Sooner, somewhere around 6000 RPM I believe

I know, the later part meant I'm going to try it out later because I didn't have the time to try it then.

Anything past 6000 and the 'Cuda falls on its face. I shift my fully built drag car at 5500. Stock I'm not sure about, but you may need to shift even lower. The Chevelle is still a little bit better overall. The LS6 is just plain hard to beat.

Hopefully you'll enjoy the 440 a little more when you find the sweet spot.

I just ran a stock zero mile car and found best results around 4500 -5000rpm.
My best run 0-400m was 13.565 (shifting at 4500rpm).
13.693 @5000rpm
13.787 @5500rpm
14.538 @6000rpm

Thanks. I feel stupid for not trying different shifting points. How much hp does your car have? Mine had already done 65000 kilometers when I bought it.

Another big thank you to bigbear. You doubled the fun of the car. I've rerun some tests and added a little revision at the end of the review and in the leaderboards.

Awsome, glad I could help. I figured out the 'Cuda playing GT4 and felt a bit daft myself back then.

My car shows:
383hp @4500
480ftlbs @2500

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

eigernordwandkort.jpg

This car was requested by Matteo05 and I really wanted to do the review. The car is hated by many who have troubles with the Grand Tour time trial. The first time I tried the challenge I had troubles with it aswell but when I returned later with some more experience in the game I only needed a couple of laps to complete it.

Some searching on the internet revealed that this was not the first Alfa Romeo to carry the 8C name. There are a lot of them actually. You should really take a look at the 1938 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta. That’s a great looking car that won the 2008 best of show at Pebble Beach. The 8 stands for the 8 cilinders the engine has. The one I’m reviewing has a 4.7l V8. It has won an award for best sound so I’m looking forward to that. Time to take it to the track and see if people should take another try at it after the time trial.

SPECS

Max Power: 458 hp at 7000 rpm
Max Torque: 489 Nm at 5000 rpm
Weight: 1585 kg
Performance Points: 503
Sport Hard tyres

LOOKS

I think this car is beautiful. Maserati was involved with building the car and that can only be a good thing. From the side it kind of reminds me of an Aston Martin. The front is typical Alfa Romeo. The rear looks minimalistic and that works great on the car. The wheels match the looks. There’s a little four –leaf clover symbol on the car. It’s a badge that means it should be a sporty drive. I don’t really like it. If I were to buy this car in real life I wouldn’t want it on the car.

rev3b.jpg

SOUND

The sound is very good on this car. You can understand why it won a prize.

TESTS

Test 1: Route X Speed Tests

The car reaches a top speed of 303,7 km/h. On the long straight I have time to look to the back interior and that looks great while exiting the tunnel when the bright lights come.

The car has wheelspin taking off which could be a reason that it was slower than the 0-100km/h time of 4,2 seconds I found on the internet. It still accelerates fast. After the big miss with the review of the Cuda I ran a couple of tests shifting at different points. This car should be shifted at the redline like the automatic gears do. Here are the results

  • Top Speed: 303,7 km/h
  • 0-400m: 12,822 s.
  • 0-1000m: 22,835 s.
  • 0-100km/h: 4,814 s.
  • 0-200km/h: 14,707 s.
  • Max G-force: 0,71 g

Test 2: Nurburgring Variable Weather/Time lap time

I load up the Nurburgring and it is dry. From what I remembered the car was hard to control and had a the back liked to slide away. In the first sector I didn’t really notice it. It does have some understeer in the fast corner but I don’t have problems keeping the back under control. Ofcourse you shouldn’t put full throttle on fast in a slow corner but that is not a good driving style with most supercars. I try to take Schwedenkreuz fast and there’s a bit of understeer forcing me to let go of the throttle for a moment.

