Hey people... I'd like to express my gratitude to the best car in my garage, my black and silver 1996 Dodge Viper GTS. It has 1,110 bhp @ 6800 rpm, which is 800 rpm more than the redline. The V10 engine gives a veritable roar as you punch the gas, and with an extremely wide powerband, acceleration is off the charts at any rpm. The engine is extremely responsive, and from a stand still without previously revving the engine to the power band, it'll peel out in third gear. This snake will slither itself rather quickly to a top speed of 271.7 mph, which is second only to the mighty Escudo on my top speed chart, where the 1873 hp Suzuki gets a top speed of 301.4 mph.
The Viper handles corners like a 5 year old going down a twisty-slide at the town park. But be warned; a little too much accelerator on the bend will end up in a 180. however, oversteer is possible, but you really have to be good at steering the car with your right foot. Personally, i am quite adept to oversteering. But mitakes are extremely costly, as i discovered quickly.
I've put every imaginable upgrade into this car, and i spent days and days adjusting the settings on the suspension and gear ratios to get the lowest center of gravity possible, and the transmission on my car is completely custom. I have medium-slick racing tires on the Yokohama 5-spoke wheels, and with the lowered suspension, washed-after-every-use exterior, and the black and silver double stripe paint job, it's got show AND go.

I wish to express my best wishes in this hour, despite the pain that is having a Viper GTS as your best car. May you soon discover the joys of other cars, that don't go into power oversteer should you dare use the accelerator. ;)

Seriously, Can I ask why you prefer the GTS to the Oreca Viper or the concept?

Who hasn't? It's not like yours is special. Everyone's got one.

And it was a truly wise man who said, "Power Is Nothing Without Control"

viper1110hp Welcome to GTplanet. PLease exercise liberal use of the search button. It is your friend.

That being said, I hope you've had the chance to experience the other 185 cars available in this game. They are quite varied and excel in many different areas. Many in fact will out shine the Viper. Please don't take that as a slight towards the Viper as it is a very formidable car with that much HP. Then again, a Mazda RX-7 in full trip will hand the Viper its share of losses. I suggest you experience the Lotus 350 or the Ruf RGT in full power.

Good luck, enjoy your stay, and read with your eyes open.

No he doesn't, lest we forget this geat individual 750hpsupra. Or how about 1,000hpandup, or even 1000hp. Yet we could come up 1000hp skyline or even 1051hpskyline. We've even get a 774hp GTRskyline.

Where's that quote about teenage boys and cars?

A fully kitted out Lotus is a monster of a car....
on a straight... but you might aswell have your panel beater on speed-dial cornering isnt the high point of this car

Hmmm...

Very interesting this post is. I see two elements at work, both of which have little to do with a viper. (odd :odd: )

Basically I see a writer and a newbie.

Both can be dealt with and molded appropriately. ;)

No for real, the essay above is not bad. There are few grammatical errors and a good number of punctuation errors, but other than that, it is obvious we have some one who is willing to put effort into posting.

Nice simile.

Very good use of context.

However, absolutely no capitalization was used during mid-paragraph sentencing...
&
The whole dodge viper thing. :D

Yeah the viper is nice... but definately take der alta's advice. Buy the RGT.

I will have an eye on your post viper.
Nice to meet you.
Work on vb and get into the weekly racing series, you can be a good member. (just don't be an ass.) :trouble:

Catch you later. :D

Yes. The Viper hangs tough in the corners when properly set up and driven.

And welcome aboard, 1110hp. Enjoy your stay with us!

I don't actually recall him saying that he didn't have any other highly modified cars so why suggest others? He could have tried them already and still liked the Viper more.

Or he could just like Vipers anyway. (which is why, i suppose, you suggested other cars)

My favourite car in the whole game is a dead-even tie between my 311 hp red Honda Integra Type R, 595 hp red Nissan 300ZX TwinTurbo 2seater and 585 hp black Nissan Skyline GT-R S-Tune (R32).

Exactly, and I know I for one like the Viper GTS over the RGT.

I would also like to say I like the GTS over the Team Oreca and Concept as I believe I've said before I do not like race cars. Concept not being a true race car is fine but I like to think that one day I might be able to own some of the cars I drive in the game, which unless I'm mistaken rules out the Concept.

Don't listen to these critical people who question your love for a car. When I first got into Gran Turismo (Gran Turismo 2 actually) the Viper was my main beast for the purposes of opposing my friend's Lotus Esprit. At the time I didn't have the skill to drive it well though I thought I did. Then I decided I didn't want to drive it anymore because of it's 'limitations' (which I later found to be tuning errors) and because it was Dodge, a make I'm not fond of.

After I stopped driving the Viper I decided to take on the Esprit in hopes of learning to drive better. As it should turn out it worked, and I improved in skill greatly with this car when driving AND tuning is concerned. I knew that I wouldn't stay an Esprit driver though, because that car 'was already taken.' So I began my search for the perfect sports car for me--something that I could fuse with behind the wheel. At the time I didn't actually know much of anything about cars and this made the search difficult. I ran across a few decent vehicles including 3000GT VR-4, Supra, Zonda C12S, etc... Then I found the Skyline.

The GT-R changed the kind of driver I was, and I was able to bond with it and felt I had a good idea of how to tune an AWD 'muscle' car. Even my first cracks at tuning it were pretty good. After about 6 months, it ended up being such a beast, but I found too many limitations in the design. Of course you all know there is no perfect design, but I mean that I found that I could not continue driving the GT-R because it was unable to express my driving. I found out that AWD was the reason for this.

Now, here I am... I still haven't found what I like anymore but I've retuned the Viper substancially, and though they don't make it over 1000 hp (which used to be a requirement for me) I use the Cobra R and GT40 a lot for fun nowadays. Also, my FD is pretty crazy... Eventually I will end up going back to the Viper I can tell. It's the only good 1000+ hp rear wheel drive, front mount engine in the game. I still think Dodge sucks, I don't like V10s anymore (anything over 8 cylinders sucks IMO), but the Viper is the closest thing to the car that can manifest my mind on the road.

I just thought I'd tell you all of this because I know that, as an apparent newbie (no offense in that, it's a good thing!) I can only guess that you will go through similar phases as I. So perhaps it's legitimate to consider this a warning or prophetic response. Just remember you can always fall back on your first love, Viper GTS, when the going gets tough for you. ;) If you ever need help with something feel free to PM me.
