I went online for the second time since I first popped GT5 into my PS3 on November 25 2010 today, and it went horribly wrong(but not because of my inexperience). I was telling my girlfriend about it and she said she would like to race real people online.
My problems are: I don't know anything about online play, and don't even know where to start with all the races and everything.
Secondly, are there any beginner level rooms out there that the people would be cool with a highly inexperienced racer driving in? She's very competitive, and will run into people purposely given the chance.

Try finding a dirty room. They usually are more relaxed, but even there she'll probably get kicked for ramming people intentionally lol.

you can find a few dirty shuffle races or dirty nascar rases that running into is more than welcome me and my buddys run dirty shuffle races almost nightly

1. run fast.
2. run far.

I recommend low PP shuffle races. That way, at least she can blame the car.

Hi

Just let her go online , she cant be any worse than half the ppl that race online , in fact she might be better .

Or get some of your friends to set up a room & let her practice with them , just be sure to tell them that she is driving & to be easy on her if she hits em .

See ya

Search for rooms with skid recovery force on. Those are full of beginners anyway.

 That's what I was thinking. :boggled:

Let her set up her own ps3 psn gt5 account. What's wrong with that? I think you can delete it if you break up or something.

I'm assuming the reason you won't "let" her go online is because she's playing on your ps3 with your account, and you don't want to get a bad reputation because of her driving in public as you?

Otherwise what's the big deal?

Edit: I would just advise against too "girly" of a username. This is definitely NOT the place for a id like "hotchick16" or the like. Pick something non-gender-specific. Unfortunately certain usernames may attract the wrong type of attention among strangers on a gaming network, if you know what I mean.

Let her use your account, set up a B-Spec race with her in a Mini Cooper against some GT500 cars using the cockpit view. Tell her it's an online race, let her "drive", she'll never know the difference, she'll get pummelled and give up, and you'll be the greatest boyfriend ever for sharing your racing game with her:tup:.

Why not just make a second ID on the PS3 and set her up her own game? I did that with my wife so she could play and I just sent over a bunch of F-40's to sell and each car needed to do the A Spec mode from my account. Then I did the Licenses at Bronze and raced a little on her account until it was up to par. Took me a day after transferring a few cars over. It was actually kind of fun having the car I needed to go through A Spec races without worrying about money. Flew through it.

Now we pass paint colors back and forth so we can have any color we want. It worked out pretty good actually. Now she can bash people all day long and I can try and not hit people. What's funny is she doesn't have a license in RL at all.

:dunce: Pay no attention to Johnnypenso. He posted this deliberately to wind me up.

Actually, go to this thread and ask some of the girls if they would be willing to talk to and race with your girl.

Also this one: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=179902

Priceless.
Other than the fact that there's probably almost no girls posting in those threads. doh!

Try searching for recruit races with assistant aids on, there should be planty of beginners who have first hit GT and haven't been fully accustomed to the configuration of the game, if she could win the race I take she'll be gloat to have beaten others while she can blame her boyfriend's car of his choice being beaten by other competitors by far a great margin.
