That's right BMW, cause even in a severe accident, the Mazda would save your life. :)

Thanks for the comments though. It's not only a good looking door, but it has all kinds of info like the price of a '83 GLC or the fuel efficiency of a '89 MPV.

does that little table thing by the front of the door ever clip you as you pass through?

if that was my house and i walked through there in the morning whilst i am still half asleep.....i woudl probably sever my leg off.

(btw, i am not retarded...i am gifted....but, that probably explains my lack of sense anyways.)

Actually I've never hit that little thingy. Nor have I figured out why the hell it's there. It's actually not that close to the door BTW. Maybe I'll put something on the little thingy since there's nothing on it.

That's nothin. I should take new pics of my walls and stuff.

Well good for you. Mazda or Porsche, whatever is on your wall you should be happy with.

Nice work on the door MazKid!

You guys should enter my room. The door has a giant MiB2 poster, and my wall is covered with various gaming posters, movie posters and comic posters. Then there's a giant Stuart Little 2 poster (which I plan on stripping down). Then you'll see 4 Tamiya models I built (Mazda efini RX7, Porsche 911 GT2, Jagermeister Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti and an F1 car.) I should take a few pictures and post them here. When I get a scanner/digital camera that is.

Cool stuff. I need more Mazda models...all I have now is:
Gate 1993 Miata 1/18 scale
Autosomething 1/24 scale RX-7 RS(FD, ofcourse) and '89 Miata.
1/32 scale 1958 Mazda T2000 three wheel truck(teh awsome, but it's a plastic model and my glue is crappy...still cool though)

I ordered the Gate 10th anniversary Miata, waited several months, and contacted Ashville model co several times and finally found out that my Miata was discontinued before they got a shipment.

Then I go onto the M-Store(Mazda Dealership Supplies, my dad's boss gave us the password and stuff, it's great) and they have a Mazda 6 model...1/32 scale I'm pretty sure. I wanted to order it but my dad said that he didn't want to do it right then. So I waited about a week, and decided to order tons of free stuff from the M-Store plus the model. It was discontinued. Fooey! But I did order a Mazda 6, MazdaSpeed Protege, and Miata posters, for $5, $6, $5 respectfully. I have the 6 and MSP posters up so far.

I do know the company that makes the Mazda 6 model though, they also make Miata and MPV models, among others. I will order them when I get some cash(got about $13 right now lol).

Alpha it's GLC, "Great Little Car". They used "Experience" on the first gen RX-7 too, I donno about the others. Then they started using "The more you look, the more you like". That was before the "It Just Feels Right" slogan.

Your too smart for your own good! -
Where do you get all your posters from apart from the M-Store?

Actually, the only posters I have are from the M-store...if you mean the pics and stuff, they come from either brochures, stuff I get from Mazda, print ads, stuff like that.

Too smart? You haven't even scratched the surface yet!

Ohh, and on the pic of the back of the door...the black thingys, one says B-series and the other says 626...there's 6 of those, 1 for the MPV, 1 for the 626, 1 for the B-series, 1 for the Miata, 1 for the Millenia and 1 for the Tribute...for some reason there's no Protege or Protege 5...I got those from the M-store for free(I ordered 8 free things, I had to, they were free), and they are evidently part of a showroom display.

The 3 posters are 3 foot wide by 2 foot tall. They are the same ones you see in a Mazda showroom.

I need to order more stuff though, they might have RX-8 stuff now.

hey i got some pics of jessie james "mini-gunning" a rx-7, perhaps you's like to see them?:p ;)

You mean on Monster Garage when he totally screwed up that perfect RX-7 Cabriolet and then proceeded to shoot at it with an automatic machine gun for several mins until there were no parts left?

