Here's some pics for you to see my second project car. This one actually will undergo another epic transition like my Camaro has (and will continue to). I've decided to concentrate on making this my track car / AutoX'er. And what's a bonus is this car only has 61k miles on the chassis and less on the drivetrain. :D

These cars can be made VERY fast. And when you consider that the later models had the Mitsubishi 3.0L V6 (6G72) from the 3000GT/GTO in it the mounts are there so there's no need to fab up something custom. Imagine putting that V6 with the turbos from the 3000GT/GTO twin turbo how fast this car would be? It weighs literally 1,000lbs less than the 3000GT/GTO twin turbo!!! That coupled with a good suspension might make it a real monster. Or I could just rebuld the current drivetrain and strip the car bare for a cheap thrill.

The pics...

And yes the shift knob and pink fluffy thing will be the first to go. It needs the following before it can be driven:

  • Battery
  • Fuses
  • Tires
  • Clutch/Transmission

Probably not any faster than it is now, because doing so would make the fronts burn out from 1st through 4th. Putting the DOHC NA V6 would be a good project, though, rather than the paper-weight SOHC engine.

The turbos are probably a little much. I'll see how the car acts with the strip down and stock drivetrain. If I feel it isn't beefy enough I'll do the regular 6G72 DOHC swap with no turbos.