I have a bad entry line for one of the fast corners in the section before Karussel and need to steer in hard. You feel the back sliding but some quick counter steering solves it right away. The section after Karussel shows the oversteer. It is easy to control and fun to drive. The understeer in some semi fast corners that need braking is not that fun. The second to last corner onto the straight I go a bit too far to the inside bumping off the kerbs and slide into the guardrails on the outside. The lap is still clean but I lose a lot of momentum for the straight. You need to brake hard at the end of the straight and the car feels a bit unstable. I fear for my clean lap but get through fine and did a lap of 7:55,675

rev2z.jpg

Test 3: Back to the Grand Tour

Well I had a big mouth saying I only needed a couple of laps golding the Eiger time trial. Let’s see how that goes. I quit right after I golded it and the record stands at 1:16,831. The car was great and easy to drive on the Nurburgring with its weaknesses being the oversteer in the exit of slow corners and instability while braking. So Eiger is a great choice with almost only slow corners and a lot of braking.

The first lap was filled with misshifts but I think I was fast enough to beat it. Well until I crashed in the last corner and got disqualified. In the second lap I take the corner before the tunnel too slow and screw up the last corner again by sliding. Still I get a finish but it’s too slow: 1:17,843. They added splittimes now which is a good thing. The third try also fails. The corner before the tunnel was too slow again. I tried taking it in 3rd gear which helped against the sliding but the acceleration in the exit was bad. Also oversteered in the last corner again which cost some time: 1:17,435.

The 4th try is close. 1:17,212. Again that last corner which is just annoying to take with this car. I screw up the 5th try after being 5 tenths up from my splittime. I crash in the corner after the tunnel taking it a bit too fast. You can control the sliding but doing that really slows you down. Try 6 ends after 1:17,300. The last corner broke me again after being 6 tenths up this time.
The four-leaf clover got a little help from my lucky number lap 7 and it’s over. I try less to not slide and more to control the slide. It seems to have worked. Again 5 tenths faster in the split time after the tunnel. Forgot to downshift at first in the following corner which cost some time. Then went wide in the last corner but I managed to just break the time with 1:16,966.

I actually thought I would need a lot less laps to beat it after a year but the car is still pretty hard to control on this track. The back just wants to get away and if you don’t want that to happen you need to slow down and watch your throttle a lot. I think the way to drive this car on this track is somewhere in between the two. Just let it slide a bit, try to control that and focus on the next corner. I can’t give you advice on how to take that last corner. It still beats me.

rev1x.jpg

Test 4: Top Gear Test Track Power Lap

Clean lap in one try. I rev up that engine to hear the engine one last time and take off with wheelspin. The first corner goes better than I expected. The exit of Chicago is filled with tyre smoke. The same goes for Hammerhead’s exit. A bit of braking and playing with the throttle in Bentley. Full speed past the tyres causing oversteer and sliding onto the straight. The last two corners go surprisingly well. The rear breaks away a bit in the exit of the corner and across the line in: 1:22,822

rev4.jpg

CONCLUSION

It took a while for me to get back to this car, but it was worth it. I forgot all about the great sound it makes. I feel like it doesn’t belong on a track like Eiger with that hairpin corners. It was great to drive on the Nurburgring. The oversteer made it a little hard to get through the corners fast, but at least it was fun.

On the TGTT it showed that it can also be great on a small track. The entry onto the straight kind of scared me but the mid corner oversteer in fast corners is easy to counter. You should use this car with manual gears. If you want it to drive more controlled take a corner in a higher gear. If you go for fun shift down and control that slide. I advice all the people who didn’t touch this car after the time trial to give it another shot on a different track and I think you will like it.

Mazda Mazdaspeed Atenza ‘05

specialstageroutexa.jpg

This Atenza is the first Japanese car with a normal engine I will be reviewing . It was a request by djinline. I know this car as the Mazda 6 and I think I’ve driven it once in real life but that’s a long time ago so I don’t know anything about it anymore. In the game I haven’t driven it at all. It’s a standard car but it only has 39,0 kilometer on the clock which saves me some credits not having to rebuild the engine.

