Your '89 is after the bodystyle change, which occurred in 1986. I believe that's when the switch to front-wheel drive occurred.

Is my 1989 88 have the engine that comes standard in the '85? M5, I'm talking to you!

Indeed it is - and a marginally different one is used in several current GM vehicles too, including the Chevrolet Impala and Pontiac Grand Prix, two name just two.

By the way, FWD Oldsmobiles I can think of off the top of my head:

- Achieva
- Alero
- Aurora? (was the 00-03 Aurora FF?)
- Ciera
- Cutlass
- Delta 88
- Intrigue
- Silhouette
- Toronado

Wow what a day, my great-grandma gave me a call (she's 98 years old) and told me she had something for me. So I drive over to her house which is a good hour and a half away. So I get there and go in a talk to her for a while, she hands me two sets of keys. One set is to a garage at a cabin I didn't know she still had and the other set is to a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royal. She said the car was mine if I could get it started. It took me about an hour but I got it started and drove it home after a buddy of mine came to get my truck.

So ya its a ghetto glider, its rusted, needs shocks, needs a muffler, and I'm sure there are other things but it runs decently. It also only has 33,000 miles on it which is pretty damn good. I snapped some pics of it at a buddies house.

Oh ya it has a 307 V8 in it. I don't know the numbers though. It sounds like a beast without an exhaust.

Congratulations to Blazin' and MrktMkr on their new cars! I think Blazin' should sell it, but anyways, you take some good pictures. 👍
 
Hmm, it looks like one of those cop cars you see in old american movies! But in beige ....
 
The old cop cars are Caprices or Crown Vics useally, but the 88 is on the same platform as the Caprice I do believe.