If it's that, I do not want to see it. I saw it once, and I was horrified. How could such a good show go totally wrong by someone supposed to be cool that tries to make a RX-7 Convertable into a sand racer? He must have been on drugs at the time.

thats was the best episode ever! except the tv version of the show cut pretty much all the shooting, my techear had the video and there was a whole 15 min part devoted that the gunnig of the car.

lol, cool...anybody who ever owned an rx-7 that had bad engine seals could appreciate that show...actually, even after the "82 rx-7 from hell", i'd still love to own a newer model, like a 94 turbo charged, black, whatever...(by the way, the 82 "fh" model we had was an automatic with airconditioning, gold, fast and fun to drive, but when those engines wear out, they really wear out:banghead: )

The 2nd gens are the best RX-7s reliabiliy wise.

My dad use to own a '84 RX-7 GSL-SE. Beautiful car, but the engine was wearing out. You couldn't really tell driving it, but starting it, it took a while, smoked a fair amount, or flooded.

Pretty cool deal, man. I'll check my Road & Track mags from a few years ago for you.

Good stuff - keep up the good work (:

Heh, thanks. My dad had car and driver and road and track from like '74, but the library would buy them back so that's what my dad did till the late '80s and early 90s, then he stopped getting both of the mags. I now get both of them though. My bro has an october '85 Road and Track with a 7 page or so Mazda ad, but it's not his so I can't take it out. He also has a '79 one, but I don't remember if it has ads in it and he doesn't know where it is. He found it up at the shop where he works on MX-6s/626s/Probes with a friend...it's an abandoned machine shop near Lambert Airport(it was going to be demolished several years ago, and now it supposedly going to be torn down next January), and he found the '79 mag behind some stuff, and the cover/main article is on the 626. Coincidence? :) I want to go to the shop to see if I can find any other mags.

Man, I was never allowed any pictures on the front of my doors. Not even a sign that says "Josh's Room". :)

I always liked those old-school mid-80's silver-and-black ads, with tons of words. Advertising isn't like that any more.

Same here. :(

I kind of scratched "Christiaan" in my door once with scissors, though. I must've been 9 or 10... Pissing off your parents is so 1997.

Well folks, I was right when I said it would spread to the closet doors...they are nearly covered(room for about 6 more!). This semester I'm taking Ceramics, and they have donated mags that other classes cut up for projects. I love going through older mags for ads and stuff, even just to see what cars were thought up back at the time the mag was made. So I asked if I could take some Car and Driver and Road and Track mags home, and the teacher said I could. So I did. I've taken home about 8 mags, most from '97 or '99. This has yielded me many more ads, since Mazda did a lot of ads in '97. Combine that with the ads I never put up, I had a real project to do. So I have groups of ads for each model. I'm up to, get this, 48 ads, some 74 pages all together. And I'm sure this isn't even close to half of all of the ads Mazda produced. I've got a lot of work ahead of me! :)

Here's the pics. First, the front of the door(the back remains unchanged from above, it's going to house any pre-1989 ads, and I haven't found any recently):
Door_front.jpg

And then the closet doors. I can't use them to thier full potential cause of the MazdaSpeed Protege poster that covers the top part. But that's ok.
closet_doors_001.jpg

And then, as a bonus, my Mazda info corner. These plastic shelfs hold nearly all of my Mazda stuff. The top shelf(well, below the top shelf) is my Mazda brochures. 2nd shelf is my collection of Mazda FUEL and Zoom Zoom mags, the 4 useless to me but free New Beta running footage tapes, several VHS including a Protege 5 preview tape, and the Mazda master tech competition tapes from recent years that they send to my dad(and he doesn't like it. He competed and placed 9th(out of 12) in the '93 competition, and hasn't competed since, because in '93 he was told the wrong information and it caused him to not do better...my mom wants him to compete again, he's still iffy on it). Also there's my other paperwork from Mazda, in the white envelopes towards the wall. I have like 7 of these envelopes. 1 includes all of the letters I've gotten from Mazda. Another has the Mazda 6 envelopes, and those have extra copies of my ads, as well as the Mazda 6 stuff I have, and other envelops. Lots of papers and crap. Below the 2 Mazda shelfs is my collection of Car and Drivers and Road and Track, and the bottom shelf has Game Pros, Exoticar catalogs, and some other stuff(hey I had to put it all somewhere). Ohh, and don't forget the Mazda bags I have. The front one is the Rev-It-Up bag, behind it, the silver one is an oldie from like '89 or around there, and behind that, the 2 blue ones are from the 2003 autoshow. We also have other Mazda bags that we use/store in the pantry. Here's the pic, finally.
OHH! And the authentic 1991 Mazda 787B LeMans victory poster. Held captive in the back of my dad's closet, my mom found it, and my dad gave it to me. It's a beauty. Probably worth some money, but I'm not selling it. Above that is my Miata showroom poster. No, the tacks don't go into the poster, they simply clamp it to the wall. Pretty nifty, though I did have to staple up the 787B one because it's too thin and flimsy.

