 Atleast youre a bit more open about your project then our good ole friend KY... 👍

Just don't take PD as an example when considering possible release dates.

Oh, and where'd you get the money to buy Apple's iPhone's SDK ? And a mac ? You must be made of money :D

Well, I have been busy with some other projects that actually make money from the start, so it may get postponed a bit. ;)

Also, iPhone SDK is free. But if you want to publish apps you have to pay 99 dollars per year. The biggest cost was indeed the MacBook Pro. But that's okay, I already have my own business. :)

Update: Because of work that actually pays, I wasn't able to work on the game for a month or two. Fortunately, I have some time again, and I have spent the last two weeks removing some nasty bugs from the AI, creating a Shop and an Armory screen and improving the graphics (icons) a bit. My todo list is shortening though, so that's a good sign :) Still some AI work left, one or two screens and lots of fine tuning/improvements, but the basic game is done. After those, it's time to add content (graphics, maps, animations, etc.). I think I actually might be able to finish this. :P ;)

You'll have one sale at least, I intend to buy a copy once your done. 👍
Like GT5, I intend to release it in 2010. :sly:

But seriously, I'm expecting it to be completely done during the summer. Then again, with the wife expecting to deliver a son sometime this (or at the latest: next) week, I'm not giving any guarantees. ;)

Awesome! Can i get a free copy? :D
There will be a lite version available for free and a full version for a small amount. :)

I would buy it if I had an iPhone...
Well, go get one then. ;) :P

Of course, you can try the lite version for free. :)

Anyway, I've setup a development blog over here. Not much news added yet, my son and other projects are still eating up all my time, but I expect to get started again in a couple of weeks. :)

Well, this is certainly an old thread. :D Anyway, I have some updates to share. 👍

Those of you who have been following my blog already know this, but I ran into some issues when developing the game for iPhone 3G. That, combined with my personal life (birth of my second, renovating my house, projects that actually do pay money, generally being lazy, writers block, etc. :P), resulted in me taking a bit of distance from the project.

However, I didn't sit completely on my ass for the whole time, I actually managed to create a little puzzler for iPad called Quadrontax. Doing this side-project gave me the opportunity to clear my mind as far as X-Commandos is concerned. Anyway, feel free to checkout the game on the App Store, since it's completely FREE of charge. There is also a paid version, which features twelve maps instead of four. 👍

Here's a short gameplay movie for those who don't have an iPad (view in HD for best experience):

So, what's up next? I'm picking up development of X-Commandos again, this time I'll start with iPad as my main target platform. Luckily, I can reuse most of the stuff I already created, so expect to see some new screenshots here ' 'soon'.

Oh, and please don't browse back in this topic for my statements about the expected releasedate.
