I was just wondering, because everyone at Tafe is like "Aaaay, it's Lewy in his mad rolla"... and the only modification I've done so far is a bigger and better sound system. As it is, I don't have alot of money, (I'm living off Centrelink ;) ) but I would like to do some stuff to it, like exhaust, port and polish etc. This is my first car, my daily driver. What does everyone think?

I say yea man, old skool is cool. Don't bother with big mods for the 3K, it's not worth the effort. You will not make a 3k fast. Save your cash, you can do some very cool stuff to the old rollas. A 2TG or 4AGE would be cool if you could afford it in the future. Or a rotary if that's your thing? 3TGTEU? :D

Failing that though, some nice 16s and compressed springs and reset leaves to drop her down a bit will make it look pretty cool :)

Hahah yeah, that would be cool.

At the moment, I really really want some exhaust noise, I wanna be able to hear the revs over my sound system haha
Nah I just want some good sound, not too loud, but loud enough.
2" ? Headers?

Was talking with a mate about it, he suggested dropping a rotary into it, or locking up the diff, because I like going sideways :sly:
But the problem with locking the diff is that if police follow me around a tightish corner, they will see the inside wheel skidding and carrying on.

Does the car have any rust? If it does have rust, it could become a money pit. If its in good condition then yea do it up, it will be far from the common car and a nice head turner with a little TLC and if mods are kept tasteful.

do it.
we have to keep our old 'yotas alive. my KP61 isn't in good condition at all, but it has been loved and driven daily for its entire life, i don't plan on letting it die.

just get some webers or something mane.

I always imagined doing a KE30 Corolla with a mild tuned 3SGTE or SR20DET of around 250hp with a roll cage, coilovers etc etc road legal setup for the hills.

4AGE or a similar 'atmo' engine would be nice but I would like something small of around 250hp that isn't stuggling or revving all the time (I would keep that for another project car :D).

Good question Slick mentioned is rust, has it got any and how much? pics?

Okay thanks guys, I'll keep the Webers in mind. Sorry about lack of pictures, I haven't been living at home and that's where all of the pictures are. When I go up there next, I'll post 'em here.

By the way, my dad and I bogged, sanded back and painted what little rust there was, it was mainly bubbling paint. It's all good now 👍

Pics soon...

Yeah, maybe. I'd rather FR or ALTA.

Pictures here

Pretty much everything that Simmons makes is the perfect finishing touch to a nice old skool car.

FRs and Altas are wicked but the smallest size they come in is 17 inches. Do you know if 17s will fit under the arches of the rolla if it's lowered? You don't want to be cruising around in a stock height car with decent size rims, it looks silly.
