Is it just me, or is the Mustang a great car to buy? Less than 40k credits, and can be tuned to over 700 hp! Personally I bought it just to compete in the American races, but it is a serious giant killer, and walks over the competition in every race i've put it in, even against some race cars. Plus, IMHO its a pretty good looking car as well, even if it is a Ford. ;)

Anyone share my view, or was I just stupid buying the thing in the first place? Any other cars out there that are great like this that can be tuned really well?

Alan

I like the Mustang as well, it's a great car to do rally races!

The Mustang really does slide.....it's lice your on the smoothest ice ever.

I used the Mustang to win many races too. I absolutely hate ford though, so I had to realize that it didn't matter what it was, as long as it won races!

wot up! i got many fast race cars that are great to handle and win you any race you put them in. But the mustang is the only "normal" car i go and get in and do races over and over again. I also like Ford cars n i would have liked to see more of them in the game but hey, s h i t happens. Overall the mustang is a great car and it does look nice IMO!

I can't say the Mustang wouldn't be good for a starter car, but I don't have one in my garage....

I am not a huge fan of Ford either, but the GT40 is so great!!!! But y'all know that about me by now :fdevil:

Ya, the Cobra is/was a fantastic car. I think that was the 2nd car for me. That was what turned the game around for me.

It had gotten a little slow at the beginning - Cruisin' around in my Miata, which worked fine, but I couldn't run with the big dogs with that car so I needed something new.

Yes man the very fisrt time i used that car i was hooked on it and got about 25 - 30% of the game completed just by using that car. Its a great car and i wish i were to use it now. My 2nd time going through the game i wanted to take a different approach and ended up using the Doge Concept but dont get me wrong its not that bad of a car juse the stearing sucks very bad. :)

I love the car. It was my first real car. Its allaround the best car if you look in that price range. When i first was racing i bought my SVT after doing 30 races of the sunday supper speedway.

It was worth it.

Can it rally? I tried it doing Special Stage wet II and I was tossed. The turning and acceleration sucked (for me)
its a great car, but leave it out of the rallies

I went with the Corvette ZO6. It has way better speed than the Cobra R and way better handling. I drove the SVT before and for it's power and cost it doesn't perform very well. Even my Camaro SS is faster than it.

i used the svt cobra early on in the game, after my miata. i think its a pretty slick car. after i got deeper into amature, i switched to the corvette Z06 and Viper.

oh ya, almost forgot. using the svt cobra in seattle circuit is boss.

It may be fun, but does it actually help you WIN?!? NO! :shakehead

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but the mitsubishi 3000gt can be tuned over 1000 hp. i don't know the price or handling on it though...is it any good?

trust me, at whatever price its no good. It has a high top speed but accelerates like crap on a hot day. It isn't worth it. :yuck:

It's okay for a porker. It is quite heavy, which makes it stable at high speed (above 210). It is not a sprinter. If you need a Mitsu for kicks and giggles, drop about 25,000 on a Lancer EVO 7. You will be pleasantly suprised. :D

Me...I wouldn't bother to buy it. I would save my money for something, ANYTHING, better than that car.

Being a stang fan it was the second car I bought (after my starter pos) and I was suprised on how well it did. I used it the most until I got the corvette C5R

Axis man and Ebo#1 - you two play nice or I'll hafta seperate the two of you...

I myself really liked the car. Granted, it doesn't have the power of a viper (for example), but then again, it is what.... less than half the price? (I'm just going by memory here).

The next most comparable car would be the Camaro SS, and (again, if memory serves correctly), the SVT can not only be tuned to be faster, but the handling does seem to be better than the SS.

<shrug> To each his own... I myself can't stand Skylines and I know I'm in the minority (if not the only one). Actually, that's not true. I love the Calsonic Skyline for some reason...

I'm sorry, but Vipers are one of the most versitile cars you can buy. It's cheap but I powered mine to 706 hp. Hell, I even used it in rally challenges(Super Special Stage route 5 wet [II])

This was my second car in the game. I love it and still have it even though im 60% done. It's got like 2300 miles on it. I love this car!

w-hoo vipers rule.... sensing the sarcasm anyone ? i could beat ur viper round anywhere with a mustang...

Vipers aren't bad but far from the best car in the game
