My Opel Astra GTC

I've bought a Opel Astra GTC last week, and picked it up this day... Drives really good, it's not an occasion btw. This is the car:

I have the metallic black version... And other rims. Much better, show you the pics soon... What do you think of this car? I'm verry happy with it, I paid almost 27.000euros for it. Don't know whats in dollars though, does anyone know? :scared:

I think it's 35.000dollars or what? :yuck:

It is almost 35,000 USD. Scary thought that you can spend that much on a small car, here that kind of money will put you into a BMW 325i or top-of-the line Accord Hybrid.

european cars are soooo expensive... i can import a 25.000 dollar caddilac escalade, europe puts a 25.000dollar tax on it, that makes it 50.000 :grumpy:

that escelade isn't worth 25.000dollar btw, it's all plastic :crazy:

the car is a coupe btw, forgot to say that :dopey:

europe hasn't those big ugly musle cars like in america, whe have cars with style :sly:

some musle cars are beautifull, but the most i hate it, when i see a american car here I laugh at it, so slow....

Yes I understand how the attitudes there are different because your gas prices are higer, your taxes are higeher and your roads are narrower...

Just a $35,000 small car would sell 0 copies here.

Cool, Astra sporthatch. Seen plenty of 5 door astra's round and I hope to see alot of these around, they look good. Just hope they aren't riced.

My sister has one.... well, the 1.7 Diesel version

But its a smooth car, some of the materials could have been better I suppose, but that would also increase the price.

I would still go for the Corolla, but its one of my favourite Hot Hatches (I like it much more than the Golf)

no my car isn't slow at all.... it isn't that fast like a ferrari or something, but it's an great engine, can't test it now becaus the first 1000km i have to do chill with it... and why reskinned? i have the normal window becaus i like it more.

i mean these cars.... these are the only american cars i see here, and they are damn ugly!

Why re-skinned? Because, underneath your Astra's body, it is the same as the Saturn ION (an American car).

You said American cars are slow, hence your car should be slow too, since it's really an American car.

i mean these cars.... these are the only american cars i see here, and they are damn ugly!

The only American cars you see over there are Buick Roadmasters and Cadillac Sevilles? :odd:

I thought a dollar was roughly the same as a euro? When you convert a euro inot £s it's 60p ie 60 cents. And i think the dollar is around the same.

Nice car there. Even if it is a re-skinned Ion, at least it looks a lot better than the Ion. Can we get a pic of your black one?

i had a little mirror-kiss though

a big merc drove my left mirror of!! :crazy:

was driving on a little road, and a merc was in the middle of the way and i was horning to let him move but he didn't and i moved to the grass but he was still not moving left or right... i would hit him in the front, but at the last he moved and only hit my mirror... got an other mirror but not the right one, this is dark grey or something, and not metallic black

tomorrow ill get the new one.... i'm not going to my insurence caus it's only 300... if i go to my insurence i have to pay them more than the mirror is worth, so ill just pay the dealer 300 and it's ok

when i get my mirror tomorrow ill make some pics

That was sooo funny.......clarkson had to actually eat his hair on an omelette live on top gear..............the astra sport hatch its an amazing looking car.......it does look very close to the original concept......I can't wait to see the VXR version! :drool:
