My game freezes at time. I think it started after update 2.01. However it appears it only does it when I am playing in multiplayer mode with someone. We can run a track a couple of times and it's fine. Select a new track and it might freeze. Sometimes it might not. It's never consistent. Also, if I save something and then go select the track and it freezes, what I thought had saved hadn't. That makes not sense to me. Why would the game freezing up undo a save if it had been saved before the freeze?

Sign out of PSN. This is what usually slows down my loading screens and causes occasional freezes. Instantly solved when I sign out.

I'm not signed in when I use multiplayer mode.

umm you sure? that is the ONLY way to go online. or are you doing 2 player arcade racing? and the suggestion above is the quickest and first option to try.

My game does that since 1.00. It's much more rare now. Do you clean cache ?

Also nothing to do with beeing on psn or not, it just happen sometimes.

I guess it's fixed? I did the recovery mode/file thing. A screen came up that said something was corrupted but of course I hit ok without actually reading it. Then after a few seconds of nothing on the screen, this screen came up:

"The system was not turned off properly the last time it was used. The file system of the hard disk may be corrupted.

The sytem will restart, check the file system and restore it if it is corrupted. If the file system is corrupted, it may take 2 to 3 hours to complete."

After I hit ok, the screen went dark for a few seconds and then it went to the XBM. Is that all I need to do?

I know this is an older thread, but I'm glad it came up in a search. I did the recovery and hopefully it will fix the issues I had (constantly locking up my entire console after a short time of online play).
