not with only 125hp :(!! but that will all change once my honda sells!! (new engine time! woohoo)

rebuilt rx-7 engine with street port= 2,000
honda prelude= 12,000

so no, im not selling the prelude just to buy an engine :irked:

Wow dude, for 12 grand you could get a good start on a third gen RX-7. Or you could get a REALLY nice second gen.

in my opinion a first gen rx7 is prolly a bit more of a sporty car than a second gen (its lighter)... and its a classic car... and for 12k i dont think you could buy a 3rd gen...

yeah, the 1st gen really has that classic japanese sports car look. like the 2000GT and 260Z and Supra-Celica. i like it :)

260Z? Never heard of that, is it a hybrid?

a 260 z is real
i personally like datsun 240z's more...its the best selling cars of all time... and the first real japanese sportscar that the public ate up

I have a friend with a '78 280Z that has a Chevy 350 smallblock in it. Very nice condition too everything is shiny chrome and the paint is in near perfect condition. Very sweet ride. Loud as hell on the freeway.

I got sleepy eyes too, have you heard of the Pivot Headlight Unit Controller?
I got that for my car you can adjust how far up or down the lights go, like it has 20%, 50%, 80% and 100% open.
anyways, here's my sleepies

i wont even get into 300z/zx...

with less weight... shorter length and same wheelbase... i think the original z is hte most desirable of the above z's...

in stock trim... only the 280zx turbo... and 1990-on 300zx na nad turbo are faster 0-60 than the original z... i think that is pretty impressive... or it shows that nissan lost its focus for a bit...

how much is your friend pushing perg??? i bet it makes noise lol

i disconnected the fuseable relay for the headlight motors. then i used to back-up hand cranks to get them in position. free, easy. gotta love it :D everything i've done to the car has been free so far, and i've made it lighter and faster! and better looking! :p total invested= $700

I just use the back up hand crank and dont worry about any fusible relays, the only problem i have to put it back everytime i switch the lights on and off

when you disconnect the fuseable relay, that doesn't happen! lol. why do you think i disconnected the relay?? the lights still turn on/off in sleepy mode. all i gotta do to reset them is plug the fuse back in.

thats how I did my sleepies at first the only thing that sucks about that is I had to unplug the little pumps so that the lights dont move, and at night I had to pop the hood and raise the lights manually, cause with sleepy eyes you can't see **** at night.

good idea i never even thought about that:D

Hey lanevo, what year is that rx7? My dad has a 79. Looks pretty nice, he's had three engines in it without ever reacing, so keep an eye on that.

its an '85 GSL model. its already on its 2nd engine :p soon to be on the 3rd. im gonna dog the hell out of this 3rd engine!

I heard that somewhere and I didn't know if it was true, but i do it every now and then like after I was my car, oh and get this I am undefeated, and have never redlined in a race. I redline at 7,000 and usually shift at 6,000, but it feels like I accelerate faster when I dont redline. weird huh.
