Speed Channel has already increased it's viewership by 124% due to the addition of NASCAR.

I can't believe, honestly, that Speed Channel can't have TWO stations, one like "Speed Channel NASCAR" and one "Speed Channel decent racing".

Sorry, got away from myself there.

But still, I'm sure they could do it. The two channels could operate on a single business model, and I'm sure there would be the advertising.

That said, I think Talentless is being a little harsh complaining that he's "only" getting 14 of the 24hrs of Le Mans.

...one was from Jim Liberatore, the president of Speed Channel. Liberatore explained that the other series aren't gone after all. In fact, there's more coverage. This racing season Speed Channel will cover CART, 13 live races plus all practice and qualifing sessions; the WRC, all 16 events with almost five times more coverage than before; every Formula One practice and qualifiying sessions plus 13 F1 races, and several live-coverage broadcasts of Grand Am, American Le Mans and World Challenge events. The SCCA ProRally series will be covered in its entirety. Liberatore admits that the whole story wasn't told when Speed Channel was announced. He continues to say that some programs on the channel will be eliminated such as aviation and marine coverage as well as "The Lost Drive-in" to make all this programming possible. This time everyone should be happy. Speed Channel gets its NASCAR dollars and trhe rest of us don't lose our racing coverage. We might have to search a little harder to find it, but it'll be there. Leberatore promisis you that.

I hope this might shed some light on the situation, as far as complete coverage of Le Mans, I dont know, just be happy that there is coverage period.

First off, if they got rid of all of the paid ads, for like MotorMillions or that damn tornado intake air junk, then they would have at least 5 extra hrs a day of programing time. Then get rid of the old Nascrap races, and all of the talking programs(no matter what kind of racing, I don't need to hear about a driver who is getting a divorce or anything like that, I don't care about their problems, they have it better than all of us). OK, so now you are left with some Live or pretaped Nascar races, live or taped Cart races, live or taped WRC races, lived or taped any other races, Motor Week, Motor trend, Bike week, American Muscle car, Dream car garage(is this show even on anymore?), My clasic car(shouldn't even be on Speed, TNN has that show), and assorted other car or bike programs. And then you can get rid of NASCAR TV.

There, Leberatore, that solve everything.

BTW, what is this Speed guy's E-mail address?

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY HATE NASCAR!!!!!!!!!! I DO NOT WANT ANY MORE NASCAR. MOST PEOPLE SAY THAT NASCAR HAS COURSES THAT AREN'T LEFT TURNS ALL THE TIME. WHAT? ABOUT 4?!!! I BOYCOTT NASCAR AND ALL OTHER LEFT TURN ONLY RACING.

if your coverage is bad, i feel for you. my understanding is that channel 4 in britain shows tape delayed hour long episodes of the bgt, i guess on the weekends, saturday i think. oh, and what you think is good may not be. many of our races are american focused, as you would expect, so unless somethjing like world superbike gets no coverage in belgium, yer mostly missing trans am races and cart, and maybe not since i doubt speed channel has that much power over international broadcasts. footage of cart may come from speed sometimes. last time i saw some f1 on speed, the satelite sp? glitched and a screen came up saying itv, yep, the british channel.

I watched that race to.... IT was amusing, at the start they said: "Ok, this is not exactly legal, but we are pireting a british feed, have fun"

Letter writing does crap. I seet a very politically correct one back 5 months ago, and they still hvn't responded....

"It got lost" excuse

Sweet! Too bad that means that I can't be pissed in my e-mail to this Josh guy...ohh well.

Going to write it right now.

I wrote it...even mentioned GTP in it, once I get this Liberguy's E-mail address, I will post it here so all of us can fill his E-mail with the same Anti-Nascar coverage stuff.

I am going to explain this for I hope the last time.

1. I am not responsible for what channels are available in your area.

2. Why is the comparison I make not noted? Who do you think is larger in terms of financial backing? Speedvision prior to Fox taking them over and early into the take over, or Speedvisions latest incarnation, Speed Channel?

3. The impression was that we should not be concerned.

4. With their CART deal it is possible we may have shortened 24 Hours of Le Mans coverage for years.

5. This (Le Mans) is one of the top events in the world.

6. Yes, if I got good coverage with a smaller channel I expect similar coverage with a larger one.

7. This is a niche channel, it is not unusual to have high expectations of such channels.

8. Finally, just because you have worse coverage that is not reason enough for me not to complain.

nascar makes me vomit...where is that vomiting smily...

meh, these are close enough. :yuck: :ill:

i had speedvision for a few weeks, then it switched to speedchannel. there is nascar on fox, espn, espn classic, espn 2, fox sports, FX, and so on...

speedvision was the only channel i had that didnt shove nascar down my throat. at least i still get trans am, american lemans, and wrc...i just have to look harder for them. the trans am series was on at 2am yesterday.

by the way, there is a programming feedback form u can fill out on teh speedchannel website (ironically its www.speedvision.com)
