My MR2. Random AW11 content inside.

I saw sideways photos and clicked out of that link. Its a pet peeve of mine.

Yeah, it made it really hard to see much of anything. I might give the guy a call tomorrow and see if he still has it up for sale. If it isn't too pretty, I can just run it ragged and not worry about it. Maybe offer $1200 (or less) and call it a day.

Non-running MK1s honestly aren't worth much of anything. People can't give them away. Its a very niche market at this point so I'd say offer him less than 1000 and see what he says. He'll probably have trouble finding another person wanting to deal with it. So unless its really close and a super deal I'd say don't jump at it right away.

Have you guys heard of BC coilovers? Not sure if its the same thing or not. I made a thread over on the OC and people agreed that the Ksports aren't very good but someone said they're heard some good about BC?

New wheels, tires and suspension bits on the way for the MK1.

I decided to forget about full coilovers and focus on the basics. I bought an Eibach pro-kit and new rear Tokico 5 ways. I've also got a prothane bushing kit and a rear sway bar waiting to go on.

As for the new shoes I've got some Konigs coming sized 15x7.5+32 with a 3 inch polished lip. I might need some camber to fit in the front we'll see. I'll be wrapping them with 195/50/15 BFG G-force Comp-2s.

I've got the front springs installed now. However I've run into a problem. Somehow after nearly 5 years of ownership I've never cut the rear brake line mounts open. Fronts were done already but now I'm hung up with the rear brake lines holding my struts on. I'd rather not have to bleed the brakes by myself without a power bleeder. :(

Took care of the problem. Borrowed a dremel tool and had to buy $20 worth of bits but I ended up finishing the job tonight. Only one broken bolt to!!! I'm amazed.

I don't know if you have them yet but the wheels should fit. I have 15x7 +38(?) and taller 195/55 tires.

They should be here monday. My 15x6.5 +32 already sits pretty flush on the front so I'm thinking it'll poke a bit more than I'd like. The rear should be ok.

As cool as the red rims are and much as I like them, I don't think it works with the body color

WOW I haven't been here in a long looooong time. Where to begin? I've sold the Advans and indeed one entire CAR since my last update. Thats right folks my SW20 has a new owner!

This means winter is fast approaching and I'm stuck DDing my AW11 or my Ninja 650R. Clearly this is less than idea and I am in a frantic search for a newer vehicle. Watch for a new thread on this subject coming soon.

I will still update this thread once in a while when I do something with the MK1 or when I inevitably drag home another one of this things.

Well I've bought a 4x4 Ford Ranger and the bike is in the shed. I am now slowly allowing myself to spend a little money on the MR2. I doubt it will be where I want it to be by spring but I'll try to improve it a little bit by then.

I have bought about 20ft of silicone vacuum line with the hope of tackling that mess of old rubber under hood. I've not made any plans yet but perhaps I can simplify the system and get the car running a little smoother.

I have also just purchased a used power window switch and I have a replacement plastic window gear waiting to go on. Hopefully that will fix the window not rolling up properly.

Lastly I have found a person making replica 85-86 MR2 center console arm rest pads. I am very excited to get mine and see how it fits. The original is made from a very thin metal with thin tabs. This one is supposed to use thicker metal. I hope it will stop popping out every time the metal flexes like the old OE part does.
