Looks nice, but is it just a 2.5RS or are there engine modifications as well?

just some bolt on stuff

Injen CAI
Borla Headers
custom 2.25" catless midpipe
JDM STi Gnome Muffler

but the suspension is what i've been working on a little more
whiteline springs
whiteline front/rear strut bars
whiteline adjustable rear sway bar

I bet it sounds nice with the headers, midpipe, and muffler,

I really like the flat-4 "growl".

Is it an STi? If not, still a good choice. Just remember: a good turbo is always based on a good NA tune.

He already said its a 2.5RS.

And I'm not sure what you mean by your second sentence.

If you're not sure what I meant in the second sentence, I'm not sure you should be working under the hood of a car.

I understand the words, the point is that a high performance NA tune usually takes advantage of a high compression ratio--usually 10.5:1 or higher. A good turbo tune needs a much lower compression ratio--between 8:1 and 9.5:1 is typical. Given that fact, how does your statemnt make any sense at all?

I have to agree. I really don't get the point comparing the two types of induction, and how they relate to each other. While its not common knowledge, most even semi-interested car guys know it.

None the less, thats one nice Scooby ya' got there. I'll sell ya' my WRX struts/springs for $5. :D

I think he was saying that every good turbo engine starts out life as a good non-FI engine. Don't go reading too much into the mechanical aspects of it all.

Well not all turbocharged cars are dead beats at low rpms, My Skyline pulls well at low rpms then rockets off at about 3500rpm. (R33 Skyline 2.5L IL6 Turbo engines have a compression ratio of 8:1)

The body kit looks really nice (did you say what kind it was?) and keep the stock spolier for God sakes, anything else would look awful. I like the rims too, they are just the right size for the car, but you need some big ol brakes to fill em up.

Have you taken it to a road track yet? I bet that thing would be fun to throw around the curves, hell a back country road would be fun too.

i think i'd rather have my low end torque than having to rev up to 5k for boost/power

Woooooooooaaaah. Easy there.

WRXs start spooling at 3k and hit full boost 5k. At that point, even without a launch in first gear, a WRX would be just about even with you at the end of first and WRXs would gain a lot in 2nd gear. If the two car launched, there wouldn't be a contest.

Of course, this is without an aftermarket up pipe, which allows the turbo to spool up 500rpms quicker.

Also, have you taken a look at the UDSM 2.5 STi motor? Pretty damn quick spooling properties. Also, do a search on NASIOC for "JDM STi Twinscroll". Supposedly the spool even quicker, and they're only 2L!

Don't sell your turbocharged brethren short! :D

Always there to clarify. Thank you Famine!

And nothing looks more intimidating than giant bigass 15'' rotors.

Paint thoughs Calipers blue!

Nice and clean lookin 👍

im not that hardcore of a ricer so im not gonna paint my calipers...and anyways im not planning on keeping this car for very much longer, jumping in a evo mr next year

Looks good. I cant wait to get my suby back. Just had a STI V7 Spec C engine swap.

The comment about the turbo spooling at 5Krpm, are you crazy? Maybe on dragged out supras, but on my wrx I spooled at 2300-2500 rpm and made full boost by 3400. I had uppipe, TBE, intercooler hoses, and a tune. Always had plenty of torque and the kick when the turbo pulls is awesome. Keep dreaming with your NA car :P. (unless you have a corvette, viper, etc... Which I'm sure you dont :)
