My father is on his death bed

Well, I just got a phone call from my mom telling me that we need to decide what we are going to do about my father. She said that he is not responding to any kind of stimuli which (I think) means that there is severe brain damage so even if he did "fully" recover he would be a vegetable for the rest of his life. I think we are going to take him off the medicine and respirator. :(

I do however feel a certain peace about this whole ordeal. I know that I've got to be strong for my mom and I know that if (when) my father dies, he will most deffinately be going to a much better place than this horrid world. I guess that's what God does for ya'. :)
 
ITR, you're facing a very tough and draining decision. I wish you peace and comfort while you deal this.

My Condolences for all of this ITR. No-one ever deserves this and it tends to happen at the worst of times. But similar things have happened to two of my friends, even though it's a horrible shock and experiance, it made them such stronger characters and people out of it and they learnt so much from it. I just hope for the absolute best for you, and any decisions you make will be the right decision.

My condolences to you ITR.... my grandpa is in bad condition too.... his time is definitely drawing nearer. You'll get through it if you are strong enough, good luck
 
Sorry to hear about this, but like you said God is taking him to a better place and if you keep that in your mind it won't be as bad. I hope the best for you and your family and may God be with you.
 
God bless you man, hold on tight because miracles DO happen, i prayed tonight for your dad when I read this post ( though i wish there was more i could do ).I guess it's God's great plan of life though, these occurences...maybe it was meant to be, still i know it hurts though man.I cant comprehend how youre keepin it together, you're a strong person..

Wow, that's a terrible thing to have to experience, Charlie, I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope he comes out of this in decent health, and I hope the tests will come back positive. My condolences go to you and your family.
 
Well, I just got back from the hopsital. My sister called around 4:15 to let us know that my father had passed. :( He was a good man and I know that he is in a far, far better place than this world. I can tell that along with me, my mother and brother both have a certain peace about everything. I wish I could say the same for my sister.

Looks like its time to add another line to the sig.

I'm very sorry the hear the news about your fathers death. I'm sure you have plenty of memories of him to remember by. Since my fathers death, twenty-five years ago, there hasn't been a day when I didn't think of him. He'll be with you forever.

Aw man that really sucks.. :(

I remember your thread about your brother too (on my previous account). To have two things like that happen in your life in such a short space of time must be hard but like many have said: you are always welcome here :)