I think it’s a concept car because there aren’t many details in the specs. From the description I find out it is a high performance model of the normal Atenza equipped with a 4WD system and a 2.3l Turbo engine. This makes it the first 4WD car I will be reviewing as well. It has a system controlling the torque and should have a good handling and traction. Time to find out.

SPECS

Max Power: 285 hp at 5500 rpm
Max Torque: 398 Nm at 3000 rpm
Weight: 1500 kg
Performance Points: 446
Comfort Soft tyres

LOOKS

It doesn’t look really bad but it looks normal. Not much special about it. I think they tried to be special with the heightened hood but it just seems misplaced on this car. I actually like the Mazda6 with the normal hood better. It does have nice wheel stock. When I got it it was in some strange purple color which I really didn’t like so I painted the car black.

SOUND

I don’t really like the sound on this car. It gets annoying after a while. Especially when it’s in high rpm.

TESTS

Test 1: Route X Speed Tests

The car reached a top speed of 263,9 km/h. It still had some speed in it but the 6th gear is too long. There was till over 500 rpm left until the redline.
The best results in the acceleration tests were when I shifted a little early at 6000rpm. But I didn’t need the 6th gear and my guess is that short shifting into that gear would be a disaster. The 4WD makes sure you get a good launch without wheelspin. Here are the results:

  • Top Speed: 263,9 km/h
  • 0-400m: 13,970 s.
  • 0-1000m: 25,458 s.
  • 0-100km/h: 5,767 s.
  • 0-200km/h: 22,641 s.
  • Max G-force: 0.96g

rev2.jpg

Test 2: Nurburgring Variable Weather/Time lap time

It’s going to be another dry lap. The first sector is filled with understeer. While braking, while accelerating and in the middle of corners. You need to let go of the throttle in Flugplatz, the fast corner after the first split, because it understeers in the middle of it. The brakes are not as good as I hoped and I end up in the gravel at Aremberg.

Now that the tyres are warm the understeer is a lot less frequent. It is still there though, showing in different corners. For example in the exit of Karussel where it sends me into the guardrails. But the lap is still not in the red and I go on. The corners after Karussel are easy to take but later on in the lap the understeer shows big time again. Most of all in the corner onto the straight where I need to let go of the throttle for a few second in order to not go off track. Still don’t need the 6th gear on the straight which makes that gear pretty useless in my eyes. I end the lap in: 8:33,233

rev3dp.jpg

Test 3: Mazda in Madrid

One of the tracks I hardly race on is Madrid. Somehow I don’t really like it. But with some hard braking points and corners that are hard for understeering cars it looks like a good test to find out the faults in the handling of the Atenza.

The first lap shows the understeer this car has. In the long corners like the roundabout you almost can’t use your throttle. The lap had a time of: 1:46,212. In the second lap the tyres are warm again and you can feel the difference. But it still has problems in the long corners and thes ones that follow eachother fast in different directions. Lap 2: 1:43,648.

In lap 3 and 4 more problems show. The hairpin at the start is annoying to steer in with the understeer but exiting it is very easy. The corners in the middle are really annoying to take. Lap 3 and 4 had times of: 1:44,896 and 1:44,445. When I try braking a bit later in lap 5 at the end of the downhill straight I end up understeering right into the wall and I had enough. Time for the final test.

rev1h.jpg

Test 4: Top Gear Test Track Power Lap

I start from a standing start on this test so that means cold tyres. And cold tyres are terrible on this car. Hope I can get a clean lap quick.

