Inspired by someone yesterday who made a post saying the Escudo handled decently with the right settings, I decided to play around with the suspension settings to eliminate all of that massive understeer. So I bought the super soft tires and modified the settings to put most of the weight on the rear, and cranked up the downforce. To my surprise, it was actually handling quite good! I was so excited that I decided to test it against some other race cars.
So I re-equipped the default medium tires and took it to Tokyo R246 in Arcade Mode on Professional difficulty. The 787B and R390 jumped out to the lead early while I battled with the GT-One as the Viper and Esperante trailed close behind. I eventually got in front of the GT-One, but I wasn't closing in on the 787 and the R390.
But thanks to the Escudo's 940 horsepower, all the AI cars had to be given upgrades to match it. This called for a softer tire compound, therefore meaning shorter pit intervals. So the R390 & GT-One hung around 'till lap 3 and the 787B 'till lap 4 before pitting. This put me in the lead, and I pitted the next lap. The 787B and R390 came screaming down the front straightaway, passing me as I exited my pit stall. The R390 was in front, but had to pit again on about lap 7, w/ the 787B going in the next lap. Needless to say, I stayed out for the rest of the race and picked up the win.
So thats something to consider. I was able to win with the Escudo against arguably the best 3 non-F1 cars in the game. I'm sure there's room for improvement, as I'm not even a good tuner.
