Multiplayer Question

I haven't done a lot of multi player racing in GT 5 so apologies if the answer to this question is overly obvious:

Can you carry over the upgrades you applied to your cars in single player mode to multi player races and if so, how?

Put it into your favourites list.
Then if the room you're playing allows to use more than one car, you'll be able to use it.
 
What I've done is purchase a selection of cars, modded them and put them as favourites. The power of each car goes up by 50bhp, so I have a modded 50bhp car, a modded 100bhp car, a modded 150 bhp car etc all the way up to 1000 bhp ... It covers all options when online. And they are all roughly the same colour as well.

What do you mean by "carrying upgrades"? If you mean the car too, just add it as a favorite. If you mean just the upgrade, I'm not sure. If you're going to install the upgrades to a stock compatible vehicle it is meant for, I can't help you any further.

Well maybe it's just me but in past online races it's seemed that cars I was racing in multiplayer and had chosen from my favorites list seemed like the stock versions of the cars I had purchased, upgraded and saved as my favorites. They didn't seem to handle as well, as if they didn't have the wings I added, the upgraded suspension or tires...things like that. Do cars you're allowed to race online from your favorites list always utilize the upgrades/mods you purchased for them in single player?