It actually was a pretty good drive on this track. It showed its best behavior and manage to score some points on the handling on this track. Quick start with the 4WD. A nice clean line on the inside and only a bit of work on the throttle needed to keep in in the lines. Not a lot of understeer exiting Chicago. In the exit of Hammerhead the understeer returns for a moment and it goes to the far outside of the track. Little braking in Bentley and it holds its line good. Full speed past the tyres and two nice last corners to finish in: 1:27,948

rev4.jpg

CONCLUSION

This car was a bit boring to drive. Most 4WD are not that fun to drive as RWD cars, but they make up for it with great handling and consistency. This car didn’t have great handling. It has a lot of understeer in all kinds of corners. It also needs to have warm tyres because with cold tyres it’s really bad If it wasn’t for the good lap on TGTT it would have gotten a lower rating. It doesn’t look special and it has a 6th gear that only seems to be there for fuel saving reasons. Maybe with some gear, suspension and LSD tuning it could be a better car but in stock form I didn’t like the car and rate it as following:

Looks: 5/10
Handling: 5/10
Fun: 3/10
Total: 4,3/10

Two new reviews up. These will be the last in a week. Have some exams and a project so I don't have a lot of free time the next week.

I’ll be skipping the info on the sound from now on. Most cars don’t have anything special to say about the sound and if there is anything I will mention it somewhere else. I will still use it in comparison reviews.

Thank you very much for reviewing the Alfa that i had requested... If I can, I want to make another request: Lamborghini Miura. It's my favorite car and I think you'll loe that car too because it's fun, fast and beautiful! :)

No problem. I loved the 8C. I think I will be using it more often. You almost never see one online.

I love the Miura. The cockpit view on that car is also great. I already planned to do a review on the Miura ,but I'm not doing any this week so it will be a while. The first review I'm going to do after I'm finished with the exams is the C63 vs M3 comparison.

Thank you very much for your review on the Atenza! It was very interesting to read. Personally, I like its design and tuning potential despite it's quite heavy. :)

If you didn't already know, 6th gear on the Atenza is just an overdrive gear to improve fuel efficiency so no wonder it's not useful on race tracks. ;)

Good luck on your exams and projects!

Mazda speed 6 is fun and surprising fully tuned, since a 0 miles can have over 570 hp and weigh less then 1200 kg. constantly shocked alot of people on Indy with mine. but in stock form no, granted a great sleeper though.

Epic Fail. That's the typical Alfa Romeo sporty logo, it's part of their history!!! It's like saying you buy a Ferrari and you remove the pricing horse logo on the side because you don't like it. That's a sacrilege if you are reviewing cars and you want to be taken seriously.

I knew what it was. I do some research when I review a car. I just didn't like it. It's such a nice red car all around and I think the logo doesn't fit the cars colors. Also I think it should be placed lower. Maybe if you bought the car in white it would look better, but I would want the car in red. It's just my personal opinion, no epic fail about it. If I were to spend so much money on a car I would want it to be the way I want it.

Edit: Here's a place I feel it's much less disruptive. I actually like it there.

That logo is the soul of Alfa Romeo, you may like it or not but you have to understand it represent history and tradition.
If you'll ever go in an "Alfisti" forum, think twice before saying something about it. :)

Yeah you're right. I knew what it meant but I think I didn't know it was so important. But you also have to understand that I was looking at it from a point of view purely based on the looks of the car. Something can be of great historical value and still not look good.

As you can see I gave it a 9.5/10 for looks and it didn't lose that 0.5 points because of the logo. For a 10 it has to be something really special to me. I was looking for something I didn't like about the car and that was the only small thing I could find. But after altering its place on the car in photoshop I found out that it weren't really the mismatching colors that put me off but more the placement of the logo.

BTW: I don't think the logo comes with the car stock. Most images found on google show the car without the logo. Even the official Alfa site from my country shows it without it.

BMW M3 Coupe ‘07

VS

Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG ‘08

specialstageroutex6.jpg

In this second comparison review two German cars will battle it out to decide which one is the best. The M3 will go in this challenge as my favorite. I always loved this car. Never had the chance to drive one in real life, but was lucky enough to sit in the passenger seat a couple of times. Funny enough the person that owned that M3 now owns a C 63 AMG. But he has the coupe version. It’s been a while since I’ve used the cars in the game. From what I remember from the C 63 it likes to slide. But that could be because I used it when I just started the game. The following test should give a more accurate insight of the cars handling. This is a comparison review so the tests will decide which one I think is the better car.

