My son broke my PS3, how can I play on a borrowed one?

Long story short my 2 year old son stuck 3 discs into my PS3 because he wanted to play a game and couldn't figure out how to power it up.

Now I can't get Ghostbusters out of the PS3 even with the manual eject.

And go figure, it's out of warranty for 1.5 months.

Now I'm going to be sending it in for repair (and then installing a shelf above the TV) but I don't want to miss out on the seasonal events.

Is there a way to copy my save game over to my buddies PS3 and finish off those seasonal events while my PS3 is gone?

Ouch.. Just put a USB drive in the ps3 and copy your ps3 save data into it.
Don't be too harsh on your son. When I was a kid, I stuffed play-dough into my cousin's NES controller slots. He spent hours cleaning it out. Now that I look back, I feel a little bad about it. I was like 4.

The PS3 is at repair :p

Similar thing happened to a friend. Except it was twice the amount of disks. He took it apart, removed the disks, put it back together, and it worked. May be worth a shot first if you are planning to send it in anyway.

Not yet, I still have it here at the house and it works and even plays the Ghostbusters disc, but won't eject it.

I'll copy the game over (and do a full HD backup) before I send it in.

I'm cranky about the situation, but I'm not cranky at my son. He just wanted to play Wii (but didn't realize that my PS3 was not the Wii). He calls it "Hit A".

I also asked about fixing it myself and if the warranty sticker has been removed then they won't do any repairs on it if you send it in. They want $130 for it too... freaking pirates...

well dont expect to get the game back or have anything left on it .... when mine broke they gave me a new one though that was guarenteed still but anyway

OP, yes you can do what you are asking. Just make sure to make a new user on your buddies PS3 and use your PSN login to go online. Then copy your saved data to this new user and as long as you are logged into your PSN account it will allow you to use your saved data.

This is exactly why I pull the power cable out of the back of the PS3 everytime I finish with it. My 2 sons are 5 yrs and 18 months and it originally started when I found my 18 mo. old running around fingering up one of my games. He had turned it on and ejected the disc so I immediately realized I needed to find a way to squash that scenario. I guess that wouldnt really prevent them from jamming something in there but hey at least the situation is minimized. Once the red power light was no longer visible they pretty much leave it alone.

You can safely remove the warranty sticker by preheating it and removing it (overdoing it will cause it to melt).
You will also need a security torx to remove the screw under the warranty sticker, had a similar problem with mine and now I have to lift the hood on mine every time I need to change a game lol
