ok, i'm cheesed now...

i was getting my ass handed to me in the european cup (first one) by a lotus... my car is a completely tuned clio v6... first two tracks i came first.. then the others.. my gosh.. the lotus had like 1/4 - 1/2 a lap lead by the end... my car can't keep up on the straights (even struggling with the nitrous fully open at max power) and cant really keep up in the corners either (we all know how light the lotus is)...

so, i thought.. let's get a caterham fireblade... it's euro, light and pretty fast...

bought it.. fully tuned it... and u can't use it to race in anything... >_< so now i have a fully tuned fireblade that is useless...

there should be some kinda warnings about this... like "car is useless, buy at own risk"...

mods may delete this thread if it's considered a pointless waste of space...

you should have saved before you bought the cat.
them reload after you found it useless
 
i am stupid and have autosave enabled....

why? because i have cats who occasionally run like spastics around the room and tend to trip over the cord sometimes...

First of all, you haven't even told us what Lotus you've gotten beaten by.
If it's an Esprit, well duh!! :dunce: But if it's an Elise, well, somebody needs to spend more time in the license tests.
Tell me the specs and the settings of your Clio Sport and what Lotus you were beaten by, and i'll try to help.

To everyone including x08, please stop complaining about your losses and gains. You're spamming the GT4 forums. Thanks.

V6 Clio isnt a great car. :indiff:

The Clio V6 is a great little car, its just not the fastest car about.

However in GT3, a well tuned Clio V6 was a fun drive. If the MkII in the game is as much of a step forward as the road car is, then it should be a great tool.
 
your wanting a car that is just heavier than the elise/exige, but a bit more bite when it comes to the straights (maybe helped with a bit of nos). test cars before you get them, kinda like 'try b4 u buy' :)
 
First thing when I get GT4 disable BGM and Auto Save, Screw around one or two times with the arcade and licenses erase and get serious 💡

you're on crack, the M5 is too heavy. a lotus is only about 800 Kg. it corners a lot better than an M5.
 
As for the rant about the Caterham.. I don't think it's a problem it can't be used in AI races.. it would win them all and is practically a cheat car. You bought it with the intention of 'winning' easily... that's perhaps your own fault.

Maybe you used the Escudo for most races in GT3 eh:P
 
x08 ist right in one point !

Especially in the beginning of a GT Careers you can do some pretty fatal mistakes by buying the wrong car and practically loosing all your money. Sometimes this is just bad luck, sometimes you have just forgotten to "autosave", but in this time i think it´s really unfair.

You should never be able to buy a car that you can´t use in any races !!!

There should have been a warning !

That´s my opinion ! If something like this would have happened to me, i would have lost some of my enthusiasm for the game. And that should not happen !

First thing I am going to do when I get GT4 tell my work and tell my wife I am sick, and I plan to be sick for about a week or so.
 
It's a good thing that some cars are not allowed to enter races, as it's the case with the crappy Nike car and one other prize car I got which I can't remember (a Toyota?). I suppose the Jay Leno car follows the same fate?

Put it this way, you wouldn't have much fun overlapping the rest of the pack before they even finish lap 1.
 
Sorry, but I'm a bit confused here.

There are cars in the game that you can't race? Now that's rather dissapointing! So Arcade mode is the only way to drive the? Or is there something I'm missing here?
 
They can't enter RACES. You can still have a go with them in the 'free run' modes, and thus race them in 'family cups'. But they can't be used to advance your game percentage; it simply would be pointless if you could do that.

So far I've encountered only two and believe me, I don't feel like I'm missing out.

Whats funnier is you thinking the Clio V6 can beat an Elise round a track, bull **** it can, an Elise has fantastic cornering speeds an isn't slouch in a straight line either.

An M5 or M3 will only beat a lower spec Elise, the Sport 190 is a no no as is the Motorsports Elise or the Exige which is the commercial road version of the motorsports Elise.
 
i think i remember that race. it was on fuji speedway and i had a lightly tuned used R32 GTR v-spec2 and the old lotus would just fly up out of no where, ram me up my ass, then fly past. i was like 'WTF?!'
that GTR was my first car so i decided to put nitrous in it to test it and even with that i coudlnt catch the lotus on the striaght.. amazing :O

What's even funnier is you attacking me for not knowing what Lotus he got beaten by, I didn't know he talking about a Lotus Elise.
If I did know, I still would have helped because there is more to racing than just "beat the fastest car". There's a ton of things I can do to make the Clio Sport V6 faster. IMO, I think it's a really fast car. I love it. But then again, it's not all in the car, it's the Driver as well. There's also such strategies as "freight train the other drrivers" and "Drafting" to beat a faster car.