SPECS

BMW M3 Coupe

Max Power: 429 hp at 8500 rpm
Max Torque: 407 Nm at 4000 rpm
Weight: 1655 kg
Performance Points: 491
Sport Hard tyres

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

Max Power: 465 hp at 7000 rpm
Max Torque: 610 Nm at 5000 rpm
Weight: 1730 kg
Performance Points: 502
Sport Hard tyres

LOOKS

They are both great looking cars. The front of the C 63 looks more aggressive. From the side the M3 just looks better. Probably because it’s the coupe model. They both look great from the back. Four exhausts does wonders on most cars. I like the shark fin antenna of the BMW cars and the roof of the M3 looks good too. Especially since I’ve painted the car white. I’m giving the M3 the point for this test.

M3 1-0 C 63

SOUND

The C 63 is the clear winner when it comes to sound. The sound of the C 63 sounds louder and more aggressive. The M3’s sounds a bit whiny after a while.

M3 1-1 C 63

TESTS

Test 1: Route X Drag Race and Speed Tests

Another comparison review so another drag race. If you look at the specs you know there is only one that can win this race. The C 63 has over 30 hp more and 50% more torque. But there is only one way to find out for sure so we line up for a 1000m race and take off.

specialstageroutex.jpg

Just after 100 meter the M3 is slightly in the lead after the C 63 had more wheel spin taking off.

specialstageroutex1x.jpg

After 400 meters the C 63 pulled away and has a nice gap.

specialstageroutex2a.jpg

After 700 meters the gap has remained practically the same with the C 63 still strong in the lead.

specialstageroutex3.jpg

At the finish the C 63 made the gap a bit bigger finishing at 237 km/h and the M3 follows with 232 km/h.

specialstageroutex4v.jpg

The two German friends ride together for a while.

rev3.jpg

Until the C 63 gives the final blow and continues alone.

rev4z.jpg

And here are the results from the speed tests. As you can see the differences aren’t that big. The M3 wins in top speed. Mainly because of better balanced gears. The 6th gear of the C 63 comes too late and can’t be used to its full potential. I got the best results with the M3 shifting just after the red line. The C 63 bounces of the limiter quickly after the red line so watch out with shifting.

BMW M3 Coupe

  • Top Speed: 305,7 km/h
  • 0-400m: 13,357 s.
  • 0-1000m: 23,702 s.
  • 0-100km/h: 5,168 s.
  • 0-200km/h: 16,790 s.
  • Max G-force: 0,71 g

Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG

  • Top Speed: 301,0 km/h
  • 0-400m: 13,270 s.
  • 0-1000m: 23,335 s.
  • 0-100km/h: 5,064 s.
  • 0-200km/h: 15,608 s.
  • Max G-force: 0,64 g

M3 1-2 C 63

Test 2: Nurburgring Variable Weather/Time lap time

The cars have come home to the Nordschleife. First up is the M3. There is no rain or surface water. In the first sector I need to get used to the car but it is very forgiving. Flugplatz needed some braking and about halfway through you can go full throttle. Schwedenkreuz also needed a bit of braking but I went trhough it with 210 km/h which is really fast. The brakes are good enough to get through the next corner.

At the chicane after going uphill you can go accelerate out of the corners full throttle. It oversteers slightly. But a short countersteer solves it immediately. The next minutes are filled with great corners to take in this car. It’s really a pleasure to drive. It is so easy to take around the corners and you always have the feeling that you’re in complete control. The back slides a little bit in the corner before Karussel but no losing control in this car. I braked a bit too late for Karussel so I couldn’t stay on the banking. Still get a good exit and carry on.

