Well, i bought a new car a few weeks ago. Its another Skyline, this time a non turbo R32 Nissan Skyline GTS (other car is an auto R32 GTS-4 sedan). Its also manual and a coupe.

Nissan Skyline GTS (R32)
1991
140 hp/108kW
Maroon (factory colour, but repainted three years ago)
Five speed factory manual
Factory non HICAS (four wheel steering)
Factory LSD
Factory no rear spoiler

I did a 16.41 quarter mile in it the other week on a closed public road (proper organised drag race event), but it can do better.

Will post more when i have time, but heres the pics (some with my GTS-4 - which did a 16.27 quarter mile).

Wow, those cars look really clean without all the spoilers and intakes and whatnot. What all is done to the engine? I see it's got a new intake and manifold. Anything else? Is there a market for building those engines NA?

EDIT: That fire extinguisher is goofy as hell, man, get that outta there! Same with those silver grilles. Looks like the guy who owned it before was a halfway ricer.

Nice cars man. A little surprised that the new one is as quick as it is, but the automatic and AWD's weight have to slow the GTS-4 down a lot. How do they compare though?

Also, this is probably the only time I can say this (and I'm not putting your cars down): My Civic will beat your Skyline!

I'm usually not a fan of red but that maroon is epic!

Agreed. Looks great without that stuff doesn't it.

You have always been talking about getting a non turbo, congrats 👍

Whats it like now for you with 2 doors less?

I see it's got a new intake and manifold. .

Manifold is stock, cleaned and painted though

Is there a market for building those engines NA?

I have a friend that intentionally got a non turbo R34 (RB25DE NEO) to build up in NA form, she has done lots of work to it and even fitted nitrous sadly even with the nitrous still makes less the very mild (exhaust + intake) turbo model, she says turbos are scary and is happy which is all that matters.

But otherwise not a whole lot of NA bult engines here atleast.

That's just asking to be turdbo'ed.

And a GT-R rear spoiler or something, it just looks so empty. I think the whole "clean" look is a bunch of bs.

EDIT: That doesn't mean I don't like clean cars, I just don't get the whole "bald blob" look.

Damn Kiwis getting the rather nice imports that the rest of the Anglo world didn't. I will admit my own jealousy despite not being a big fan of the Skyline, they not only look amazing, but I am rather certain that the drive goes along just fine as well.

Lots of turbo's around, ITB it :D

I generally agree, though when it comes from the factory like that I don't mind it, when people remove the stock wing and leave the holes in the boot/trunk and at best put tape of over the top, thats what I hate.

200whp would take a bit of work for a NA RB (no nitrous like my friends) but you can 👍

Good looking car, congrats 👍

So what engine is in it? A quick look into wiki makes me think it would be the RB20DE?

I've never seen taillights like the ones on the GTS-4. Are those what are equipped to the lower Skyline models, or are those custom?

Standard R32 sedan taillights, like all sedan models they are differernt to the coupes.

Nice purchase 👍 looks great.

The R32 (in coupe form) is the best shape of Skyline by far IMO.

The third brake light isn't standard is it? Can't say I can recall ever seeing a Skyline with it integrated into the boot before. Looks clean man.

PS What exactly is going on in the driver side floor? Ejector seat set up?

<--- Envious.

Man of all the imports not available here, I would love to get my hands on a Skyline.

Sharp cars!

Thanks everyone. :)

Here's a vid of me doing a grasskhana in it the other day. Was seriously wet, so speeds not high. :indiff:

Its got extractors, pod filter (with an awesome induction note) and a aftermarket chip thingy. Previous owner still hasn't given me the list of mods yet.

Assuming you mean the silvergrills in the front bumper? Actually looks better in person and is a tidy job too. :)

Keeping the fire extingusher as it has to be there for track days etc, but am gonna look at carpeting the steel plates as they are ugly. And slippery in the wet. :s

Yeah, GTS-4 will be over 1,500 kg's i'd say (heavier than the GT-R maybe?). And had a heck of a time trying to launch it as well since its auto. The brake torquey thing didn't work that well as could only build up the revs to about 2,400 or so - turbo kicks in fully at 3k. So took off and a second or two later the turbo kicks in. Should be good for high 15's otherwise i'd think.

Red one sounded quicker and felt quicker but wasn't. :(

Haha, i got beat by lots of cars that day. Like a Ferrari 599 GTB (best was a 12.20?), Audi R8, Corvette Z06 (C5), 997 911 GT3 RS etc etc. All against the clock though, no side by side runs.
Pics of the cars which were racing

Cheers mate. :) I love it ay. The much longer doors take a short while to get used to though. ;)

Nup, staying NA. Purely because of the exhaust note. And i want a NA Skyline.

I actually hate GT-R spoilers on non GT-R's. Almost as bad as the badge being on one. Generally though i agree with you. Both my Skylines came from the factory with no rear spoiler, but i was hoping to buy a coupe with the factory rear spoiler like that on my girlfriends GTS (pic below). Not gonna chuck one on the red car though as .... yeah. 👍

Looks nice and tidy, not messed around with. I trust you are saving up for your 3rd Skyline now?
Yup, the godzilla. 👍 :D

Brake light in boot is aftermarket (a damn tidy job too). Got heaps of attention and adoration when the previous owner revealed it to others in the car club (Skylines Down Under).

Switch on the left is for the electric fan as factory fan has been removed (along with air conditioning) and the right one is for the little spotlights behind the silver grill in the front bumper. Want to get them relocated though as don't like them there. And may get electric fan hooked up to a thermostat so i don't keep forgetting to turn it on.

Suprised it wasn't done before, any decent autoshop holds thermostatic switches which would be perfect for you.

turbo'd? if i had a Skyline, i'd supercharge it. superchargers are better in my opinion.

I wish we got Skylines here in the US. Do you see them a lot in NZ? For example, BMW 3 Series are rare in my area, but they're's one on every street in the UK. Yesterday, I did see an E92 M3 though.
