

Thanks in advance.

Give me some time and I'll get some pics of what I did.......but a hacksaw is required!

Edit:

Ok.....here's how mine sits on my Ozone.....for me the shifter location and height is perfect for either shift knob included with the CSS SQ

First order of business is the mount that bolts to the rail......you need to mount it onto the two most forward holes on the rail

Next......you need to cut the shifter mount off right above the 90* point so all you have is the plate and the round tube left

Next.....you need to cut the width of the shifter mounting plate as it will be too wide and will hit the seat bolster. What I did was place my CSS right to edge on the right side of the plate and scribed a cut line on the left side of the plate that matched the width of the CSS base. It will still be up against the seat depending on your seat location but it won't dig into it like it would with the plate left stock. You can see it illustrated in the pic below. You can also see how I located the holes for mounting as well as the cuts I made on the square support tube to have easy access for installing and tightening said bolts. You should be able to figure out how I went about locating the bolt holes from this pic as well

Lastly of course I carefully filed all the cut edges, rounded off all the corners, sanded it and repainted it with some flat black Tremclad. And a nice side benefit from this mod.......it's WAY more stable than the stock Obutto shift mount which is stupidly long IMO

Wow - Thank you so much Hawk !!

So nice of you to take the time to reply with all the details and pictures

My Milwaukee Sawzall will easily cut through the tubing. As far as cutting off a section of the mounting plate, how did you do that?

Scribed a line and carefully sawed it off with my hacksaw

I preordered mine the other day, I know it will be awhile before I get it but I am preparing :) Can the shifter be mounted on any side or just the bottom? I see a lot ordering the table clamp for it, but I see no need when I can drill my revolution shifter mount.
