moving black pixel/dot

for some reason i have this single dot moving about my screen.....i'm not sure what it is really, so i'm asking if anyone else has had this problem with their LCD monitor.

i have ran a quick scan with avast, and it found something, but the dot was still about...think you guys can help?
 
from what i think, it moves continuously, but when i turn of the scree and turn it back on, it moves from where it stops

You may actually have a bug in your monitor, as in the 6-legged insect.

thats what my brother was telling me, but is there a way i can it out? but then again, it only seems to be a pixel big, is that really a bug?
 
It's got to be.

Unless you're a dab hand at taking stuff apart there's little you can do except hope it dies in a corner or something.
 
well i'll see what happens in a few hours or days. i'll give an update if its still there or if i don't solve the problem




6pm......the dot is back again...it was gone for about 3 hours, but is not moving around again...woooo....:banghead:

Break out the screwdriver! :)
 
Try a different resolution, refresh rate, etc. see what it does. It may be an artifact of matching the PC resolution to the screen's native resolution. I would expect to see more than one in that case, but who knows?
 
well its gone now...it was actually gone yesterday (march 19) but i totally forgot about my thread :D
