Since PD hadn't brought us some new seasonal expert challenges for a long time, I have decided to take action and "create" my own expert event, you might also be interested in.

Here are the basic rules:
  • This challenge must be done in GT Mode!

  • Any kind of tuning (installing parts, changing settings, adding aero-parts) is strictly forbidden.

  • Changing the rims, oil change, restoring body rigidity and overhauling the engine are optional. Doing the oil change is recommended.

  • Except ABS, all other driving aids must be turned off!

  • The tyre restriction for this event is set to: Comfort Medium

  • The event is restricted to the following car: Toyota Yaris U Euro Sport Edition (J) ’00 (84 HP / 850kg / FF-Type)

After you have read the rules, head over to the A-Spec beginner events and enter the Yaris / Vitz Race, which will take place at Fuji Speedway. To make it more interesting I have applied some additional rules while racing.

Additional rules while racing:
  • You must gain the first position on the 1st lap.

  • As soon you gain the 1st position, do not let the opponent overtake you on the whole race. If the opponent overtakes you once, consider the event as "failed" and restart the race.

  • You may not touch the opponent on the whole race.

  • Shortcutting or any other cheating driving is strictly forbidden.

  • Keep at least two wheels on the track all the time. The rumble strips are part of the track. Green lat is not part of track. (2 wheels on rumble strips, 2 wheels on grass is fine, but try to avoid that)

There are no sign ups needed, everyone can try this challenge as long as you want. You may also send me a video response (YT) if you like.

If you go from 7th position to 1st before the fourth turn on the first lap- what are the other 2.5 laps for?

I like this idea once I get my new ps3 sorted I will be trying this.

On this challenge it is not only important to reach the first position, it is also important to keep it. Getting 1st in this challenge is easy, but keeping your position can become hard, if you don't make everything right. I have added that extra rule, because the opponets can overtake you every lap on the straight easily, since they have a HP between 130 and 150, while you are struggling with a 84 HP car. The AI is also smart enough to use the slipstream so you will be overtaken even more easily. So i recommend to push your car from the beginning and getting a good gap between you and the opponent (at least 1.2 seconds)

Consider the event as a cornering practice ;)

Or put that GT3 disk into your ps3 - Run the vitz/yaris race (just remembering strugling with this one, like it made me go mad mad maad smashing up my controler..) good old days

I saw somebody win this with a stock car a while back and I still have no idea how. The Vitz race was one of the hardest events in the whole game for me. Maybe some cars are just better than the premium Vitz or the other one I tried the event with? Maybe I just can't drive cars with the steering on backwards?

Guess I can try...

EDIT:
What a difference a rolling start and parking AI makes, the race is a joke now. That makes the restrictions make more sense. Unfortunately, the challenge is no fun at all to me. The no-contact restriction combined with the must-hold-first restriction means as you must get first very early on lap 1 or they will hit you on the straight. This is possible but means abusing the AI's parking behavior which is as much fun as using a cheat code. Well, at least I got to see how much this race has changed since I first ran it, so thanks.
