This car looks so sweet, it took me ages to win it in the color that i wanted, yellow and black. I was dissapointed to find out that it had around 10 hp less than the S2000 V-Spec tho.

What does Mugen mean? Dose it enhance the engine like VTEC or something? Or is it just an apperance thing?
 
Mugen is the tuning arm of Honda, like Sti is for Subaru and AMG for Mercedes.
 
and there's TRD for toyota, Nismo for nissan, and MazdaSpeed for mazda....i think....
 
And DRS for Daihatsu, Ford racing for, well, Ford, XPower for MG and the list goes on.
 
Ok i see. Well if this is the case then i am more dissapointed that the Mugen S2000 has around 10 Hp less than the S2000 V-Spec.

I have a white S2000 V Spec that i use for drifting and i was planning to use this yellow and black mugen for racing but seeing it has less hp there is no point. I will use the Mugen for drifting instead and have the V-Spec as a racing car.

How many color combinations are there for the Mugen? I wanted the black and white one, but then i seen the yellow and black one and it looks even more tasty.

GT3gEdit says there's seven - all with black carbonfibre bonnets (hoods):

New Formula Red
Midnight Pearl
Monte Carlo Blue Pearl
Grand Prix White
Indy Yellow Pearl
Silver Stone Metallic
Berlina Black.
 
Have you changed the oil in the Mugen S2000? It should have 10 bhp more I think.
Fully tuned it has quite a bit less Bhp than the S2000 you can buy, but it is a much better drivers car imo.
 
Yeah i did change the oil when i first got it.

Im failry sure it has 8hp less than the V-Spec. The Mugen sounds different too. It also has less torque i think :(
 
Thanks Famine, i have only seen white and black, yellow and black and all black. I think the yellow one looks the best. The white one looks really nice to tho.
 
It's actually both. Over here we don't see SVT's, we do see Ford racing, I've seen Ford racing Puma's, well I've seen one, and theres a couple of other cars that are tuned by Ford racing on our roads.
 
Mugen is an aftermarket tuning company that works on Honda's 9and subsequently Acura's) however they aren't an OEM supplier like SVT, Ralliart, STi, etc. Its jsut that Mugen is owned by the son of Honda's founder or something. Type R is the name for tuned Honda's.

E.G. you can see an SVT Focus, Ralliart Lancer, Subaru Impreza WRX STi, etc. but you're not going to see a Mugen S2K at a Honda dealer.

AP1 - I think North America gets SVT whereas the rest of the world gets Ford Racing. SVT sounds better:p

It would be nice to see a Mugen S2000 at a Honda dealership selling at $65,000.

SVT is Ford's tuning divison.
 
In Australia its Tickford for ford.
 
Personally, I like the Spoon Sports S2000 (not the race car) more than the Mugen one. It just feels...smoother.

I think you got the wrong thread there. But this goes well in the "worst car" thread :p

Anyway....I think the Mugen looks really good in black to match the CF hood. But....what are the bumpy things on the hood? Does it need more room for Mugen bolt-ons or something :confused:
 
But it does not make sense, as a Mugen S2000 is a tuned standard S2000. And the V-Spec S2000 is a standard S2000, just the updated model right ? So why would the Mugen give less HP than the V-Spec ? That's a bit darft I think ...

I also worked my arse off getting the mugen one, and was also disappointed to see that it was down on HP ...
 
Super-Supra - For us it is, but not for the whole world, just like how you won't see any Lexus dealers in Japan.

Purple Platypus - Bumps? Its either vents of hood pins. Don't really understand "bumps". I'll post pics of the actual Mugen later today.

IMO I like the Spoon (race and non-race car) more however in real the Mugen S2000 schools the Spoon.

Well.....I'm at school right now, so I cant check. But as I recall, there's a big vent on one side of the hood, then there's a big square bump on the other side of the hood. Or, I could just be going blind.
 
It has 2 rows of vents on the hood.

Hmm, I think the one live4speed posted looks much better than the one in GT3.
 
No, there IS a bump there. Its on the very front end of the bumper, on the right. It's there above the hole in the bumper and below the right side vent (from the driver's point of view).

Now....new question: what's with the extra light by the hole in the bumper :confused:
 
I don't like the Front Bumper. Looks sorta retarded.

They both use Mugen parts though:)
 
There are no bumps on the hood, those are all vents. Just look carefully.