The section after Karussel tests all cars handling. The M3 is very easy to drive through it. Even in the corners where you need to change your direction fast it just follows the line you want with minimal braking needed. It gets on to the straight with full power. I braked really late for the last corners and the car was still stable and finished the lap in: 7:55,714

rev1u.jpg

And now the C 63. Quickly you can feel the difference in the handling. I exit the first turn with some oversteer. It has some problems in the slow corners in sector 1. But it’s quite easy to control so it’s fun. Went on the throttle in Flugplatz quicker than in the M3 and even though you can hear the rear tyres slipping it takes the corner perfect. I have a bad line on the inside of Schwedenkreuz so I can’t take it at full speed. It still takes it with 190 km/h and combined with full throttle I exit it at the same speed as the M3. The outer tyres get red as I brake hard for the next corner.

In the high speed corners that follow the car is very stable and you can take them at full speed. The C 63 doesn’t show the oversteer the M3 had in the chicane. I think that was because I was cautious with the throttle. The long downhill right hander is very easy to take in this car. Where the M3 needed some work with the throttle the C 63 can take it with full power. Maybe that’s because a braked a bit earlier. It does show some oversteer while exiting the slow corners at the bottom.

The C 63’s back slides away the same as the M3 in the corner before Karussel. I do brake in time for Karussel this time and the exit is nice and clean. In the sector after Karussel it needs a lot more work on the throttle than with the M3. In one of the downhill corners the back begins to slide and it results in a nice controlled drift throughout the entire corner. I need to let go of the throttle a bit before entering the straight. I don’t have the courage to brake as late as in the M3 because I feel the car is not as stable. Some oversteer in the final corners and it finished the lap in: 7:55,685

rev2.jpg

Deciding who won this challenge was hard. First of all because of the lap times. Only 29 thousands of a second separated them after almost 21 kilometers. They also were both fun to drive in their own way. The M3 was easier to drive and could really be taken to its limits. The C 63 was fun because of the pure feeling of power and the occasional slides through some corners. So I let the handling be the deciding factor for this challenge. The M3 is the better handling car. It is easier to control and only slides when you take it too far.

M3 2-2 C 63

Test 3: Overpowered Taxis in Tokyo

Mercedes and BMW cars are used a lot as taxi cars in The Netherlands. Of course they don’t use these versions of the cars. But older and the less powerful versions of the 3 series and the C-class are used a lot. These cars could be used as some overpowered taxis. The M3 coupe model probably isn’t the most practical of the two but it seems fun to try.

Let me explain the concept of this challenge. The taxi driver gets a call while speeding over the starting line in Tokyo and needs to pick up a passenger at the stadium. The car needs to stop to 0 km/h at the first yellow guardrail in the long right corner and then get as fast as he can to the finish line. But at the second split time the passenger finds out he forgot his luggage so a handbrake U-turn is needed to get back to the stadium. After another complete stop the driver needs to turn around and this time race to the finish line. The fastest wins this challenge.

The C 63 is up first. I have some problems with oversteer in the exits of the first couple of corners. I get to the stadium and brake maybe a bit too early. I still stop at the first sign and take off again. I accelerate through the long right hander only letting go off the throttle for a second. This causes some oversteer again but it is controllable.

The second split time shows and I use the handbrake and normal brake to turn around. It takes a while to get going again because of the wheelspin. I almost never race on Tokyo Reverse so I’m cautious in the following corners. After stopping at the stadium again the car turns around pretty quick and races to the finish line and sets a time of 3:27,459

rev5.jpg

Next up the M3. The car is very fast through the first corners and comes to a complete stop at the sign. The long corner is easy to take with full throttle. It is a lot easier to make the u-turn in this car. The rear wheels also get grip back sooner so accelerating after the stops was faster. The long corner is no trouble again. The section after the second split is much easier in this car. The C 63 had some problems with oversteer there but this car is very stable throughout all of the last corners and fnishes after 3:22,553

rev6.jpg

The M3 won this challenge. It beat the C 63 with over 5 seconds. The M3 was just the easier car to drive on this track. It flew through the corners and it didn’t take too much time doing the u-turn.

