Hi All,

Check out my Sparco pod setup at home. I know I still need to upgrade the screen... but one step at a time :dopey:

Bling bling ....

Looks like a quality product.
But Sparco seats are very expensive...

Also, while using a racing seat looks 'cool' I question people using them for video game use.
Racing seats have high bolsters and are extremely rigid, designed to keep you in place during the riggors of a high-g race.

Playing video games for hours, you are ..... completely innert. Therefore the benefits of the racing seat ... stiffness, lightness, and high bolsters ... IMHO, do not make the best seat for video game use. I'd much rather have something soft and cushy with good lumbar support, like say a Caddy seat or something .... 👍

I absolutely agree... and also had every intentions of buying a comfortable seat for gaming use. As you've mentioned, bucket seats are extremely rigid and intended for racing/track use... not for gaming. Using the MOMO T Frame seat for my game setup was merely due to costs, and by luck. While shopping for a relatively inexpensive reclineable seat for the setup, a friend of mine decided to hold off his CRX project and sold the seat to me for $150 each. Needless to say, I jumped at the chance.

While I completely agree that a FIA approved seat is "over the top" for gaming use... it does look cool :D

yeh I agree, I am using a seat of my 90' talon and it is great. but you can not feel the motion like you can in the real car lol 60' times 1.8 seconds ouccccccchhhhhh

I went to the Sparco USA "Garage Sale," I got a Sparco Milano for $200 and then the universal basemount w/ sliders for $25. But then again, that's all going in my car...

That is cool but it is completely idiotic to buy a actual lighweight race seat for 500+ dollars just to play a Video game. I think everyone should have to sit in a half broken wicker chair like me :D

i just sit on my couch....

look on the bright side, whenever you beat GT4 - you can just install it in your car 👍 :D

Nice lookin setup you got there, man!

...is that a Gran Turismo RX-7 I spy on the top shelf inside the case? Where'd you get it? How much?

It says on their site:

"Sparco® Racing Cockpit Pro is compatible only with the Logitech® Driving Force™ Pro"

Q. Will the Sparco® Racing Cockpit Pro work in conjunction with the previous model Logitech® Driving Force™?
A.No.

Looking at the picture, why wouldn't it work with the regular DF wheel? The only thing I can see is that the pedals may not fit the regular DF. But would it be easy to mod it to fit the regular DF?

Do u connect the PS2 through ur computer and come out the monitor?? Because when ever I do that, there will be a delay when i press a button.

U guys who buy all these seats etc. are hardcore.

I just use a playstation controller and a couch. lol.

i spend most of my money on my motorcycle 2005 R1 baby

is that a miniz autoscale white fc i see on ur shelf? and nice seat. But imo, there is no point in having such a seat. Not like u need any lateral support for a video game :) Take taht off and put it in ur real car and stick ur real car seat in to play GT

Way too much $$$ & also very limited ajustablity for the steering set up.

The seats are a nice touch though.

Lots of LCD displays have multiple inputs (Like my brothers Dell), you get a component cable for the PS2 and connect it directly to the back of the monitor (if you have the NTSC version of GT4 you get the added benefit of being able to play in HD mode).

This is pretty sweet setup!
I remember seeing this being reviewed way back in Dec. 2003 over at IGN.COM but at that time, it was only being sold in Asia...Good to see it finally made it to a wider commercial market!

For those that complain about using racing seats, I do somewhat agree about them being comfortable, as I've got a Cobra seat on my BRD Race Frame Pro and though I just love it, I just wish it had a bit more padding in the 'butt' area as I've done stints over 4 hours straight in it and have felt the agony! LOL!

However, with the right accessories ...you can sit for hours & hours and not feel anyworse then when you first sat down to race and yet retain that 'race car' feeling!

Dude, that's a sweet setup you have there. You're my hero. You said you're talking about upgrading the TV. What do you have in mind? Also, I don't agree with what Howheels said about the seat. He makes a good point about the comfort issue, but I think it's best to have a racing seat in order to more accurately recreate the racing experience. I say sacrifice comfort for coolness. P.S. can I come over and play?

Yupe... its the Initial D - Ryosuke white FC. And I do agree that a FIA seat is an overkill for a video game... but I do like the way it looks in my room. And I much rather leave my G35 coupe alone... don't want any racing seat for the car =)

A few of my friends also purchased the Sparco pod, and we're all planning to have a 5 player LAN game at my house... so sure!!! Stop by :)

Acutally, I have a standard component/composite to VGA converter that I purchased from Fry's Electronics. It does not require the use of the computer what-so-ever.
