I know this has been brought up in various threads, but I believe it deserves more attention.
Last night, just like every night, since the last update, my sound has been jittery when I have taken my room to Mt. Panorama.

But last night the sound cut out completely and my whole system froze up. Triple beeped, and then about an hour of system rebuild.

Mt. Panorama is my favorite track. (that is why I care so much)

I noticed the sound problems right after the last update, but I loved the track and still tried to run it.,

I have asked other friends, like @Billsippi and they have the same problem.

Who else is having sound trouble at Mt. Panorama?

I think it was that track where it happened to me a few days ago. The sounds wasn't entirely gone, just most layers, leaving just the quiet 'wheeze' of presumably the turbo, so that my GTS sounded more like an electric car. I know Bathurst was one of the tracks that previously had engine sound issues up until the first corner, same as Rome - but this lasted for the entire race. No system lockup though.

Yep, you aren't the only one. Upon progress of taking this picture quite some time ago, it happened. I shrugged it off until i realized i haven't been to Panorama often.

Initially i thought it was a photomode issue, but it seems it's more. Like you said, sounds jitter and game messes up, and my console will do it's own dirty work (A 250 GB Slim).

Yeah.. Euston, there IS a problem.

Same here I thought It was just me. I tuned the suburu brz and everytime I drive it on this track I can only hear my spoilers blowout when the flames come out. No shifting noise or reving

Nope, not a single issue at Bathurst, and I have more than 4000kmh there, might be close to 5000km now, spent most on online track day, offline test drive ( tuning/testing replicas ) and some arcade races in the rain.

Also, not a single triple beep ever :D I used to have YLOD Slim, repetitive triple beeps were the 1st early symptoms - started as rare occurrences then it became more often then bam, YLOD :(

Never had any sound issues, but previous weekend I had the first sound-crash, at Mt.Panorama. Did't happen again so far though.

This is definitely not a new issue, I had it the first week of release. They really need to fix it, I can't drive at Panorama at all. :(

Oh, and just as a side note, the system rebuild time isn't about how bad the crash was, but how much storage has been used. The more, the longer.

Every time I go there with my friends online, the mics get a bit choppy when we talk, the music slows down a bit, and the menu sounds kinda echo and act funny. But when we all enter the track it's fine again.

I've had and continue to have problems with sound cutting out for up to a full second on Bathurst, Spa, Silverstone and Monza since the last update, happens mostly at Bathurst and Monza.

Frame rate and screen tearing is another story...

The last update actually made the frame rate a lot more consistent and smoother, I drove at Silverstone GP in almost every play session tuning/testing GT3 replicas, never have any issues, butter smooth FPS as well.

The last update has caused major audio issues for most people when in the online Mount Panorama home screen, but the problem disappears when you go to the track.

The symptoms mentioned in the above posts are all symptomatic of what many are experiencing.
Needs to be fixed ASAP!!!

My friends and I have been having issues online with Mt Pano aswell.

Headset sound cuts in and out, game freezes. It is annoying.

This has been happening since I first bought the game every time I would leave the track the sound cuts out and I have to either drj e back into the sand at high speed or cause a big accident

Since 1.06 I've suffered one freeze at Bathurst, during a photoshoot.
No sound issues there though, but I do suffer from no in-car sound at Fuji and Nürburgring during the Red Bull Standards Championship every now and again.

I've had this problem from day one. The sound completely cuts out while I drive on the bottom section of the track, on or near the pit straight. It usually cuts out for a second or two, but on one case the sound remained off even when I returned to the career home screen.

Annoying glitch, as it's my favourite circuit.

I started a quick test room this afternoon after I updated.

The sound problem was not fixed.

Has anyone solved this? I hear a lot of problems are solved by deleting all of the game data and reinstalling. Has anyone tried this?

This is my favorite track - I really want to race there again.

I have tried deleting all game data myself, no luck.
Have tried all sound output modes with all speaker configs through both optical, USB headset and HDMI for audio (in game and out of game settings) No luck.

Back when 1.06 firm was released, the problem of sound distorting, to the point where everything was inaudible in the room lobby and inevitably crashing, was not just limited to Bathurst, I also experienced it at Nurb and a few other time/weather variable tracks. Shortly after patch release, only Bathurst (for myself and from memory all the regulars I race with) is currently affected by this anomaly.

