That really is quite possibly the biggest contradiction that has ever occurred. How could you fall asleep listening to Metallica lol?

More often then not I fall asleep listening to stuff MUCH heavier then Metallica...

I think that is awesome and if I had a baby right now, I would get that pronto.

EDIT: Lmao, I just realized that I'm listening to Metallica right now... What are the chances, considering I never listen to them :S

A friend of mines' dad plays in a band and he was talking about doing something like this 2 months ago or so.

I wonder where Metallica got the idea from...

Metallica didn't do it... The site did.

EDIT: Screw the Metallica one... They have one of Tool!!! I'm almost tempted to buy it...

Is it just me or is "Wherever I May Roam"more likely to give a child nightmares than get them to sleep. It has that horror movie sound.

My 8 month old loves Sad But True. I play it to her when she's too tired to sleep.

I'm not directly answering your question, but rock superstars They Might Be Giants have released three children's albums. They're about the ABC's, 123's and Science. Some say these albums are TMBG's best work. They're incredibly clever and excellent ways to educate kids.

This is actually very well produced. I should see if my friend Richard can do something like this with his style of music (relaxation/world)

This is his work:

I'm disappointed that it isn't the other way around - songs like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" done in a heavy metal style. Though that's certainly been done before.

No, but Sonata Artica covered Bette Midlers "Wind beneath my wings"

And why does it not suprise me that GG already had this for his kids.

Wow, this is a fantastic idea. I love listening to music when I sleep but usually the words distract me, I end up singing, and staying awake forever. This melodies without words would be great. Especially the Pink Floyd. That's already good enough to drift away to, but in lullaby form it might be even better.

There was a time in my life when I couldn't fall asleep without listening to some heavy metal.

Van Halen's 316 works today, as it did for my boys when they were babies.
