Now i know that tuning a muscle car is a lot different then tuning another FR... can someone give me some tips that can help?

dREAM00Step 1.
Always check we're the cars weight is.
If the weights on the front e.g 60-40, 55-45 you need that weight to tranfer to the back wheels on launch, to do this you need the following
Ride ride mix/max<< try max-max with some
Springs
Min/max
Step 2.
With most old muscle they have a low power band e.g 5400
So you'll need a high top speed to reach peak torque. Start at 160 and work your way up to 210 in some cars but just keep reflipping till you hit the sweet spot.
Step 3.
You can either launch in 1st an quick shift into 2nd, works well but don't have to big of a gap between 1-2nd or you will bog.
2nd gear launch is more consistent an will do well on Indy but again if someone has a good 1-2nd qs tranny they can win most of the time.
