Mp3 player not detecting.

So I bought a mp3 player today, the muvo slim by creative lab and im having some trouble with it. I cant get my computer to recongnize it at all, I heard that it should just pop up in "my computer" as a removable usb device on xp. I installed the drivers that came on the install cd but still no luck. Im running xp and usb 1.1

I realy want this thing to work, help me please

Are you sure the MuVo Slim even supports USB1.1? Some MP3 players need USB2.0 to work.

Yea it says on the back it supports both 2.0 and 1.1

Update your USB drivers via the internet.

Where can I get this update? I looked on the windows site and didnt find any.

From your computer manufacturer's website.

While in the File Manager (aka. explorer), look for the Control Panel. Then go to System. Underneath the Hardware tab, you'll find a button for Device Manager. Click that. Now, scroll down to USB devices and right click any/all underneath it and look at their properties. There should be a button saying "Update Drivers". Click it.

I did all that last night everything was all up to date, Im going to try doing the enableing the usb in BIOS. Im not too sure if this is the problem because other devices work fine but its the only thing I can think of right now.

Okay so I tryed everything and it still doesint work, im too frustrated to even care any more im leaving in a few minutes to return it. Probly gonna pick up a capture card and halo 2, that should get me amped again. Thanks for all the help anyways.