As Bathurst is fine offline mode even with AI, the only common trend i can see is the variable weather/time and the way it is linked during online mode and it's netcode (could be wrong)

Maybe it's a processing power issue, where the stresses of processing the track as well as the net code functions is causing sound processing to be "left out" I might try dropping the res down to 720p in game and see if issue still occurs (unless someone has tried this and can rule it out) There seems to be no pattern in relation to those affected, and those reporting not affected.

I myself have clocked up (from memory) around 18,000km there, but have not had a single race there (in a multiplayer environment) since patch 1.06 was released :( it saddens me.

I've found that not only engine audio but the menu music (that you can not turn off) actually slows down and drags.
Definitely a memory problem with this track. Have not experienced with other tracks I use regularly.
I have not seen this issue on other tracks, but I would believe that it does happen on other courses that need memory to produce detailed image. On-line you might try lowering the Race Quality when you create the room.
I would also shut off any background music that you normally use.

I have tested all the race/chat quality settings in conjunction with the different sound formats (took a while) and at no time was there any improvement/change at all. Haven't come across any sound issues on any other tracks. You would think if it was memory limitations, an online race at 24hr Nurb, with full weather in affect with 12 racers over 5 laps would stress the system, so it points at major flaws in the track build itself. I know the first gen version of Bathurst had a visibility bug where coming through the dipper, the frame rate dropped substantially as you could see the pit complex through the trees and the ps3 had issues rendering it.

Yep this problem happens to me every time I use Bathurst online..freeze crash reboot...the first time I noticed it..my amp asked to be reset..it's never done that before...I use optical...tried different settings ...night day .change cars..still no luck...one more thing...when tried round 3 academy sound jitterd momentarily..but has been fine since...

Yep, my amps turns itself off too. Ive even noticed doing the Academy i get the occasional sound hiccup, and restarting the run takes about 10 seconds of black screen before it loads :-/

This might be memory/sound "driver" problem, I have this distortion really often on Bathurst but now after two years put Dirt3 on ps3 and I got that same distortion on first "ego"-block screen what game uses on "loading" picture when you start it, this happened after playing GT6 first and then doing fresh install of dirt 3 on it.
After full power off this didn't happen again.

So I'm starting to point PS3 firmware and "sound driver" what handles sound on Linux core, GT6 is using Linux sound part someway wicked way, or corrupting memory what it uses.

Going to test this also on my other ps3's too.
Unlucky at all of them are running same newest firmware.

At first it was just jittery sound after the 1.06 update. I did have a friend though, @Billsippi, that said his sound would go out completely. I never had that problem.

Now though, my PS3 completely freezes. I have to push the power button on the system to turn it off, and then I get the triple beep.

This sucks so bad - My favorite track.:(

I've also had some sound problems on Mt. Panorama. My surround sound set seems to just cut out on that track. I'll try some of the suggestions on this thread and see if it works for me.

No probs on Bathurst (visual or sound) and it is my second fav track with more than 10k km done.Got disc version and slim 120gb PS3.

Bathurst track is streamed (not loaded at once in memory as some smaller tracks are) so it could be Br streaming/reading issue.

If you got setup default GT music , go into gallery > playlists > and delete all songs from race music playlist
(note: setting up music volume to 0/off just disable music volume ,but music is still streaming in the background).

That way you will disable music streaming (save Br from double streaming ) and maybe track will then load /play ok.

Alternative is to setup your own music (mp3-hd) .

Dunno if this will help you guys , but it is worth a try ,before you go and buy new PS3/GT6.

I use custom music, but only in the menus. No music plays when I race.

Also mics are disabled.

The jittering sound is not just music, even menu sound effects, like when you send a text.

The last couple of times I have tried to run the track it would load ok, the sound would become jittery after a minute or two and then my PS3 would freeze.

I never had a problem before the 1.06 update. I used to run the track nearly every night.

I had the same problem but from a long way back, 1.02 or 1.03. Even happened when I was running alone a couple of times, tuning online.

Yes, it's an inconsistent error. My Bathurst never played up until the 1.06.

In saying this, I've had a good time racing all the other tracks in the game instead of just the main 1 i like.

Hopefully there's a fix in place (fingers crossed) with the online maintenance coming... A man can hope

Last night, before I left my room I thought I would go to Bathurst, leave my room to a friend and then rejoin to see what would happen.

I rejoined and did two, two lap races. I had no problems at all. No jittery sound or anything.

Tonight I tried to host the track myself. In the six minute wait until the race started, the sound was just fine. The race went off without a hitch, and I was beginning to think that some ninja update had fixed the track.

No such luck. After the first race the sound started screwing up again so I left.

Maybe tonight's update...
