Sorry about the spelling, I realized it only after I made the thread!! A couple of weeks ago I got a 96 trans am with only 25k miles. Yes, I did a carfax report, and they are orginal miles. I think I got good deal for my mustang gt. He gave me 7k trade in and I paid 2800. He wanted 11,000 for the T/A, but some haggling got a good deal. The only thing that was wrong with the car was one of the lights didn't come up, but the dealer got a new motor and fixed it at no charge.

Edited by admin to make sense. Plus, I fixed the title. No need to thank me.

Not bad. Not a huge fan of the front end of that year, but love the back.
What year was the Mustang GT that you traded in?

The front end makes it look like a photo-chop with that dividing line down the center and the pointed nose so that the reflections on one side stop suddenly . Good price for one of thoes so I believe, but where are the front plates?

They are still kick-ass cars even by today's standards... Just a few simple mods can turn that LT1 into a monster, asuming you have a bit of cash to play around with...

Does it have the 4L60E or the Tremec T56?

those cars are cool.... especially if you get it a ram-air hood!
Just please drive it like your supposed to, and beat the crap out of it!
What part of Florida? is it near any strips?

Whats sad is that the Trans Am always was in the spotlight when the Firebird Formula was just as good and just a bit cheaper...

Nice car. Real value for money performance and good low miles too.

Sort of makes you wonder what sort of person buys a V8 muscle car and in 10 years only puts 25,000 miles on the clock though....

formula birds are a little slower plus you couldnt get the RA hood on a form

BTW i have an Lo3 slowmaro 92 700 r4 cat delete headers and a flowmaster its slow but shure does sound tough

In 1996 the V8 Firebirds lined up at:

- Firebird Formula V8: 285HP, 325 ft-lbs of torque
- Trans AM: 285HP, 325 ft-lbs of torque
- WS6 Ram-Air package adds 20 HP, and comes with higher performance tires and suspension

The Formula and T/A were essentially the same car, but the Formula was a bit more stripped down while still offering similar performance.

As a sidenote, although it was rated at 285 crank horsepower, it produced 270 wheel horsepower for the 6 speed, and a more accurate 240 wheel horsepower for the 4 speed auto.

... Im a T/A fan, theres no doubt in that... But when the '93-'97 F-Bodies were in production, the Camaro was much better looking than it's Pontiac twin...

But post '98, that was a different story. I still wet my pants every time I see a 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 35th Anniversary Eddition complete with the black and yellow "Screaming Chicken" paint job...

Late 80's Camaros were my favorite "gaisha"(foreign car), when I was growing up in Japan. 👍 I LOVED those cars!

I just liked how they could let you grow a mullet, drink beer while driving, and let you carry a bumper sticker that says "I break for my female cousins and sheep" without someone saying something too you.