M3 3-2 C 63

Test 5: Top Gear Test Track Power Lap

Time for the final test. The C 63 will have to win this one. It has some wheelspin taking off. Some oversteer in the first corner but easy to control so it doesn’t slide. Some more in the exit of Chicago which made me exit on the outside. Brake late for Hammerhead barely keeping the clean lap. It caused a bad line but it exits quite good. Very short brake before Bentley followed by full throttle which made me slide through it. Full speed past the tyres onto the straight. Nice line through the last corners and across the line in: 1:22,586

The M3 takes off with less wheelspin. Nice inside line through the first corner. Went on the throttle too quick causing some oversteer. Very controlled through Chicago. About the same line as the C 63 through Hammerhead, but it exits without oversteer. Also a little braking before Bentley but the M3 doesn’t slide. Full speed onto the straight. Braked too early for the second to last corner so lost some speed. No problems in the final corners so I accelerate full speed exiting the last causing me to slide across the line in: 1:22,597

Again very close lap times. The power of the C 63 is good enough to make up for the handling problems it had. It’s a tie and the car ratings will decide which one wins.

M3 3-3 C 63

CONCLUSION

This is a tough decision. Both cars were fast, fun to drive and had good handling. The C 63 is the faster one. Well the M3 beat it in top speed but everything before that and the C 63 will beat it. When we did the drag race we drove next to eachother like you see in the photos and then took off full throttle at the same speed. The C 63 got away a lot faster doing this aswell.

The M3 is the better car through the corners. It handles really well. It’s a great car for the Nurburgring since you can drive it as fast as you want without losing control of it. The C 63 is a bit more fun. The M3 feels like a great time trial car but the C 63 also has some moments where you need to do some work to keep it in the lines. All this factors made sure that these two cars were very matched to eachother. 29 Thousands of a second difference at the Nordschleife and 11 thousands of a second on the TGTT. The taxi test showed that the M3 is easier to control when doing strange things with it. I rated the cars as following and the M3 came out the winner.

BMW M3 Coupe ‘07

Looks: 8.5/10
Handling: 8.5/10
Fun: 8/10
Total: 8.3/10

Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG ‘08

Looks: 8/10
Handling: 7/10
Fun: 8.5/10
Total: 7.8/10

Final Score
BMW M3 Coupe ’07 4-3 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG ‘08

Love the reviews. Very interesting and detailed. Really get a sense of how the cars behaved when reading. Most magazine like read on the forum IMHO.

Thanks. I like to do it. I just write some things down while racing.

The next three reviews will be the requests still standing. The M3 CSL, Ford RS200 and the Evo X. Probably will be ready by the end of the week.

Great comparison! I personally like the M3 more, but the C63 is a lot more fun to drive.

Looking forward for more! :D

Lovin the reviews man, espically the overpowered taxis of Tokyo test, its more of an unique approach to a test to see who can use their advantages and sum it up in one challenge, just like TopGear. keep it up. ;)

I like both the C63 and the M3 E92 but they seem to be closely related in their specs, but one is in favor for handling and top speed and the other in accelaration with some crazy fun oversteer. But other than the differences of the cars, I love the 63 more.

Hey, if you don't have any more exams coming soon and you want to try something new, how about a test between two legendary cars from Japan and the USA, the Corvettes and Skyline GTR/GTRs.

For an example:

'70s beasts: C3 Corvette L48 vs. Skyline 2000GT-R KPGC10

'90s finest: C4 ZR-1 and Grand Sport vs. Skyline GTR R32/R33

Late '90s and early 2000s: C5 Corvette Z06 vs. Skyline GTR R34

Modern legends: C6 Corvette Z06/ZR1 vs. Skyline GTR/ Spec V R35

If you like the idea, PM me and we can see what we can do. :)

Similar to the review JC gave comparing the hotted up versions of this lot - the M3 GTS and C63 Black. He preferred the Black because it was crazier and less technical.
