Mt. Chiliad Challenge Climb!

Here's the challenge (if anyone is interested).

Take any vehicle - apart from flying vehicles like planes and choppers or the jetpack - to the foot of Mt. Chiliad. Take it the finishing line of the mountain bike challenge (the ring of ProLaps banners). Park right under the finish line and wait for the clock to change from xx:59 to xx:00 and start your run! When you get to the top, stop on the wooden observation platform and check your time. You can use any route you wish to get to the top.

I've been browsing the 'net looking for vehicle spawn cheats so I don't have to hunt down vehicles to use, but it looks like most of the vehicles in the game don't have spawn cheats so I'll have to hunt them down and drive them to Mt. Chiliad which is of course in the middle of nowhere.

why dont you create a leaderboard for cars and bikes? e.g:

I'll see how much interest there is first - this forum is pretty much a ghost town these days. Any times that are posted I'll edit into the OP.

i just attempted to go up the mountaIN with a subary rally type car :s

i crashed it into a river before i got there

Good to see the idea came to life. 👍

I'll get my times up when I get home form school. I plan on using a Dune, a Sanchez, and a Sultan.

and on the way down after driving off the edge i got a 1597 degrees stunt!!!
 
I know i keep going on about the swat, but, it can drive up the STEEPEST hills, no problem, the power it creates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried it earlier with the sultan. I was round about the 5 mark. But I took the 'normal route' instead of the downhill route.
 
This thread will likely die with the GTA:SA WRS having started, but I thought I'd add a few times I ran over the holidays.

NRG500 - 1:29 (I knew it was faster than the sanchez)
Taxi - 2:29 (with NOS)
Taxi - 2:38 (No NOS)
Roadtrain - 3:56 (With a trailer)
Forklift - 4:31 (In reverse - no grip going forwards)
Dozer - 5:07 (Slowest of the slow)
 
Anybody try a mountain bike yet? That thing can zip up a 70 degree incline easy.

My copy of SA is in disrepair so I can't get in on this or the WRS, as much as I'd love to. :grumpy:
 
Just for fun I gave it a go in the vortex (hovercraft). On the second attempt I even succedded in getting to the top, and in a time of just 3:58 - only 2 seconds slower than an 18 wheeler (Roadtrain + trailer).

Surprisingly the 18 wheeler flew better on the way back down!
 
haven't posted here in a while, i've ben playing other games, the leaderboard looks good! il be trying to knock you off when im back on gta

1:51 Sandking
2:05 FBI Rancher
2:08 Huntley
2:10 Monster
2:11 Dune
I managed a 1:42 on the mountain bike, its possible to do it quicker but your thumb may fall off.:)
 
Car-less

With the Vortex don't go off the ramp, - just run over the side next to the platform.
The key to a succesful flight is going off with as much speed as possible and at the proper angle (slightly downwards), - then when it picks up speed lean backwards and maintain a constant up angle.
My record sofar is to the Flint Intersection bridge.