Questions? Comments? Concerns? :)

Ohh damn, I should have taken a pic of the 1989 Mazda RX-7 Convertable showroom poster I recently aquired from one of my dad's co-workers at Fusz, just to piss off Doug because he wants it and an example of the car. :) I can still take it...maybe I will. Would it make you happy Doug? ;)

Just a tad. While I'm here, I should list what the ads are.

Front of the door, updated list:
Incase you were wondering(or incase someone cares...), the emblems, from top to bottom of the door, are:
Mazda 626 - Off of 2nd gen 626(83?-87).
Next to that, Mazda - Off of MX-6/626 I4 lifter cover.
Mazda - Off of 2nd gen RX-7 I'm pretty sure
next to door nob - Rev-It-Up sticker
Mazda chrome-off of a newer Mazda...pretty sure it's off of a 626, though not 100%.
Small rectangle - mazda - center of a steering wheel(I think from an old B-series)
Circle - Mazda, from a steering wheel, not sure which.
2.2L Fuel Injected - off of MX-6 GT air intake.

The plates:
Mazda Sping Sales event - 1999 or 2000 I reckon.
Mazda - early '90s.
Kenny Kent - Mazda dealership

The ads from top to bottom:
Front door:
1989 MPV(straight across the top)
1990 626
1989 323(it is a half page 2 page if you thought it was covered up)
2001 Tribute
1989 MPV(both next to Tribute ad)
1989 Miata half page/2 page
1989 B-series half page/2 page
1989 RX-7 Turbo II
2003 Mazda 6
1989 RX-7 Turbo II(different, you can see that)
1997 Miata M Edition
1989 Miata(the 2 page one)

Closet doors:
Left door:
1989 Protege
1989 MX-6 GT
1989 Protege(it's a 3 pager, the first page just has some text, I have 2 copies of the ad so I was able to put that up, but it's glared over in the pic)
1996 Millenia S
1992 929 S
1997 Millenia S(that guy, kinda looks like Doug if I can remember Doug's avatar of himself from months ago)
Newer Galant trunk piece(hey, it was free, and I can open the closet with it. It's useful)
1997 626
Late 1997 626
1997 MPV All-Sport
1996 MPV All-Sport
1994 Protege

Right door:
1990 B-Series Truck
1990 Navajo
1989 Mazda Photo Contest winners
1991 Mazda Photo Contest winners
1992 Mazda Photo Contest winners
1989 Mazda Photo Contest announcement
1992 Mazda Photo Contest announcement
(I should say that several months ago I E-mailed Mazda asking if they would bring back the photo contests, and they said no. :( )
Late 1997 B-Series truck

I also have these on my wall near my bed:
2003 Mazda 6(5 ads)
2004 RX-8(1 ad)
2003 MazdaSpeed Protege(1 ad)

Lotta ads.

We used to have a 1991 mpv. We also used to have a 1993 B26000 truck.

Now we have a 2000 Honda Odyssey and a 2001 Nissan Frontier.

Hondas > Mazdas:p

You can't compare a 2001 minivan to one 10 years older. MPVs are damn good, even the old ones. We have a '92 V6(among out other Mazdas), it's excellent.

I didn't compare them that way. We were thinking of getting another MPV, but we found the Odyssey much better.

Both lack all-wheel drive and therefore suck.

The MPV doesn't...well not in Japan. Import one. :)

Here's the RX-7 poster:
