Welcome, ladies and gents, to the first round in the novel racing series that is Muscle: Unlimited!!! Many a driver has waited countless weeks to hone in their driving skills on these beasts that defined an era.

Any questions or comments, ask them in the Discussion Thread.

Pictures are welcome! Show the beauties!!!👍👍👍👍

 Great save Max!!

Thats cool how you turned your pics in to a video! 👍

Like to welcome new fellow Driver Ebiggs to the mix in the potent AC 427. BTW, bhawk, when you get this, could you PM me your splits? I have a question regarding the 'Bird. 👍

Edit: Also, here's a pic of the car in action. 👍

I don't really mean to double post, but I have some splits and this keeps the thread right up top to keep drivers going. :)

T1: 34.095
T2: 55.963
T3: 1'25.736

Lots of tuning to be done as I don't think I've found the sweet spot with the vette just yet. Right now she's being a squirrely son of a gun that's hard to keep control of. :)

T1: 35.142
T2: 57.543
T3: 1'29.009

Arrived in sunny Costa De Amalfi this morning, unloaded the R/T and ventured out for a my first session of the week, didnt do much in the way of setup, just tried to find a good line and stay off those walls.

First Clean Splits
T1 - 35.173
T2 - 57.502
T3 - 1.29.102

those last hairpins are tight  , wonders how much time I'm losin thru there?. And by the looks of Jets time I have plenty to find everywhere.

👍

I think its safe to say that oversteer is going to be better than understeer here. :p

I found my Charger had trouble in the corners at the top of the mountain. I don't think I lost much time at the hairpins, but I agree that oversteer is far better than understeer. Uphill, all the weight is towards the back of the car so understeer is inevitable if you don't brake hard and shift that weight forward. At the same time you have to keep all four wheels solidly planted.

This track is tough! I'll have splits posted later. ;)

Incredibly close between Steve and Max, that I love.. It means I've done something correct! :p

I'm afraid though, that I may have to take the Bird's tires up a grade to either R3's or possibly even 2's. (Doubtful of R2's; it lacks downforce to keep it in the game on larger tracks.) But to be three seconds ahead in T3 is a bit much...

Yeah, I wouldn't be too hasty just yet Jet. If I can lay down a good lap, I have about .6 seconds to gain with my current setup. Hopefully I can pick up a second with some really good tuning.

T1 - 35.877
T2 - 58.526
T3 - 1'30.082

Only the second lap out and I still haven't touch the car's suspension... Maybe a little tighter and add some weight.... nothing like going vertical in a convertable :dopey:

If my car had a neck, I'd be kickin it right now...lol
splits to follow me actually making a complete lap without me drop kicking my dfp..

Jet dont worry about being ahead of me mate, I'm not the fastest On line Racer by a loooooooooooong shot, ( and I do mean long ) so dont go changing to much on account of my times 👍

We'll see... As it sits, however, I'm still 2.3 ahead... I'll render my decision at the end of this week.

I...need...help. My t3 is a low 1'31 which just plain out sucks. The worst part is that this time is a five second improvement over my initial time. I've tuned my car and it handles immensely better (and it handled well to begin with!), I've tuned the gears, too. It seems that simply can't improve my time enough with whatever semblance of a line I have.

Any suggestions so that I may be competitive???

Well, the big question is how does it handle the switchbacks?

I know that I have my car setup so that when you brake into the corner it acts neutral, with no brakes it generally pushes, and the second you punch the throttle it oversteers slightly. Most of this has to do with spring rates, sway bars, and tire alignment. For instance, I have my front springs about 1 full unit lower than the rear, the sway bars are set a 1/5, and the toe is around 0/3(toe out).

The rear lsd is also set fairly loose at around 8/15/10 if I remember correctly.

Unfortunantly it does make the car rather twitchy, but it's the only setup I've come across so far that has really worked for me. With this I can brake into a corner to about the 1/3 point and darn near instantly slam on the power at wot to get the car to turn about and line up with the straight. It's weird, I know, but unless I punch the throttle I just can't get my little C2 to come about. Otherwise it just plows through the corner and I can't get much speed out the exit.

I'll mess about tonight with my Charger and see what I can atain with what settings I use. ;)

Here's my spilts.

T1= 0'36.433
T2= 0'59.699
T3= 1'32.588

Not changed much really, just basic settings reasy for tweaking.
The laps also wasn't as clean as I'd hoped. But I will improve anyway so it doesn't really matter at this stage
:sly:
Cheers SS

And attain I did...:D

Here you go, Red, but watch it! It is incredibly prone to understeer if you enter a corner too hot, very much magnified by the stiff suspention.

1970 Dodge Charger R/T Settings
Spring rate: 9.2/ 7.8
Ride height: 96/ 96
Bound/Rebound: 8/ 8
Camber Angle: 2.1/ 1.5
Toe Angle: 0/ 0
Stabilizers: 3/ 4

Traction Control: 5
ASM's: 0

LSD: 1.5-way

Ballast: 0kg, +50

Testing of this Charger setup yielded for me:

T1: 34.109
T2: 55.641
T3: 1'25.684

I appreciate that a lot Jet.

Strange thing is, only my ride height and shocks were drastically different. My spring rate was initially very similar. I changed it a couple days ago and it improved, setting the the rear to be much stiffer. The front remained exactly as you have it here.

I'm gonna try to go for a spin tonight with your settings. Perhaps I can improve on the settings and MAYBE I can beat your time. I'm crossing all the fingers I have to make it under a t3 of 1'28....

Hey, no prob. :)👍 The last thing I want to see in this is a lagging player..

Good luck later tonight. :)

Hey, how's everybody been? Alright, here's my "not-yet-final" times, as recorded while on the phone with Jetboys427 :-)

T1: 34.897
T2: 57.251
T3: 1'27.784

Jetboy just cant be beat (by me) hehe lol

Current (possible final) split times in the AC:

34.802
57.109
1'27.953

I was surprised when there weren't any power upgrades, but now I see why. This thing is a rocket. Hopefully my times will be closer further into the season. I haven't played GT4 very much lately so I am pretty rusty. I'm also not very familiar with the racing line at Costa. Add that I'm not used to racing tires and you have my excuse. :D

Edit: Sweet! I'm not last! ^^

The gauntlet has been tossed. :trouble:

T1: 33.858
T2: 55.171
T3: 1'24.924

Edit: Yes, you're correct, you are not last, Ebiggs. As it stands, smuttneyspears is our collective lagger...

Hey, Im gunna put in the T1-3 because my computer wolnt load the edit screen.

T1: 34.784
T2: 56.891
T3: 1'27'724

:D HAPPY RACINGS :D

Jet, what timezone are you going by for the deadline?

sadly, i'm not going to be able to put up a time this week... I have way too much school work to do. :/
hopefullly i'll see you all next race.

Final Splits:

34.220
56.408
1'27.030

Edited: T1 is 34.220, not 32.220. Sorry for any confusion. Still pretty crazy, eh Darkwind?
