The site is very nice but I'd compress the size of the email bar and move this to the right where the Ads are.
I also noted that there was no description on what the poll was for so you might need to add a title to the poll. It's a nice flowing blog but that section right there just gets in the way of that flow. Nice website minus that one spot. I might as well note that I am using Firefox 4 if that helps.

Nice blog and clean layout (not stressful to the eyes).
However, try changing the ad on top, try leaderboard instead of skyscraper, like the ads on this site.
